I feel terrible! I was taking the screens out and putting the storm windows down. At that very instant, Sushi saw an escape route to the Great Outdoors. I slammed the window down, not realizing he picked that instant to make his escape to freedom. I slammed it down right on his paw. The screaming was horrific. I hope I didn't break his little foot.

Oh, no, welts! I hope he's okay! Even if he's fine, this will give him the perfect opportunity to play drama queen for all it's worth!

Well, it certainly didn't hurt his appetite any. I just caught him eating a paper towel that had bacon grease on it.

According to my vet, if the cat is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping, it's probably just fine! ;D

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear he has worms. I always fed my cats half a 156 gram can of food twice daily, or two 85 gram cans. One in the morning and one at night. It was plenty. This one inhales the food, vacuums up any dry food I leave out just for grazing, and I usually bring him a bit of fish or chicken from work. Well, more than a bit. A whole bowl full. He eats FOUR times a day! He's still hungry, and steals anything even remotely edible. Yes, he's very active. I'd say he has hyperactivity disorder. He just runs, runs, runs all day, flying from room to room, leaping onto windowsills and flying up and down the stairs. It always sounds like I have a herd of stampeding wildebeest in the house.

When he went for his checkup, the vet said he was fine. She just couldn't listen to his heart because he was purring so much. She was cracking up.

Activity wise, he's a meezer. Sounds just like mine. She doesn't eat that much, though, by a long shot. Sometimes, if a cat has gone hungry somewhere along the way, they'll always be ravenous. It's his hyperactivity that keeps him from getting obese, probably.
I think I remember you saying you had him checked by the vet. I'd think the vet would have found parasites if they were there. Still, if you're concerned, you could take in a stool sample to have it checked.

She did a thorough checkup, mmhmm. Except for the heart. He's healthy as a horse. I wonder why they say that? All horses can't be healthy.....

Sometimes, if a cat has gone hungry somewhere along the way, they'll always be ravenous. ------------- That's what I was thinking. If there's even a speck of food left on a plate, he'll try to bury it or tries to hide food for later, like the Missing Sausages Incident. My parents hoarded food as well, having gone through a famine. Maybe cats and people aren't so different, after all.

Still, if you're concerned, you could take in a stool sample to have it checked. --------------- No, he's been an indoor cat for the last three and half years. Even though Carlotta, the woman who had him, said she didn't much like cats, she took excellent care of him. She's one of those elderly European women who take their obligations very seriously. All his medical visits and vaccinations were up to date, he was fed a really expensive brand of food from the vets, and had every gimcrack and geegaw known to man. Brushes and grooming powders and scratching posts (3) and toys and fancy bedding. "Miss, please make sure you put out his little bed, he loves his little bed with the fuzzy kitten blankets". Well, guess what? As soon as he realized he's allowed on the couch and on my bed, that little bed was ignored completely. He sleeps under the duvet with me. Anyway, where was I going with this? Oh yeah...where could he have picked up worms?

Welts-Look for little grains of 'rice'. Oh, I know about those, Tenn. I was thinking about something maybe a little more microscopic. There's no "rice". I checked.

Flashbacks of a Cat
My movement satisfies my wants, the stage Is mine: a saunter or a blur of pace Displays my rounded skills. With suppressed rage I'll end a life, and with God-given grace Reflect my nature's will, with claws and teeth. Disdainfulness or showy, abject love Are momentary gifts I may bequeath To those who serve my needs: I dwell above Mankind. It shows. 'Magnanimous' (being As that's my middle name) describes me well, But hedonists, we're oh-so kind: seeing As how I treat my supplicants, I'm swell. Feline supremacists - the likes of me - Preside by right, forget democracy.
A poster by the name of Royston on the Crap Board wrote this sonnet. I think it's great.

He's OK. He was turning himself inside out on my gentleman friend's lap last night, while glaring at me and giving me the stinkeye. All seems forgotten this morning.

His paw felt warm yesterday, but today he was purring when I trimmed his nails, so I guess he's feeling no pain.

Woohoo! I just called my internet provider to complain about their fees and the slowness of my internet. I threatened to take my business elsewhere. I was upgraded to a much faster one for ten dollars less a month. They also threw in a $10 discount on my monthly phone bill for a year. Sweet! (And a $20 rebate on my next bill)

Wow! Sounds great, welts. I think my costs are too high, as well, and have been thinking about calling the company and griping. I just haven't gotten a round tuit! Guess I need to get on the stick!

Got that right! I'm the world's worst procrastinator and I've been putting it off, too. Choo Chi is rather quiet this afternoon. While chasing the pterodactyl (feathers on a string attached to a long, flexible metal wand) this morning, she jumped straight up and ended up astraddle mother's walker! A slight miscalculation, I'd guess. She's walking fine, and seems none the worse for wear, but I think she's decided to lie low and see if she can keep any more accidents from attacking her. ;D

Awww, poor baby. That must have hurt. Sushi loves his pterodactyl. It's the only toy he'll play with. Unfortunately, it's interactive. He can't play with it by himself.

Yep. Our three really enjoy the pterodactyl, and it's great exercise for them. Even the big tuxedo gets all four off the ground in pursuit! It does, however, require my assistance to fly. I think it's because Arnie has mutilated the poor thing!
Chooch seems fine, overall. She's in my lap at the moment, purring to beat 60. She may, however, be a little more diligent in her body-aiming in future. ;D

AAAAAAACCCCK! I just had to break up a fishing expedition in the kitchen! Two cats poised over the kitchen sink, in which shrimp were resting in a colander. I do believe I just rescued our dinner! CATS!
