Great job on the doors startsmart . You've been working hard on them! Kids and grandkids came for 24h on their way back home. I washed the towels but not the bedding because they'll be back again in about a month. I am working a total of 2 hours this week. I hope we hear about those other classes soon.

This week is winter break TheOtherMe . Three of my professor students are away, which means even fewer hours than usual.

I fell asleep earlier than usual last night and was up and showered before the alarm went off this morning.
Today is printer day. I need to get this started so I can work on getting things printed off for taxes.

Quick check in.
I have been on the same routine lately. A little of a bit of everything. Still adding to the donation bag as I slowly go though the various storage places. Several items have been trashed. A little craft work has been on the table. Currently have two projects in stages.
Classes resume tomorrow so that routine will be back in session. Have a doctor's appointment Wednesday and may use that day to run any errands I need to do since I will be "dressed" for the public. Pretty sure a small grocery run will be that day as well. I am beginning to gather material and other items for an upcoming craft retreat and I also need to book plane tickets for the one this summer.
Plan to get a haircut in a few weeks and while I have a fresher cut get my license renewed.
Time for lunch and then to some type of project -- may do a little of everything so I can feel that things are getting done.

I was given 5 Staff students today. They'll start in two weeks. I wanted 4 but the woman is very good to me, so I took 5 to make her life easier. That should give me about 10-12 hours of teaching a week, which is what I wanted. I'll be happy for the money. And I won't need to do any regular/student classes next fall.

Today is printer day. I need to get this started so I can work on getting things printed off for taxes. This printer is being a pain in the butt. It will print out in color (badly) but when I changed it to B&W it won't print. It's older and was never opened in the box but the windows don't match up. I had the feeling this would occur. I am going to go with Epsom and the large ink containers. I don't want to be fighting and trying to trouble shoot this older printer. And I refuse to go on the damn count the page thing HP has going on. So today is not a bust exactly, but it has been annoying.

My techie son calls printers the spawn of Satan.
When I moved and ran into trouble setting up my printer in the new place, I texted him to complain about it. He texted back that if something is frustrating you, there's a good chance it's a printer.
When I changed my WiFi to a different company, they set it up so I could reuse the same network name and password. After they left, I saw they had a typo in the network name so I had to reset all my devices. It was impossible to reset my printer! I read all the troubleshooting online and tried over and over to get it reset, and then contacted HP tech support, which was SO useless that I spewed a bit of hate their way and basically said I was done with HP. I can't print wirelessly anymore. When this printer bites the dust, I'll move on to Canon or Epson.

We have always had Canons. They work well but they are also a PITA to set up!!! DH is tech-savvy too, but it still takes him ages and a lot of cursing!

My printer is an HP and I like it. I refuse to do the auto refill. The best thing I did was buying a laser printer. I don't print enough to justify the monthly thing HP does and ink always dried up. No more.
When I set up the new computer, it found the printer on it's own and all I had to do was sign in to my HP account and it did the rest. I was shocked.

I am on a mission to declutter ... unscented Ikea candles! When my friend's husband died over 8 years ago, she asked me to buy a 5 pack of Ikea candles for her. I bought one for myself, but only used one because I prefer scented candles. DH and I bought a bunch of scented candles last week, so I decided to burn the old ones to make room. Some of them burn for 40 hours! Three days later, I'm still working on the first one. Good thing I'm not working much this week.

saveinla I am so sorry to hear about your eye. seriousthistime I use both a traditional and immersion blender. The former I use for cocktails and smoothies, the latter for large pot soups. It looks like everyone was productive over the weekend. Well done. The downstairs toilet seat finally completely broke and DH asked if he could buy a commercial replacement which has no lid. I said no, LOL. Into the donation box went a pair of free socks DH acquired and my not very worn-out coupon organizer which I haven't used in several years. Something new I did this weekend and I'm going to try to continue: Get the laundry done Saturday so I'm not spending Sunday worried about the timer and stairs or putting sheets back onto the bed Sunday evening when we should be relaxing. Also efficient: Yesterday evening I processed this week's fresh supper produce at the same time as lunch veggies and berries. It will be nice not to fuss with it after work. Also: Restocked the bottled water in the downstairs mini fridge and my nightstand Emptied and refilled the dishwasher, ice trays and Keurig twice Refilled two hand soap dispensers Emptied 4 garbage cans and scrubbed 2 toilets Put Valentine's Day decor away and displayed the St. Patrick's Day items. Very few these days, by choice, but festive.

When I strip a bed (generally early in the day) I remake the bed immediately with the other set. It's SO much easier than having to do it late in the day or at night! Just a thought! We replaced our own bedding in the Jan sales. We got 30% off one set, and 40% off the other. With two sets, they wear out less. And you never have to replace both at the same time. (One set wore out. We LOVE the other set. It's 5 years old, so when I saw it was 40% off, we bought "for later".) Thinking of you saveinla and hoping for good news tomorrow. Please let us know how it goes.

4/10 kitchen doors are painted and reinstalled! So far I’ve done 4/6 of the drawers and I’m about to replace #4 and refill it.
And of course the puppy got too close to some touch ups so now he’s sporting a lovely bit of green paint on his ear and head. The finish line is close!
I’m going to end up replacing the floor tiles too, some of them had to come out and I’m measuring to figure out how many boxes I need and when I can get them.

I just fixed my mom's HP printer. She got a new router and it didn't work. I deleted the printer out of the devices section and I deleted all the HP software. Her printer had a little screen so we were able to use that to connect the printer to the network. Then I downloaded the software again and installed it successfully. Of course now the cartridges are pretty dried out so she needs new ones but it did print pages.

Around 2pm today the sun was shining. So I loaded up .y car and made a Goodwill run. There have been a lot of showers all day long but I managed to unload between periods of rain so all that stuff is gone now. I am relieved. Yesterday I missed my window for dry weather and the next couple of days are going to be wet again.
Now to start a new pile of things that need to go...

6/10 kitchen doors done! All of the hinges are back on and now it’s just painting the last 4 doors and 2 drawers. I’ll be very happy to have my dining table back when that’s done. I also posted this video of Lincoln sassing me and the number of views made me 😮 : imgur.com/gallery/Xy9D0w4

Thank you debthaven. The doctor cleared me for travel, so I will be going on vacation. The eye is healing but slowly. I am supposed to leave the plain contacts for another 2 weeks and see him again after I come back. If they don't see good progress, they will do the same thing they did last time and scrape the cornea. I really don't want that done, as its very very painful. Hopefully the time off will help with the healing and I can come back rested.

That is wonderful news that your eye is healing saveinla !!! I hope that you continue to heal well and that they don't need to scrape the cornea. I'm so glad you can go on vacation. I have scratched my corneas twice (decades apart) because of lenses, so I have an idea of how painful it can be. Both times I BEGGED my DH (my ex the first time) to PLEASE put me out of my misery. They both refused. In retrospect that was probably a good thing. It was BY FAR the worst pain I have ever experienced. I'm sending you good/healing thoughts.
