That's not necessarily true, either. Democrats are not encouraging Sharia law, per se, or the building of mosques, or even pushing for open borders and amnesty.
I do have a gripe with the conservative mentality, however, because they seem to believe in what I call "exclusionary freedoms." All too often I see conservatives screaming about freedom and the Constitution while, at the same time, trying to concoct ways to strip as many liberals and Democrats as they can of their voting rights. I've seen a number of threads like that here and it's one of the reasons why posting here can be so god-awfully painful at times.
The entire debacle that occurred in Wisconsin is an example of that sort of mentality. What started out as a fiscal imperative turned into union busting - and only because many unions support Democrat candidates.
Conservatives claim they support basic freedoms like "freedom of religion," yet throw a fit when Muslims wish to build a mosque (which was NOT at Ground Zero). The mob even attacked an Egyptian man because he merely looked Muslim - and the guy was there to support them!
And then there's this video:
This should be shameful to any American who truly believes in freedom.
I could go on about this for quite some time, offering up many different examples, but hopefully you see what I'm getting at.
The Tea Party is hardly an organization I would ever deem to look up to, what, with their Obama-Hitler signs and their violent gun rhetoric. To my eyes, they prance around with patriotic slogans on their lips, but when you clear away the smoke, all they're interested in is their own personal bank accounts.

Back to attacking religion in America,HUH?? That includes ALL religions, right, steff? Of course, the liberal mindset is that foreigners should be able to storm OUR country and make demands that we accommodate them, support them, and change OUR traditional ways of life, right?? I mean, why put up a new church or synagogue when we can build a new mosque, or a new La Raza studies building, right?? Multiculturalism and diversity without integration is a huge fail here, and they are not even going to attempt it over there. I think you need to slow down. I didn't attack anything, I simply asked why any foreign country HAS to do things exactly 'our way' and pointed out that like the religions in other countries, our religious citizens also would not turn their backs on their beliefs because someone tells them to. I'm not sure how stating that they will support their beliefs no matter what is some kind of an 'attack'. I said nothing about new churchs, synogogues, mosques, or your LaRaza. Swim back in from the deep end of the pool dear. That foreign country, Afghanistan lost "their right" to do their own thing, when 9-11 happened. Afghanistan had their hands dirtied that day due to allowing him to live there and carry out the deed. End of story.
