That dude is crazy bad-ass. Climbed everest at 50, regularly competes in ironman competitions, ran 100 consequetive miles in the rockies, & competed in the Bataan Memorial Death March.
I would vote for him, based on what I've read so far. The real question is can he win the republican nomination.

Funny, our resident "liberals" like this guy. I think the conservatives on the board will choose to hate this guy based on this fact alone. If all us crazy liberals like him, then he must be even worse than Obama.

He sounds good to me. I'm all for getting the potheads out of jail, and working, among other things.. SO many to choose from.. wonder if he can afford to get his name out. I hope so. NM is wimpy on illegal immigration, though. I need to open the links and check out his stance on that before I give him a complete .

ouramericainitiative.com/issues/immigration-policyNot 100% percent sure about granting them guest worker status after living here illegally for 2 years or more......... I want them to go to the end of the line-- behind the ones waiting... and waiting............. the rest sounds good, though.

Interesting person, to be sure. I'll want to hear more from him. He's got some good ideas and seems to think them through. I'll be looking for a deeper explanation of how he plans to implement. Certainly, to my mind, someone to watch.

I'm beginning to like this man a lot. DH took a look and first thing out of his mouth. "I'd vote for him." He'll contribute to Johnson's run for sure. See what I mean , Ok , Obama , offer him Paris, who wouldn't want a few years in Paris, summers on the coast, chateau for weekend get aways...

Yeah, there are a few things that I'm not sure about him yet.
Wanting to lower taxes & repeal Obamacare - I would want more details on this plan to lower taxes & want to know what he intends to do about healthcare. I didn't agree with everything in the healthcare reform, but I felt it covered some vital issues & wouldn't want those lost in a repeal.
But, I appreciate that he is willing to go after Medicare & SS, I like that he wants to legalize & tax pot, & most importantly I can't vote for anyone that wants to outlaw abortion.
We shall see, but the best republican candidate so far in my eyes.

Wouldn't it be an incredible thing if Americans could just vote for the right man/woman for once?

I think the conservatives on the board will choose to hate this guy based on this fact alone. I'm conservative and, while I can't say I'd vote for him (I like to "read the book" before I endorse it), I do like the prologue. As I said earlier, he has piqued my interest. C'mon Angel...we know all liberals love Obama. So, if you "like" Johnson, he can't be worse than BHO. As a lot of dems are finding out and a lot of repubs found out with Bush...nobody's perfect. There will never be a POTUS I agree with 100% of the time.

You don't spend your time on these boards bashing liberals for what you think they believe & starting threads about how all liberals are such morons that they are too stupid too even realize their own stupidity. It is those conservatives that would be unable to wrap their head around the idea of a liberal liking this guy. You, on the other hand, seem to be able to form your own opinions & look at all sides of the issues instead of just spewing talking points you heard on fox. Or do I give you too much credit? ;D

Funny, our resident "liberals" like this guy. I do find that amusing. I guess if we give liberals pot and abortion, we can actually go ahead and pair down the government, and balance the budget?

Or, maybe if you paid attention, then you would realize that many of us liberals do believe that some services need to be cut back & the budget needs to be balanced. But you are so busy telling us what we believe & why we are stupid that you never actually take the time to listen & realize that most of what you think of liberals is not quite accurate, especially when it comes to many of the "liberals" on this board.

Palm why you find it amusing is beyond me, but then again in remembering your posts , all negative and rarly any constructive ones on issues, just the ..yep you got it, it's not surprising. That you were not familiar with him, as a Republican and conservative is a surprise to me, he hasn't been in a closet, and I had interest in him for some time now, I just mentioned him here the other day. It's correct, I will have to hear more of what he believes in, how much pandering he will stoop to, he will I realize itn do some of that, to those conservatives who I just disagree with so much, and if I can stomach it. Hopefully he will not just be another yadda, yadda type, and understand the role of a POTUS and will have to see what he expects to accomplish as POTUS. I don't expect to agree with all his ideas, especially being a conservative , and that's fine with me , but yes I am interested in what he is going to be campaigning on. If it's going to be a constant dissing of Obama , that will do it for me, I hope he is better then that, so we'll have to see.

I never said I wasn't familiar with him. I've heard him before. It's a Ron Paul wet dream that he would ever get the nomination- let alone get elected. He could run as an independent, or libertarian, I guess.
And don't think you libs are fooling me. You've contradicted yourselves like crazy expressing support for this guy. When push comes to shove, you're all going to line up like good little Obamatrons and pull the lever for Obama just like my Republican friends are going to vote Republican.

"You've contradicted yourselves like crazy expressing support for this guy" Palm your really not that much into politics are you, like it's a big game, diss the other guy , no discussion, just diss em and have fun,. Where did anyone, definitely me , say I support him? I want him, he's my man?? I brought out he is interesting, he , to me is some one I want to know a lot more about and one speech is not going to do it. There are issues he has to discuss, ideas he believes in, places he won't go , others he might have a open mind for. No one promised you anything and then will go back on their promise. The other day on the thread , I mentioned two Republicans I would like to know more about, no guarantee of, just want to know more about and if what I found out was interesting and promising, would seriously consider after looking over Obama, his pluses, many, his minuses, some, but your talking like I promised to go to the prom with you and am now looking for a way to say forget it. Personally, the Republican problem is nominating either of my two possibilities because I don't think they pass the Republican litmus test that is so important to the movers and shakers of that party. Romney, I don't see it, not from the normal conservative but the hard liners, and here I don't know enough to say, but your party's problem, is your parties problem. You want a voter like me , don't discount me, you need ones like me, and I do vote, 100 % unless on the death bed and even then... give me a main line Republican, forget it.....especially if they are anything at all like here , on all Pubs who post here, except Safe, a few more, have to think about who, but a few, ..all the rest of you, nice folks to chat with but to really have a dialog with you all, a serious dialog, not happening. Don't take it personal , just the way it is....

I'm one of those dastardly libs you foam at the mouth over and more than once, I HAVE voted for a Republican if they were the best choice....granted it was in state/local elections, but they were the best choice....and not just the lesser of two evils....
hate to burst your lib hating bubble with that kind of fact.... but only *I* know how or why I vote a certain way....

Real interesting guy, b2r. I don't 100% agree with him, impossible, right, but he sounds like the real deal. He might be treated like Ron Paul, though. OR, it could be after this Obama fiasco the country may be ready for a Paul type, only young.... Interesting.
