No modern American person has ever been under such a brutal assault as President Donald J. Trump has endured over the past several years. The mechanisms of the worst elements of a corrupt and corroded global government, and every rotten and weaponized institution within it, has exclusively targeted Donald Trump. Yet, he remains standing – empowered by something larger and more unexplainable than any force we comprehend. Those words are not arbitrarily chosen. They are the reality of our situation and not an intellectually honest friend or foe would dispute them. No one has withstood more unilaterally focused assault as we have seen upon President Trump. Yet, he remains standing – impervious and still swinging for the fences in every effort. It is one of the most remarkable things to see and experience in history. theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2023/03/18/president-trump-they-are-killing-our-nation-we-must-save-america/#more-244462And 30% of the country feel this way. This is so hard for me to understand. Becoming president doesn’t suddenly make you a great person. If you look back at Trump’s family, all the way back to his grandfather, you see a history of con games - against the tax man, vendors and clients. If you look at Trump himself, you see a history of infidelity, cruelty to his kids and wives, and serial bankruptcy. You also see a history of him using his stable of lawyers to intimidate others, including prosecutors, to drop their lawsuits against him. Above all, you see a selfish, greedy, narcissistic man who expects to always win, at any cost and regardless of any laws against it. But once he became a president, did these people think Trump would suddenly abandon his self serving ways and become noble? We only have to look at the other past ignorant or shady presidents to know that doesn’t happen. I don’t know if the 30 percent is willfully ignorant of who Trump has always been and will always be, or if they put their faith in him so long they can’t admit he conned them. They deserve to have a better hero to idolize. Conman Trump isn’t worth their devotion or hard earned money.

In 2016 people were looking at an alternative to government and politics as usual. Trump was an unknown, promising to drain the swamp. Of course then he filled it with inexperienced self serving people. The unprecedented FBI investigation sealed a victory for trump. Hillary was found innocent of wrongdoing and we were stuck with a corrupt president.

An indictment won't hurt and might help Trump in his pursuit of the GOP nomination. It won't help and might hurt him in the general if he is nominated.

Would we be able to notice any difference? While he (and/or his handlers) has shown a lot of cunning I have not seen anything to suggest real intelligence so there may not much be for him to lose.

I believe a majority of voting Americans would not perceive trump to be be an indicted victim but an indicted criminal. A vast majority of Americans have had more than enough of trump. And a vast majority of Americans thought Hillary would be president OMFG. That was 2015/2016. The lady is retired now. Let her be.

I wish they would frog-march his Oompah Loompa-hued posterior out of Florida. The Mar-A-Lago Tango for the Mango-Colored, un-Truth Social sexual predator. And as an added bonus, take Eric and Don Jr with him. He'll need the company.
I would hope the old biddies and lechers who are members of his club line the steps, clapping as they clap on the handcuffs, their tiny little handbag dogs yapping. OK, neither of those things will happen. Too bad. I'm sure all his elite Florida pals would miss him as he trades in one big house for another.

Someone was talking about forming a MAGA moat around Mar a Lago. If they allow that to happen, it would be the first time a blue collar MAGA minion gets to set foot on the property for purposes other than to cut the grass or clean the pool. Don’t think it will, though. I think Trump will want a lot of video footage of himself being taken away by the police so it can be plastered all over the internet. It’s good for donations.

So there is.a lot of GOP noise about us having a two tiered DOJ system.
I would agree, if they meant the difference between the kind of justice the poor get vs wealthy, but that’s not what they mean.
They mean Trump getting investigated in so many different cases while Hunter Biden hasn’t been. Or Trump getting investigated for having classified documents at his home when Hillary didn’t get prosecuted for having a private server in her home. Or all the J6 insurrectionists getting arrested for trying to over throw a US election when all those BLM protestors got away with burning cars and breaking into store fronts.

I think it's because people tend to align themselves with people who are like them. this is why I seriously question the people who are "for" trump. Or people who rationalize what trump's actions and rhetoric. Of course they want to be like trump and idolize him - they admire his lying cheating conman ways. They probably do some of the same things in their own real life. Wasn't that one of the "planks" in trump's platform - that he's for the "everyday man" with the implication that he's just like the "everyday man". Lying, cheating, two faced, only pays lip service to religious teachings/faith, womanizing, grifting, kind a guy that would say he was a friend but then would throw the other person under the bus. And proud of it.

He has gotten way too many passes, considering all of the mischief he's been involved in. I won't shed a single tear if I see him on television being led away in cuffs.

Whether an indictment hurts him or not depends on how successful Fox News can spin it. His loyalists have left Fox, but the run of the mill republicans are still getting a significant amount of their information from Fox. Given Fox’s current legal problems and the documentation surrounding their ethics, I am super curious to see if they feel they need to pull back any of their rhetoric. They are in a super tough spot - if they don’t say what their viewers want to hear, they lose them, but they are tarnished as a news source so getting new viewers will involve overcoming a lot of public perception. I’ve kinda got the popcorn out on that business.
I have been searching for my favorite meme, but can’t find it - it was something like:
Fox News: We lied to you
Fox Viewers: No you didn’t

And the MAGA crowd thought Trump would keep his promise and frog march her off to prison. I'm not going to go tit for tat. Just pointing out that if arrested it may not harm his chances. He doesn't even *deserve* a chance to begin with.

What are you drinking/smoking/sampling? I am chronically and malignantly optimistic. My hopes constantly crushed. I’m a special kind of idiot. Those MAGA will stick like glue to the Trump train as it plunges down straight to hell. I know that, but I still hope that rationality will suddenly strike them.

What is wrong with that picture? It's the Electoral College. It was set up with good intentions, but has bitten us in the a$$ more than once. In a perfect world, it would ensure that no states get overlooked in a presidential election. Unfortunately, it's a problem, and the "will of the people" is sometimes not accomplished. (It wasn't only Hillary Clinton who was cheated out of a win by that system.)

You just cannot make this shit up. trump world. Obama was two years old when JFK was assassinated. Susan Rice wasn't born yet. And Eric Holder was twelve. Right-wing host calls for military to execute Obama if Trump is indicted“Military, join us and put all of them up against a concrete wall,” said podcast host Pete Santilli Far-right broadcaster Pete Santilli called on members of the military to execute former President Barack Obama, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice if former President Donald Trump is arrested. Trump in a lengthy rant on Truth Social over the weekend claimed he would be arrested in connection to the Manhattan district attorney's investigation into hush-money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the final stretch of the 2016 presidential campaign. Santilli responded on his show by calling for Trump's supporters in the military to rise up and round up Obama and his former administration officials and shoot them against a "concrete wall." "Get the military, whatever few are left that are gonna side with the people. You military personnel and you people with guns and badges and law enforcement will succumb to the will of the people," Santilli said in a clip flagged by Right Wing Watch. "And ultimately, we demand, we absolutely demand that the criminals, the criminals in this country, if you want them held accountable, the criminals are Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Susan Rice," he continued. "This entire criminal cabal that came about as a result of the murder of John F. Kennedy, the people that perpetrated the murder of John F. Kennedy, rise up to that." What in the entire fuck? Good Lord, the news concerning this nation of ours just gets worser and worser every day. I was not a fan of George W Bush, the first President I really paid attention to as an adult, but I never thought he really meant the country harm, I just thought he wasn’t all that smart. I most certainly didn’t want anyone to kill him. Even after I felt like he sent our military on a fool’s errand and my financially not so savvy self felt like something wasn’t quite right when he was telling us to go out and spend money after 9/11, I never wished any kind of harm on him. I felt like he probably at least meant well, he just wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. I have to refrain from publicly saying what I really think about Donald Trump. So Imma just say that since God is obviously not through with me yet, even though I try and fail every.single.day. to be Christ like, there are some people I would not piss or spit on if they were on fire. I wouldn’t do anything to accelerate the fire, but I wouldn’t do anything to stop it either. I’m not naming names, I’m just saying there are a few people on this earth that I feel that way about.
