Robin, add this to the menu, Quote: Dollar Fail? December 31st, 2010 by maxkeiser maxkeiser.com/If the dollar stays below this line, it indicates to me a fail and my trade is to get longer hard assets.

I plan to stick to this thread and to post any and all links to help explain why I feel we are in trouble. I hope to gain more knowledge and this is not my ego looking for attention. After all, none of you know the real me. I hope to wake a few people up to what I feel is coming. I welcome any and all debate. I think we had a great community over on MT. If I'm the only one here, I don't care as this is my form of stress relief!

Meaning Robin, that he'll start hoarding aluminum beer cans.

Thanks Decoy. I love Max and I think some people don't listen to him because he likes gold. What does it matter what he likes when his analysis and facts point to a dollar collapse? This market has many confused. How can gold and the DOW rise? How can the dollar weakening be a good thing for the average American? Maybe this is good in the short term for investors, but long term? People called us insane when we spoke of the PPT and no Bernanke admitted to propping up the market to keep people believing in the "wealth effect". So, faced with this new turn of events, those same people said "so what". So what??? So what happens when he deems the economy fixed? Or, can we expect future liabilities propping up present gains forever? Who pays for this? WHO? There are so many zero liability citizens now and it ain't getting better. As the jobless recovery continues, who pays for the recovery??? How long can you debase a currency? The only reason it hasn't collapses is because it's still the reserve currency. This is changing! online.wsj.com/article/SB123780272456212885.htmlwww.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113650226www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/jan2010/gb20100122_964613.htmHow do we last when our currency is destroyed? Won't oil skyrocket in dollar terms?

Well Robin I do commend you for trying to keep the enlightenment ongoing. The questions and FACTS you have presented here speak clear. I get a kick out of those that refuse to accept REALITY and like the old board the same ones continue on with their turn the cheek and continue the sarcasim. I would like to hear the those that do such speak about that in which you have tried to do here however as you see thus far their objection to do so is no more than a me, me, me and everything is roses. I am sure that you see that kitco chart and the SUDDEN upward rise of GOLD as FIAT currency tries to keep time.

Decoy,
As for the past intense debates and mudslinging on MT between a few, all I can say is different strokes for different folks. FTI is insulated from main street America being in NYC. Just as most politicians are. Many on MT are doing quite well and they're innate defense mechanism keep them in the dark... denying what they know deep down is true. The collapse will take many by surprise. I used to believe America was invincible. But, radicals has taken over and are collapsing us from within. It always looks normal just before it gets ugly. The MSM is waking up a little, but still won't report on a lot of small pieces. Well, add these small pieces together and we have quite the mess brewing!

Robin, I've been to Sweden a few times alone, several times, and in the process made some life-long friends. I knew enough about the country before I went, to take my pay stubs, tax papers, etc. just in case anyone was willing to discuss our different government systems. Not only were some people willing to discuss it, they took me home to meet family/friends who all came prepared with *their* wage/tax information ! ( it was eye-opening for all of us) Sweden is a fantastic country for most of it's residents to live in. They have a clean government that provides education/health care/basic needs for the vast majority of it's citizens. They have very high taxes. They also have a very high quality of life. You can work to "get ahead", but "getting ahead" does not mean living a lifestyle that is 500-plus times more than the average worker. In fact, it is considered very bad form to want to display/flaunt wealth in front of those that have less. I think that is an admirable mindset. When my Swedish friends saw what we pay in taxes ( federal income/state income/property/sales plus the additional costs of secondary education/health care/insurance they were astounded. They were also perplexed as to why so many in the US seem unconcerned about fellow citizens/children/elderly living in poverty. I felt shame looking back at us from "across the big pond". Later, a friend i made in Sweden came out to visit. He really had not believed we have urban areas where the mentally ill homeless are sleeping under bridges, beg on the corners, etc. Often very near to swanky high-rises/hotels. He went back home feeling very glad to pay his "Swedish taxes". I admire the heck out of those Swedes. They have a great system that currently works. It may not work in the future though. Sweden has been providing asylum/refuge for many citizens from third world nations and those new citizens are clashing mightily with the very free society that Swedes are proud of. There is also the perception that the new citizens are using the Swede's generous system, extracting from, but not adding anything to the system ( i.e. make many babies but never work or pay taxes into the system). So...maybe when you have a closed society, where everyone is on the same page more or less, you can provide all sorts of social services without it being exploited. When you have a multi-cultural society, where there are all sorts of belief systems and those who look/behave different are often viewed with suspicion/animosity, it's a much more difficult situation to resolve. We have a lot of complex problems in the US, and like it or not, we are becoming a much more culturally diverse society. How do we get people to work together to solve/resolve our issues, when few people will even agree with what the issues are, let alone agree on the solutions ? And how can we resolve such a mess without working together

Afternoon Robin and Decoy. Always a pleasure. Your struck the nail on the head. It truly amazes me how these same folk continue as we go into the abyss to pump and laugh. As you said Robin, it will take many by surprise, seeing as our dollar for oil/reserve status is changing, they have no idea what happens in other nations. I think it's safe to say fantasy island is sinking. I'll say it BOLDLY, Frank I, Frank Q, Z and Kman will be in for a surprise, eating their words. This isn't far off, but some have to let it all fall apart before they will open their eyes. I will also BOLDLY say these folks are fairly uneducated on history, politics, money, debt, inflation, economics and anything outside of what the MSM or their financial advisor tells them. To take advice from them is like taking your wallet and chucking it out the window.

Well, it's almost time to turn the computer off and get down to PAR-TAAAY mode! I've got a wild one brewing over here. The guest list: - two 8 year old boys - three 6 year old boys - one 3 year old girl - one 3 year old boy And 4 adults! I'm ready for anything!
Kate,
I hear you and wish we could have less big government and more local control. Unfortunately, we have a massive central government that believes in wealth redistribution; whether it be to the Military Industrial Complex, the Prison/Legal Industrial Complex, Wall Street, The Entitlement/Welfare Industrial Complex, The Medical/Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex.... The people with an entitlement mentality will never give back or even contribute. The mega wealthy give what is tax deductible. We've gone away from personal responsibility and personal charity. The government just writes a big, blank check. This will end.
We can't continue to give services away for nothing, but cutting people off is destabilizing. The middle class is expected to shoulder the burden, but it's mathematically impossible.
Mid,
Don't let people get to you. I have never been the type who says "I told ya so". It's so tempting, but I don't because it makes one look like they believe they're superior. Everyone will find the truth in their own way. Many on here have known it for awhile, but just can't admit it to themselves.
To all:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Very good point. Yes, I need to let go and let those who don't want to understand or attack do so, it's their free will. They will all figure it out.
Happy New Year everyone, and let 2011 be even better for all of us here than 2010, no matter what the world has planned for us, we can make the best of it and let's work towards a postitive future.

So, inflation has been essentially ZERO the past two years. Hmmm. allfinancialmatters.com/2010/09/20/whats-the-real-inflation-rate/How long can stocks go up before this form of inflation spills over into the general economy? I talk to patient after patient who tell me they've cashed out some 401k money to upgrade a kitchen or bath; and some just to live. With the FED openly admitting to propping the market via zero interest loans to investment banks, in order to create the "wealth effect", this cashing out has not been felt. Nobody can tell me how long this can last. Can this last indefinitely? I truly don't know, since the FED is giving away free money. Can they raise interest rates on part of their loaned money, thus allowing some to remain in the market? As for the budget, we (the US) brought in $2.1 Trillion and spent $3.5 Trillion. This doesn't count FED "loans". How long do we have before they raise taxes on dividends, capital gains, income...? It must be paid somehow. Cuts will never happen in this political landscape. Raising taxes probably won't happen either. So, it's a game of chicken and the American people are in the front seat of both remotely controlled cars.

Robin, evening to you. As you see I have been a naughty boy today. But I am sick and tired of people such as you , me and others that bring these things to the table for somebody to say WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HECK WE ARE TALKING ABOUT! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON!! Frickin' dummied down american people, it's literally a fricking joke! Then these disinfo cats come into the pic ands say we don't know anything! Just what the heck else is one to presume? It's REAL, it's HAPPENING and some say we are crazy and don't know a thing, THAT IS DISINFO or PAID PUMPERS!

I'll admit I need to catch up on the threads a bit. I've been pretty busy at the office. Sounds like the pumping is in high gear. How people can read the links or see the math and not be scared of what's going to happen is beyond me. Stocks can be worth 10 times what they are today, but this doesn't matter when the economy collapses. This is what the socialist radicals have been calling for; dreaming of. They're close and they can taste it. Class warfare will come if complete collapse doesn't. The problem is, the middle class is the one perceived as the greedy wealthy. The mega wealthy elites will be safe in their secure palaces as the hungry throngs rebel. Here's a fun fact for ya: The US averages about 36,000 deaths each year due to car accidents. We average about how many plane hijackings, terrorist attacks or bombing while in the air? 4 in the past 10 years? Let's assume 4,000 US citizens killed by terrorist activity since 2000. So, my math puts that at 360,000 killed by driving and 4,000 by terrorism. If it's truly about saving lives, then why doesn't the government mandate a governor on all vehicles and only allow them to go 20 MPH? This would save countless lives! Oh wait, this isn't good for the economy. Well, neither is the TSA fondling. Airline stocks are going to take a beating as more travelers choose to drive. Oh wait, this will result in more traffic fatalities! Hmmmmm, gotta love Big Brother. How much did former Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff make from mothballing the explosives detection machines and instead ordered the scanners he sold? Follow the money! Can you invest in a company like this? I can't. Where do you draw the line? I've already drawn mine! How awesome and "lucky" this company was that this kid failed to blow up the plane! Had he succeeded, then there goes all the evidence; and no scanners. Maybe he was brainwashed and given a dud??? No way! People don't do these things to make money! Thanks for the reply, I didn't realize you lived in FL... so it's good to know. No offense to NYC dwellers, but they are insulated. Good people live everywhere, so I'm not making a judgment. You definitely know how bad the economy is then. I understand your mentality though. You're like my ex-brother-in-law. He's in the same line of work as you and is always extremely positive. He feels he can make anything work. This is a good trait. I may seem like a doom and gloom kind of guy who'd be a drag to have at a party, but I don't carry negative energy around. When I'm pulled toward the dark side of the ying yang, I consciously tell myself to think positive. I believe in Karma. In fact, I missed work the other day because I thought I had scheduled the day off. I got a call that there were patients waiting for me. Luckily they all rescheduled and none were angry as all were long time, loyal patients and understood I had my sons. Well, Tuesday I went in for my weekly massage and learned she had called in sick and they forgot to call me! I'm there EVERY Tuesday. I wasn't angry. In fact, I laughed and thought to myself it was Karma.
I've prepared for both the good and the bad. As I've stated, if I'm wrong I have nice shiny metal poker chips, lots of food and liquor and a fat SEP-IRA! If I'm right, God help us all.

I'd have to agree with you Como. I've never been there but have some Swedish friends and yet they are citizens here, still love their home. I think the Nordic countries have a different way at looking at life and community. You take care of your citizens basic needs, people come first. While the uber capitalist would hate this model, it serve people much better and they seem to enjoy it's benefits.
I can't say I agree with all the ways they do things, but it's much better than here. Think about this, we pay just about as much in taxes as the Swedes, yet receive little to nothing in return. They receive much more than us, and more time to enjoy the joys of life and what it has to offer. Many more Europeans are world travelers than us, and in my travels there have met all sorts of people, few of them were from the USA. Even seemed to me the Canadians travel more than us, and they have a more worldly view on things and understandings of people.
So, even if we dislike the Nordic model for socialized society, they are taxed the same, and don't have an empire to take care of like us. At least many don't have to worry about being homeless, starving, or having basic health care like many now in this country are facing. Elderly paying for food and shelter, or medication which they need. This is just plain wrong.
I say any civilized society should either help collectively provide for it's peoples basic needs, or give them the means by setting up opportunity for small businesses and low taxes in which they can prosper as a whole to create wealth and pay for basic needs. Corporate America has not given us that, unless you are in higher positions of the organization.

Excellent point Robin once again. I think many mistake me and some others and doom and gloom. Sure what we speak is not happy go lucky, but it's reality. If continue to do the same thing expecting different results then that's crazy. I am hopeful for the future, but the system we have needs to be understood. We are all connected to it, and if we don't understand how it robs us and takes our wealth, then we can't move to change it.
This is not negative at all, it's a positive. Look at the problem, then address it, instead of continuing to believe in a lie. Maybe I come across as harsh at times, but I'm trying to get some of you to snap out of it, and wake up to what the world has become. Only then can we truly address what is gonig on, and make positive changes. Knowledge if power, and the globalist want to keep you dumbed down and in the dark.
My focus is change. I see it coming, and want to help others see the light. Things could be so much better if we are just honest with ourselves, and address issues at hand. It's really quite simple so long as the masses understand the issues.

You're correct Mid. Some people can't have an honest debate and will never change their minds based upon solid facts. Me, I'll change my mind whenever the evidence tells me to. Some people also judge what's presented based upon who's giving it and not the actually information; which is sad.
Example:
A good friend and patient of mine is a MP for the Air Force. He's very independent like me. He's a fellow seeker of truth. We've been debating 9/11. He believes it was solely terrorists and I believe otherwise. He's no kool-aide drinker. I've shown him evidence of why I believe insiders knew of the attack plan and used explosives to cause the buildings to free fall. I did believe a missile was used at the Pentagon until I saw video evidence of the actual plane. Now, I believe the plane hit the Pentagon, but this doesn't mean people weren't using feeble minded Muslim youths to cover up their Trillion dollar theft. The plane conveniently hit the only area housing the financial records.
I will look at all evidence and make my own conclusions. This is why I enjoy Decoy's threads as well as your own. When people react to honest questions with anger, their argument is weakened. Was 9/11 an inside job? I think there are too many unanswered questions, kind of like JFK and other stuff. Now, how does this effect the market? Hmmmmm. How much money was gained and lost because of 9/11? Only through knowledge can we make intelligent decisions with our wealth.

It does affect the market, trillions missing. Insider trading proven on united and American airlines shorting options recoved from German company. JFK, well we would have abolished or attempted to abolish the Federal Reserve but amazingly enough this very popular president was then assassinated shortly after crossing the Fed. Funny how Andrew Jackson was attempted to be killed for fighting banks, and how Abraham Lincoln didn't take European banking loans from the cartels and spoke of the banking powers, so issued the greenback but was assassinated. Funny Saddam Hussein and not under the thumb of globalist would no longer work with the banking cartels but was then attacked. Funny how in the beginning Hitler (still bad person) was funded by the bankers, but didn't take the banking cartels loans and he rebuild Germany into a powerhouse, that the bankers wanted him gone. He was built up and knocked down. Just historical fact.
It's all out in the open, these folks actually brag about how stupid they think most of you are. It's in their own words. Wake up and smell the coffee, cause it's all true.

Once again Mid, I agree. I avidly study history. I watched a video about the rise of Hitler. At first he was a puppet, until he methodically put the pieces of his evil puzzle together and consolidated power. Military patients have agreed with the Saddam point. He was an evil man as well, he didn't want to play ball with the NWO and was taken out. The war was "legal" in the sense that we set him up by allowing him to invade Kuwait and then turned on him. After Gulf War I the UN established the legal precedent for GWII. My only question is why did we stop short in GWI? Oh well, maybe it was a warning shot. Either way, things happen that are way beyond our pay grade. On the one hand, I do agreed we need order, international laws and of course oil... but we also need honesty. Unfortunately, we'll never have transparency as we're heading toward a more closed police state.

p.s. I listen to Alex Jones as well as Sirius Left and others. Even though he tends to blow up small news events, when you do your own research, you end up learning more about the darker side of the global power elites. Sometimes he's spot on. As for me, I'm happy with my life. I wouldn't want to be born into an elite political or mega wealthy family. Their lives suck! No thanks! Right now, society is being divided by anger. I believe that once one resort to anger, the argument is lost. I've falled for this trap and work everyday not to be tricked again. The difference between happy and sad people is the level of anger that runs their lives; not the amount of money in their bank account. How you react to negative life events determines your level of happiness.

Wow Robin. Probably the best thing you ever said on these boards to date. I'm happy too, just lash out a bit when put on defense. I should learn more from wise ones like yourself. I believe we do live in an attraction based universe, and what we put out comes back to us. I put the truth out, and expect the truth back.

I've been trying to use this thread to vent and to add to my knowledge base. It's a convenient way to post articles and debate their merits. I certainly don't want to copy anyone's threads, but there will be similar information. I'm trying to show fence sitters why I'm so convinced we're in trouble. I want to find the jobs data someone posted showing a drop in eligible workers in the US. If people can see how the government spins numbers to get the results they need for further can kicking, I want to see this for myself. They've corrupted the CPI, Medicare and SS trust funds... how can people honestly look at all of this and still believe the dollar will fare well? Even the jobs data is skewed. I contend that jobs created with debt are counterproductive. If they aren't, then why not give all businesses $250,000 a year business tax credits and tell them to hire 5 people for $50,000 if this is so great. They can't because they know it's a lie. Keynesian theory is wrong!
