mmh, i don't know what happened, but for some reason, my computer reset itself, and now I have no problem with any of the formatting on these threads. At the same time, it threw me off of all sites that I had signed on to on a permanent basis, and I had to sign again to them again.
Go Figure.

If you got thrown off all the sites you use a password to sign onto, your cookies were removed. Your computer probably went through its usual maintenance run and that set you right. Glad you're back from your harrowing experience! ;D

Oh, I forgot to tell you! Last night, Sushi got drunk. Yesiree bob....plastered, three sheets to the wind, inebriated. I made mussels in a wine sauce. It's mostly wine, a little heavy cream, parmesan cheese, parsley and garlic. I cook it very briefly, Just until the mussels open and not enough for the alcohol to burn off. I had just finished a yummy bowlful, when the phone rang to pick up my car at the garage. "Come right away, we're closing soon". My son and I took off in his car to make it in time. Well, when we got back, Sushi was literally passed out on the couch. When I woke him, after repeated attempts, he rolled and fell off, then kind of staggered around. I had left about a half cup of sauce in the bowl on the counter before we left, and when we returned it was licked clean. He was incredibly bad-tempered this morning, what with the hangover and all. Stupid cat.

I'm sad. I had taken the car in to put on winter tires and to get a winter check-up. It ended up costing me EIGHT HUNDRED dollars. I had no back brakes left, hoses were cracked, the bolts were rusted on and had seized up after 12 years. They had to use a blow torch t get them off, and labour is expensive. That was my Cuba money I was squirreling away for February.

I did ask if I should just get rid of the car. They said for a 12 yr old car, it's in terrific shape. It only has about 50,000 kms on it. If I take care of it, it could last another ten years. There's absolutely no rust. That part was good to hear. I love that car.

He really is, mmhmm. I've had people tell me he has the personality of ten cats, or that he's a dog wearing a cat suit. In any case, despite his pain-in-the-assedness, he's added so much laughter to my life.

Yes, she's a pain in the proverbial backside, but she's our pain in the backside! We get a lot of good laughs out of the little idiot. ;D

I just cannot believe how much and what he eats. Today he got into the rosemary mashed potatoes. Yesterday it was a pan of stale date squares that someone gave me to feed to the raccoons. I came home to date paste and buttery crumblies all over the house. What kind of cat eats this stuff?
He's a most peculiar beast Who hails from the Far East From pickles and pears To eggs and eclairs There's nothing on which he won't feast.

GG, he weighs about 18 pounds, but he's not fat. As a breed, Tonks are surprisingly heavy...much heavier than they look. They're very muscular, and 20 pounds is not unusual for them. He flies through the house at warp speed all day long, so he burns it off.

The exotic breeds are all much heavier than they appear due to their muscle development. Next time you see a little, skinny Siamese, stop and pick it up. You'll see what I mean.

I remember my brothers Siamese being small but so heavy. Nicko was a solid little boy out chasing the deer off the property.

The other day I put on a jacket I haven't worn since spring. In the pocket, I found the poster that was giving Sushi away, and I just had to laugh. It went on and on about his gorgeous, shiny and sleek, dark brown coat. His beautiful cobalt-blue eyes. Not one word about his thievery. His gluttony. His propensity to destroy everthing in his path. His fondness of sharpening his claws on the couch. His incessant howling . Gee, I wonder why they failed to mention it?

GG, Tonkinese were bred by crossing a Siamese with a Burmese. Now they're a breed in their own right. Sushi is a solid mink Tonk who looks like this.

The classic and traditional Siamese are larger cats than the newer wedge Siamese. My old traditional was close to 20 pounds and he wasn't fat ... just big. The Tonkinese is similar to the classic and traditionals; much more so than to the wedges. Breeding out to the Burmese changed the body type and head shape a bit.

I was at the Safari pet shop the other day and saw a Bengal kitten with this colouration. Gorgeous! A mere $1,800. I would never spend that kind of money on a cat and I would never get one from a pet shop, but dayum! Beautiful.

OK, I would spend that kind of money on a cat, but on vet bills. Once you take it into your home, it's family, and you're obliged to take care of it to the best of your ability.

Gorgeous marble Bengal, welts. There are Bengals available from various Bengal rescue programs. Most are spotted Bengals, but there are some marbles and even a Cashmere (long-haired Bengal). They're really beautiful cats with great personalities. They're active, like other exotics, but not quite as vocal as our little friends.
