I had shrimp for supper as well. There was a huge sale...$4.99 for 450 grams (a pound) of giant raw zipperback shrimp, so I stocked up. I was eating in front of the TV during the debate, and went to get something to drink. When I returned to the living room, the pile of garlic shrimp on my plate had mysteriously shrunk. Gee, I wonder what could have happened to it?

I can tell ya! Little clawed paws reach out and hook them shrimp right off the plate and out of the colander! They pop 'em in their gaping maws and go after another one! It's positively Machiavellian!

I think he ate the shells and tails. There's no sign of them anywhere.

Sylvia rejects shell and tails. Chooch will eat tails, but not shells. Arnie will eat the walls if he thinks he can.

I hate cats...well, not really. How can you hate a little fur ball that knows it is smarter than you, plays you around her little paw, smirks and comes back to get fed, and you crumble.
Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what the attraction with cats and women is?
Dogs are not as complicated, they are like men...they may stray now and then, but they will always be by your side when it counts...at least the good ones will.
I am more of a dog person...maybe I'm a dog?

I enjoy all animals, Robert. I've had cats all my life, though. Sometimes, we had a dog, too. While we lived as expatriates, we didn't keep dogs because the travel is difficult for them, and they need someone around all the time. Cats, being more independent, aren't so negatively impacted by having their people gone for a month, or two at a time, and our cat (Charlie) loved to travel along. He captivated airline personnel, hotel personnel, and just about anyone else he met for over 20 years. My neighbors have a pit bull that's my good buddy. He watches for me every day so he can help me get the mail, or bring in the garbage can, or whatever else I happen to be doing that needs a dog's touch.

The funny thing is, it's the pedigreed varmint who gets into the most trouble! The "carwash cat" and the "ice-storm cat" are the ones who think they're speeeeshul!

Men are like dogs. Their needs and personality are simple. Give them a rub and a full dish and they're content. Women are like cats. Complex, complicated and convoluted. Manipulative and mysterious. Sensuous and surprising. You really have to understand them to make them purr.

We saw Cirque du Soliel this weekend, the Saltimbanco show. WOW. --------------- Lucky you! I've seen the shows on TV, but never live since they became huge. I would watch them when they were still unknown street performers in Old Montreal. Ever time I have enough money, something else crops up that needs immediate attention, like car repairs. I have all the CDs....the music is wonderful, especially when it was composed by René Dupéré. Some of it is heartbreakingly beautiful. I listen to it in my car all the time.

I just wish I could say I'd seen them as street entertainers when they started at like welts can. Such talent and imagination. Tresbien, non, excellente! --------------- Montreal is a huge circus city. ("Give them cicuses and baguettes!") We have several circus schools here and have an International Festival of Circus Arts every year. The Cirque de Soleil people still give free street performances at the time. They're amazing.

That's too cool welts! I went to Montreal years ago in the 1970's. Beautiful city. It and Quebec on on our to see list. This is one more reason to go! Mon Francais est tres rusty though. It doesn't matter. All the service people know how to speak English. They only pretend not to when confronted by rude tourists.

Come during the Jazz Festival, which has 600 free shows. It also overlaps with the International Fireworks Festival, the Comedy Festival and Les Nuits d'Afrique Festival. I'll be glad to play host.

When is that, in the summer sometime? I know, I can Google it... And I remember everyone does know how to speak English. Back in the day I used to like to embarrass myself by trying to speak French. They seemed to enjoy it, or more likely, find it funny. They always appreciate the effort. Are you a Grand Prix fan? All the fun starts about the middle of June.

Deminmaine-any new updates on the Kennebunk Madame and who's in her little black book? Oh my, oh my, oh my. We don't live far from there, and my wife works in Kennebunkport, where I grew up. Believe me, the town is abuzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I could fill these pages with rumors, innuendo, bs and lies. No facts though. One of the selectmen I know supposedly knows some of the names, and I have heard a couple that may even be credible. Aside from all of the raunchy comments, jokes, etc., there was a very poigniant letter to teh editor that was paraphrased in the editorial from the wife of one of the Johns, who admitted his mis-deed to her. Very sad, he's suicidal, they are worried about their kids being teased, and she is at her wit's end. Very sad. Plus to anyone who takes any pride in their town or the area it is very hurtful to know that it is part of the national media. Christ you could make a Lifetime movie out of this mess. Oh, and my Mother asked me yesterday if I was on the list. She was joking. I think? Dem-it's my understanding the list of her clients is soon to be made public. A modern day Peyton Place.

That's fantastic! Lots of things to see and do. We do pretty well around here, but nothing like that! That's just for three months and isn't even a comlete list. There's a plethora of festivals and events during the other three seasons as well.
