I store bins of dog food in the oven. I started a couple of years ago when my one dog started helping herself to the bins that had been kept on the countertop for years. Just before Thanksgiving, I forgot to take the bins out before preheating the oven. I was still in the kitchen when I started to hear pieces of kibble hit the oven bottom from the hole that had melted in the bottom of one bin. I had to take the bottom of the oven apart to get all the kibble that had gone down vents.

Over the stove DD uses sometimes as does hubs Have a cover for dishes but also use paper towels I take the glass plate out once a week and put in dishwasher I wipe it out if something is messy and clean it when taking the plate out. When I wipe the stove top off which is generally daily at night I wash the front panels on the microwave too. Usually with some kind of grease cutter like on the stove.
Don't like dirty microwaves.
