Yeah, I second this, if you are getting nowhere with AAA, contact your insurance company and have them handle the claim. Assuming you have full coverage, part of what your policy covers is representing you in court. So they can pay for the repairs, then they sue AAA to recover the cost of repairs. The problem with doing it this way is you have to come up with your deductible. Know your insurance coverage. I was not in a car accident. My car insurance does not apply. My car was in a car accident.Do you only have liability? Otherwise, this is misinformation. If your car is stolen, you weren't in an accident. If your car is side-swiped, you weren't in an accident. If a tree falls on your car, you weren't in an accident. Sure, you would rather their insurance cover it and not have to file a claim against yours. We have something called "chargeable accidents," including uninsured motorists and hit-and-runs, that will increase your rate even though you aren't at "fault." Well, technically it isn't a rate increase; it is the loss of an "accident-free discount" but the same result. andi9899, tell one of us that we are wrong that her insurance company should cover this if she has comprehensive and AAA won't.

Also, if I did go through my car insurance I am subject to my deductible. It is high, $2K, because the car is old.

AAA covers towing. If I did not have AAA and did not use a AAA towing company, yes I would go through my car insurance. FWIW, I did study car insurance years ago when I almost did Priamerica to make money/have employment. I'm not an idiot, I'm tired, under slept and trying not to be hospitalized. (Yes my lack of sleep and sinuses are that bad.)

Happy Birthday! Here's hoping something amazing happens like AAA doing the right thing.
I'm confused though - why lock this thread and start a new one. To me, it makes it harder to follow.
