I was outside and pulled up two bunches of floating pennywort and they are drying on the dock. I know it took over an hour to get it out of the water. The shower was lovely and I am just waiting for the advil to kick in.

I’m downing advil tonight too because a freakin’ band has been playing since 6pm and it’s now after midnight. They’re basically set up in my backyard and the police dispatch said “they have a permit” which I guess allows them to play terrible music all night long. Surely the permit was only for Saturday?!? I have such a headache.

I've been accumulating a donation pile over the last couple of months and DH went through all his heavier winter shirts and sweaters yesterday to decide on keepers and givers so I think we will make a Goodwill run this week. I think I'll make a quick sweep through my kitchen cabinets to make sure I'm not wasting space on stuff we don't use anymore.

I hope the music finally stopped startsmart and that you’re feeling better today. Left for Oct:- mail passport application/Mon - anaesthesiologist appt/Wed WFH all day today and Wed morning. I go to school two days this week, which is challenging. Running the dishwasher and catching up on laundry today since I'm WFH.

I'm sitting on the living room sofa relaxing in my clean, organized and decluttered house after an excellent party yesterday. I'm a happy woman. Nothing like having a party for me to push me to get the house in good order. And I'm amazed looking around at how the clutter had accumulated.
Now I just need to keep things under control. I can do that, I think.
If you're planning a party I heartily recommend a menu of skewered foods that can be grilled.

Yesterday was Costco and getting a flu shot at the same store.
Today I did a load of laundry
Trimmed all the plants along the front walk
The painters are caulking and prepping the house for paint this week. So excited to see the new front door color!

A very quick drive-by as I've been out and am behind here at the office.
I'm preparing for a Goodwill drop off this week, so I've been poking around the house looking for items to add. Yesterday I cleared out the cupboard which held drink tumblers, etc. I removed the rubber shelf liner, sprayed the two shelves, wiped it down, let it dry, and put back the liner. Items I kept: The two vases I kept when going through them a few years ago, a beverage pitcher with lid, filtered water pitcher, the old school Coleman thermos, and my Big Bubba insulated beverage mug. 8 things went into the donation box, and I have one item to the neighbor kiddo.

What color will the door be painted? We have a red front door on our gray house. It’s starting to fade where not covered by screen door

I was at school all day, and I go back on Thurs. I realized that I may not go back after Thurs! So I started bringing Stuff home. I took the two books I'm keeping and my cutlery set (a gift). I'll bring the rest home on Thurs, but I wish I had thought about this sooner. Left for Oct:- anaesthesiologist appt/Wed I considered adding another Admin task for Oct but I just couldn't face it.

I had my information from Ancestry converted to a spreadsheet because I have idea of how far off my genealogy software is. Yes, I paid $14 to have it done. I found directions on Google, but I know that was $14 well spent.
So I spent a couple of hours cleaning up the software. So a little progress. If I can keep doing that most days, I will get to the end. I will also reward myself with actually researching.

The door and porch ceiling are going a soft blue called Open Air. It's very close to the Haint Blue that is used in New Orleans. Front porch and both decks are getting a very durable paint/stain called Sand Castle. My trim is Ultra White so it's going to look really pretty when finished.

Left for Oct: - anaesthesiologist appt/Wed
I had a horribly stressful afternoon. I went to the pre-op appt and asked the anesthesiologist what time my surgery is scheduled for next week. He looks it up ... and says but you're not scheduled. I show him the letter from the surgeon saying I'm having surgery that day. I FREAKED OUT. He said, when we finish, go straight to the surgeon's office to see his assistant.
There are two assistants for the two orthopedists. The one I saw on 2 Sept was brand new ... it was literally her first day. She never booked the OR! Today the other, experienced assistant was able to get me scheduled. THANK GD!!! I am SO GRATEFUL!!!

I was crying and hyperventilating by the time I reached the assistant's office. She was GREAT!!! She called person A, who told her to call person B. I'm freaking out, she's telling me (kindly) to hold it together, while talking to these two people on the phone. She was pleasant, funny, and basically cajoled the OR nurse into adding me to the schedule. What a star!!! Then I had to wait 45 min to REDO my pre-admission. I had already done it online, but never received the final paperwork. The assistant guessed (correctly) that since I hadn't been scheduled, the admissions department never processed my file. All's well that ends well!!! I'm not looking forward to going into school again tomorrow, but it'll be the last time for a while.

Hello, I'm here sort of. Life had become so overwhelming with all the challenges of the well and everything surrounding that over the summer and then everything that is going on at work. I just stepped back from a lot of my online activities for a while to take a deep breath, recenter, and think about my life.
debthaven best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery

I am sorry you need cataract surgery Iggy aka IG I had my first eye done in the winter. It made driving in snow so much easier. The second eye was not done until I moved here and it was also done during the winter. With the first eye, I was really fighting driving on snowy days. It was so much easier when I could see better. Once it's over, you will be happy that you can see better.

I got organized for next Tues. This morning I: - sorted my travel toiletries - replenished my toiletries bag - made room for the new sweatpants on my shelves - took out my cable/charger case - took an extra extension cord from the "electric bag" - put aside my Crocs (to use as slippers) ETA: In the end I packed my bag! I just need to add my Kindle.

The need has been creeping up on me for the past few years, but it's gotten to a point that one eye is so bad my eyeglass prescription doesn't help anymore. When it's done I should just need reading glasses.

Nice productivity, soupandstew, snapdragon and finnime! debthaven excellent job at getting organized! I am sorry about the scheduling difficulty, but glad they got it ironed out. Thank you for sharing your cataract surgery experience, TheOtherMe. I am nervous because we have just two eyes, but the place where I am going was highly recommended by two different eye doctors and numerous friends. When asked, the surgeon said he's been doing this for over 30 years. Similar to seriousthistime, for the first time in 40 years, I won't need to wear glasses to see far away. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone.

A tip , in case you need it. I had very strong prescriptions for distance for both eyes. This made driving a bit challenging during the in between weeks since I could use my glasses anymore, yet I did not feel comfortable driving using just the one eye that was operated on. So I came up with the idea of my "pirate" glasses. I just popped out the lens for the eye that was done and used my one-lens glasses for driving. It looked weird (I kept checking LOL) but it worked perfectly fine. It has been several years now but I am still loving my glasses free life.

Glad to be of help Iggy. Just keep your tiny screwdriver at hand as, with just one lens, you may need them to ensure the other lens stays in.
For tbe record: I also used my glasses that way whenever I was alone in my office (which was most of the time) but took them off when someone came in - I may not be alk that vain but it DID look weird.
