Aptera has a very interesting commuter vehicle. i have been watching that company for literally decades. Rivian was just sold by Buffett. i don't know if that means anything. Musk might become battery recharging king. that is something that we would see in about 5 years. i don't wish him any success. but he might get it. first to market has a lot of bearing on that.

Do you mean genius as in IQ or as in savvy? They're not guaranteed partners.

Yeah, genius has a definition and I think he meets it (iq of 140 or more) While that is Nobel prize level shizzle, it is not relevant to the novel peace prize, or to running companies, per se.

I think anyone that calls their child X Æ A-Xii ......... is a supreme attention seeker.
Doent mean they are not bright..... just not functioning like other people.

I'm sure he is a genius and his ways are a little strange, but hard to argue with his success. He seems to have a way of willing things to get done.

He's been involved at the founding or near founding of Tesla, SpaceX, Solar City, Paypal, another company with a big exit before Paypal. He was an original investor in OpenAI. You could argue that he wasn't the brains behind any of those operations or maybe even the driving force, but I don't think it's a coincidence that he has had so much success. A little luck never hurts, but I'm not that cynical to think it was all luck.

I didn't say I admired him, I just said he probably would be considered a genius. From an IQ perspective, I'm sure he's a genius. From a business building perspective, he looks like a genius. I don't hold any of these tech CEOs, politicians, or celebrities in high regard because I'm sure they have some very large deficiency in some other area of their life. If you've ever read the book on Steve Jobs, he was basically a maniac as well, although he wasn't on the spectrum like Elon.

I’ve worked closely with 4 CEOs. Generally not nice people but they ran their companies well. In 2 cases completely turning around companies that were failing
SpaceX revolutionized by landing rockets upright and being able to reuse. Elon took Tesla successfully through self admitted production Hell to most successful EV company (maybe China’s closing in) I bought my Tesla S late 2017 and company was still shaky then. Loving my Tesla!
Being a genius not pertinent to running a company , neither is being a ‘nice’ guy

basically, he already has enough money, so he can say that.
but he is not doing his shareholders and stakeholders any favors.
i guess they can fuck themselves, too.
edit: he is working on becoming PharmaBro.

No shareholders for Twitter so no financial damage except Musk. And if company fails then damage to those who lose their jobs

Except Musk used Tesla stock to purchase Twitter. If Twitter goes bankrupt, what happens to Tesla’s stock price?

And if company fails then damage to those who lose their jobs i just figured that there was more than one owner of X, but i was WRONG. so yes, there is only financial damage to Musk. i KNOW that X is not a public company- which is why i carefully said STAKEHOLDERS. but since he is the sole stakeholder, the damage is all his.

If Twitter goes bankrupt, what happens to Tesla’s stock price? i would argue that Tesla will be greatly damaged by this distraction for Musk, who is unable to focus FULLY on Tesla, now. but it might not matter in the end. the Tesla Power Wall is on it's way to dominance in the energy storage business. Tesla might end up being worth three trillion dollars in five years because of it. that old first to market thing. edit: i concede that Musk has every right to run X into the ground, and probably will. oddly enough, that might benefit him more than running it well.

I hadn't realized he was sole owner, that makes his response a lot more understandable.
