How about instead of "thoughts and prayers" we try "policy changes and accountability."

5pm update has provided nothing new, just guidances for the locals for how to report sightings.

My sister lives 1.5 hours away from Lewiston. Her company told everyone to work from home today.

He would have faced the death penalty anyway. Saved Maine residents a trial and a lengthy time in jail until his execution.

I haven't heard much/anything about his family, or his relationship with them. Do you think they'll pay for his burial/cremation? I'm guessing, they'd go with cremation, because it's less expensive and to avoid the worry of his grave being desecrated, or something nasty. What a nasty, horrible person he was, the last days of his life, here on earth.

Most likely, the NOK will ask them to properly dispose of the body. Maybe cremate him and scatter the ashes in an unpublished place. No physical record of his remains.

Is that all the family he has left? No wonder I haven't heard much about them. I think you're right. That's probably what will happen.

At his home, he left a note for his 16-year-old son with all his banking information and the news said some rants about who knows what in the note. Then I read that the son lived with his mother who is the killer's ex-wife. Now that I think of it, he does have a sister as she was mentioned in the news. The news said she had been contacted and it was the sister who suggested her brother picked the bowling alley and restaurant because that is where the brother and his ex-girlfriend frequented when they were together. The news suggested with the sister information, that he might have been aiming to find the ex at one of those places the night of the shooting. I also think the news said (I think I heard it on the news) that the killer was hearing impaired and that he finally got a hearing aid and overheard in the past the hearing-impaired bowlers and the bowling alley making fun of him. He had allegedly never heard them making fun of him in the past because he could not hear them. Who knows.

He had allegedly never heard them making fun of him in the past because he could not hear them. Who knows. He started hearing voices urging him to shoot up a local military site. His family tried to assure him the voices were in his head. I actually feel sorry for him. He told people he was hearing voices. He turned himself into a mental health facility and they let him go after 2 weeks. The non existent mental health care failed him. The legal system failed him. Now he’ll be remembered as a vile monster who murdered people. Imagine what might of happened if he got help. 18 people wouldn’t be gone.
