I saw that, vandalshandle. Sad loss of a great fellow who never hogged the limelight. RIP.

Well, everything is back to normal. He's recovered enough to play wrestling and to launch himself vertically from the floor, slamming between my shoulder blades. It feels like getting hit with a basball bat. BANZAI!! LMAO!!! That is hilarious! So this is where my fellow crazy cat ladies hang! Weltz - You may enjoy this if you've not already heard about it: "Like a thief in the night Dusty prowled the streets of one California neighborhood helping himself to hundreds of items. The skilled cat burglar was finally caught on video tape carrying the goods home and since then he has been dubbed "Klepto the cat." Read more: www.digitaljournal.com/article/303822#ixzz24b4PW5y9

"Like a thief in the night Dusty prowled the streets of one California neighborhood helping himself to hundreds of items. The skilled cat burglar was finally caught on video tape carrying the goods home and since then he has been dubbed "Klepto the cat." ------------- Lol! Yes, I've seen it, thanks. It's absolutely hysterical! Last night my son was home for supper and I made him his favourite sausages on the grill. I left the piping hot sausages on the counter while I went upstairs to ask my son if he wanted juice or beer. I was gone no longer than a minute. Yeah, you guessed it. Sausages were long gone. Now, it's one thing to have rounds of pita bread hidden about the house, but Polish kielbasa is another matter entirely. You can't just ignore it. That evening will hereby be known as The Great Sausage Hunt of 2012. We spent the majority of the evening on our hands and knees with flashlights, looking into every nook and cranny. We have a large rolled up 20x20 carpet in my living room, that I've been looking to give away. Sure enough, the kielbasa was stuffed into the "tube" of the rug, to be eaten at a later date. In case of famine or something. I don't know why he's doing this. He's very well fed.

I think they do it to be annoying. Any cat with "ese" at the end of its breed name has a gene for annoyance.

Oh, what a peculiar-looking little thing! Cute, though. Pity she's probably sterile, like most torties. It would be an interesting colouration to develop.

That's a highly sought-after trait in bluecreams (grey and cream). A straight cut of color change down the middle of the nose is a winner! Male tortoiseshells or calicos are sterile, but females aren't, necessarily. We've got a pretty tortie and white named Sylvia. She has the color change down the middle of her nose, but it hangs a right just before the end of her nose. She looks like she has two noses; one black, and one cream. ;D

OMG, Peg! I sure hope she recovers quickly. Sounds like she's coping like a champ with the need for a ventilator. I'll be hoping for that tube to come out soon! Give her my best!

Did you read about the skirmish with the SPCA on the "kitties" thread on EE? How about the redecorating my house with potatoes? That beast will be the death of me.

Cow moves in for greatest photobombing of all timeLadies and gentlemen, behold the greatest animal photobomb of all time. Seriously. There's no topping this cow horning in on a photo of a horse that seems to be stuck in a gate. Could it be Photoshopped? Yes. Anything's possible. But does that really matter? No. What matters is that this photo exists, and it is singlehandedly making the world a better place. So bask in its glory, laugh away and just hope that that horse got that whole gate thing squared away in the end now.msn.com/cow-hilariously-photobombs-horse

We've got Isaac-associated rain today, and predicted for the next couple of days. Hopefully, it will stay showers and scattered thunderstorms rather than turn to an ongoing downpour.

I once (foolishly) attempted to defrost a roast on the kitchen counter. I went to the grocery store, and when I returned ... it was missing. It was found under the dining room table, somewhat worse for wear.
And, yes, we do FEED our cats! (grin) ;D

Friday, Saturday and today we had tornado watches each afternoon and evening. Only one warning for us and that was this evening. No touchdown. Got some good thunderstorms though and very beneficial rains out of them. That's it for us and Isaac.

So beautiful. Thanks, welts. It's uplifting to see proof there are those out there who really do understand, and care, and appreciate. When we see such people as this retired doctor saw, we're so often looking into our own futures. Will someone care? Will people smile, perhaps, or offer a hand in friendship or assistance? It tends to put things in a bit more personal frame of reference.

They'll probably roll their eyes and wish we would hurry up when painstakingly counting out our change.

I always thought of the elderly as being my parents and to cut them some slack. I also know I will be in their shoes soon too.

I always thought of the elderly as being my parents and to cut them some slack. I also know I will be in their shoes soon too. As we all will be (I am now - I'll be 76 in less than a month - whew!!). Unfortunately, we're a throw away society and tend to treat the elderly in that way. Which is why I don't approve of retireement communities - out of sight, out of mind placements is what I call them.
