Note to self: Not so much RL drinking during the week while reading and posting in the alternate universe. But I
Don't be so damn judgemental. RTD posted a couple of things that made me raise an eyebrow in the past week, but on some levels he so definitely gets me.

malarky, kudos to you for making a decision on your job. Do you have something else lined up or are you taking time to decompress after the stressful holidays?

I ahve definitely made the decision to move on from my job. Unfortunately, I let the cat out of the bag today. I will be formally giving notice to my boss next week, but I'm taking advantage of a huge, financially sound customer base that I have worked with for years for my own personal gain. I know that a couple of my coworkers overheard a conversation I had today with a customer who manages HR for a local company. She has offered to help me with m resume and guide me through mock interviews. I haven't interviewed in eons. I'm not sure if I remember how.

Before some of you get all noble, and start sucking up to the Mods, you should realize what many people are saying over here. On the MSN boards there was absolutely NO freedom of speech. Also, many of the Mods constantly interpreted the MSN COC as they saw fit. If they either didn't agree with or like anything that was written, they would cite a COC that even in the most extreme stretch never justified their warnings, moving of posts, deleting posts, or banning the poster. These same people have simply brought their total bias, and power hungry mentality over to these boards, and they need to be exposed for who they really are.
I am certain that these same Mods will show moonbeam, by just being themselves that they are exactly what I and others are saying that they are. They will also show her, by their control freak actions that they are the ones who will be keeping her boards from being the overwhelming success that they could be w/out them as Mods.
Finally, no one is calling for vile, unending, personal attacks. With that said, we should have the freedom in a conversation to say "What an asshole.", or "You're being an ass" w/out getting the post deleted or the member banned by an anal Mod. We should also be able to freely say Nobama, Bush Beans, or any other criticism of public figures w/out the same end results.
Sucking up causes no interest. A lively debate, however, will bring people in from all over.

A lively debate, however, will bring people in from all over. Stay Put -- at least half the moderators here (myself included) were not moderators over at MSN. We are performing a volunteer function to make this place not only a pleasant experience for the posters here, but also for anyone who might stumble across the site for some reason. Part of that is keeping things civil. This is pretty much a thankless job -- when people disagree with a moderator's action, they complain (often endlessly). When everything is running smoothly, no one thinks about the work of the moderators, and particularly moon, our administrator, in keeping it that way. You may not agree with every decision a mod makes, but realize that, in the end, moderators are human -- we make mistakes and it's impossible to completely remove personal biases from our actions, no matter how hard we try. Constructive feedback on a specific action is always welcome. Generalized criticism of mods for actions that they may have undertaken on another board does nothing to further the development of this board or of the moderators on this board.

I might agree with you on the first part if its only once in awhile otherwise it just becomes a personal attack. Personally, I avoided P&M because of all the name calling of public figures whether it was Obama or Bush. I feel posters do this because they feel their posts wouldn't stand on their own merit without artificial drama. My opinion.
No freedom of speech means to me that someone is putting every word in your mouth or you can't speak at all and obviously that wasn't true on MSN or here. I like moderated boards and I was mostly OK with the lines being drawn on the MSN boards I frequented.

I really appreciate the support I get here and at home. LOL, part of me can envision me in an office job, far removed from my past life of perpetual, physical motion, logging on to be with my cyber support network. Night all. I am still currently employed by a business that expects me to hit the floor running at 7 am.
