Curious how evangelical Mike Johnson can ignore all the evidence and witness testimony and try to keep the ethics investigation of Gaetz secret.
Wonder if he would be ok with Gaetz being the young adult group leader at his church - or is that a more important position than Attorney General?

If you read any conservative websites, this is all a master plan by Trump. Gaetz is the sacrificial lamb. He knows he won't be confirmed, but then DeSantis will appoint him to Rubio's Senate seat. Gaetz can blow up the Senate like he did the House and get rid of the Rino's. Win/win the ethic committee report will not come out. Saw where hackers supposedly stole that report. 🍿

Two more pluses of their theory is: Those that vote against Trump will be doomed to lose their seat in their next election Will make liberals heads explode To me it sounds like Trump is going to govern like he did during his first term. What ever crazy idea he comes up with and then they will have to work backwards to try and make it work. Reading several books about his first term, some of the craziness I had totally forgot about. Senators up for re-election in 2026 I can see being at risk. 2028 perhaps. 2030 not so much. So who just got re-elected? Any no votes there?

Saw a conservative comment on an MSN article that said Gaetz would never have sex with a 17 year old, he is too mature for that and we need to take his word for that.
Allrighty then. 🤣

Trump to nominate Mehmet Oz for CMS administratorPresident-elect Trump said Tuesday he is nominating television personality and doctor Mehmet Oz to serve as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator. Oz unsuccessfully ran for Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022 and has been Trump ally ever since. “There may be no Physician more qualified and capable than Dr. Oz to Make America Healthy Again,” Trump said in a statement, referring to the slogan pioneered by Robert F. Kennedy Jr, his nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services. “Dr. Oz will be a leader in incentivizing Disease Prevention, so we get the best results in the World for every dollar we spend on Healthcare in our Great Country,” Trump said. “He will also cut waste and fraud within our Country’s most expensive Government Agency, which is a third of our Nation’s Healthcare spend, and a quarter of our entire National Budget.” Like Kennedy, Oz has no experience running a massive bureaucracy. CMS operates Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the federal Healthcare.gov ObamaCare exchange. Rest of the ridiculous nomination article here: Trump to nominate Mehmet Oz for CMS administrator

No need to see a real doctor, you know, just cut out the middleman!

At least Dr Oz has some relevant experience as a physician. Although, I don't know how we keep people healthy at the same time that we gut the EPA and the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts. Going to be fun times watching them speak out of both sides of their mouths.
On a serious note, small and rural hospitals are in trouble. Can't wait for more of them to close and wait for the wearing of people who were affected in these raw areas.

We are well and truly doomed. I swear, all we need are Toto and Dorothy to show up.

We have definitely jumped the shark. He probably believes(rightly so) that the Senate won't reject all of his unqualified nominees. So some will be confirmed, and we get to see the consequences

Small rural hospitals are predominantly, though not solely, in deep red areas, often farming areas. So they should understand this: you reap what you sow*. *I really wish this were all nothing but a bad dream but alas.

When I read about Dr. Oz, I thought it was a joke. Yes, when DH told me about it I said I missed the good old days when this would have been satire on The Onion or maybe Russian misinformation.

Just reflecting on his picks for his cabinet and his first term in office. What's funny is his pics are to mostly own the libs. Republicans proved during his first term they couldn't govern. They have spent the last 10 years staffing their office with media consultants instead of legislative ones...for that sound bite you hear. Let's see him try and govern with his pics that look good on TV, but have no experience.
Just remember Bush handed Obama an economy that was in the grips of a financial meltdown. Trump handed Biden an economy in the grips of a pandemic. Dems need to prepare for what Trump II is going to hand them.

When I read about Dr. Oz, I thought it was a joke. All of trump's nominations are a joke. No they are great. They will be perfect to rip apart the existing depts status quo. No rebuilding them I don't know. Maybe dismantle and no rebuild.

Also: Federal Inquiry Traced Payments From Gaetz to WomenA document prepared by federal investigators bolsters claims by women who say they were hired for sex by Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s choice for attorney general, who denies wrongdoing. Federal investigators established a trail of payments from Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s choice to be attorney general, to women including some who testified that Mr. Gaetz hired them for sex, according to a document obtained by The New York Times and a lawyer representing some of the women. The document, assembled by investigators during a three-year sex-trafficking investigation into Mr. Gaetz, is a chart that shows a web of thousands of dollars in Venmo payments between Mr. Gaetz and a group of his friends, associates and women who had drug-fueled sex parties between 2017 and 2020, according to testimony that participants are said to have given to federal and congressional investigators. At the parties, women, and a girl who was 17 at the time, were paid for sex, according to accounts of the participants’ testimony from people briefed on what they said. The document bolsters recent claims by a lawyer for two of the women who say they had sex with Mr. Gaetz for money. It shows thousands of dollars in payments Mr. Gaetz made to both of the lawyer’s clients. Rest of article here: Federal Inquiry Traced Payments From Gaetz to Women
