I use all of them except Apple Pay; I don't do Apple. Zelle, for larger amounts with someone I know well. Paypal and Venmo for other money exchanges. Google Wallet for events. Checks and cash, also, but they are inconvenient much of the time. For my baking business I accepted any of these, and received payment in all. It worked fine.

Well, now there's $148 in my Apple Cash "account". DS#1 sent me money twice, and I'm not sure why on the first one. I need to figure out how to spend that at the store to lessen it.

I use both PayPal and Venmo. Both are linked to a small checking account. Use a virtual card number for charging on Paypal and lock it when not in use. I did use it in the past to accept payments when I tutored but I haven't tutored once Covid hit. I do small craft shows and use Square (also linked to that small checking account) to accept CC payments but just recently started using Venmo after constantly being frequently requested to pay by it. I printed out my QR code for them to scan. I waited until the end of craft show season (I didn't have a lot in the account) to transfer it to that bank account.
I haven't spent any money using Venmo but DIL does.

Why not just transfer it to your checking account? Well, I’d have to figure out how to do that. When it was under $100, I wasn’t too worried about it. It’s still at $146, so I need to investigate that option. (I don’t have any idea where that $2 went!)

Well so much for my banking app that I was so happy with. My husband got a paper check this week due to the holiday, and when I tried to open my bank app it had been upgraded and my phone no longer supports it. My phone stopped getting Android updates a few years ago and the new bank app requires Android 9. There are youtube videos on how to install a version of it on my own, but I don't want to do banking using a random privately adapted operating system.

I have $96 sitting in my Venmo and I always think that someone will ask me for payment for something and that little fund sitting there will just be waiting to cover it. But, no one has asked me for money for over a year. Someone did send me money to cover lunch last August. So, there it sits.
