Any mention of how a 17yo is going to support a family? Or are the happy couple going to be sucking on the government teat? Nope. Repo-cons don’t do that.🤮

Gotta love Boebert's life. Such a wonderful example of Christian values all the way around. When it comes time to see who gets cast into the lake of fire, I'm guessing she won't have to wait long to hear her name called.

Neither parent has a job that supplies health insurance, and the grandparents can’t supply it. That is the minimum “socialism” they will get. It would be justice if they would lose that due to republican plans to gut medicaid

I bet the 15yo Boebert's son impregnated is going to receive top of the line medical care at no cost to her (or her family). Good thing his mother is a public figure - and can shower all sorts of perks and money on her son's girlfriend. I'm betting even if the kids don't get married - the girl is pretty much set up for a life of perks and money - if she plays her cards right. Her parents must be proud. I wonder if her parents are getting some "connection" goodness out of this... Yep, marrying up (or having a wealthy connected baby daddy) is still the way to go to get ahead. it's NOT hard work or education. Is this what the Republicans mean when they say "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and "Family first"

So, 15 years old - that's what a sophomore in HS? I'm sure going to classes up until the due date works ok. But what happens in the weeks after the birth if it's not born during "summer break"?
And then who's watching her baby while she returns to school? If she doesn't return to school and gets a job - who's watching the baby?
Who's paying for her shelter/food for her and her baby?
If it's her parents doesn't this make her and the baby an added "burden" to their financial situation?
It's probably a good thing the girl and the Boebert kid have families with money.
Because both of these kids (and their baby) are going to benefit from being "privileged".

This whole thing makes me sick. It would bother me a lot less if the girl was also 17.

I feel for the two young people who are not only having to deal with a tough situation but having to do it so publicly. I understand that Boebert had to attempt to get out in front of it politically but still it would be best to have it slip off the news quickly (if everyone can let it).

My dad "led by example" in a different way. He'd threaten us "if you end up as screwed up as so-and-so, I'll kick you out". His favorite saying was a smart man learns from his own mistakes, and a smarter man learns from the mistakes of others.

To give Boebert her due: she DID manage to get her GED in 2020. You know what really irritates me about that? In my profession, (and others I'm sure), I won't even be considered without a degree unless I've been in the game so long that my resume is beyond impressive. Once I've been hired I have to pass a background check, credit check, MVR check and a drug test. I don't run anything. But we'll just let anyone without any experience, a criminal record, no education, and a shady past be in the government and make laws that affect everyone. What sense does that make?!

Neither do I. But she did not do so until she was 30+yo. That was my point. It reinforces from my personal POV where education ranks in importance for her. Does she really think today's youth will be able to get by as young adults with some high school to be upgraded whenever? After all the jobs these young people would qualify for are, per the credo of her own party, not meant to support a family. It does explain her opposition to student loan forgiveness though.

I have to admit I googled Boebert - as I was very curious how someone without a HS diploma (and I assume no college) could have networked their way into the money needed to run for public office... This isn't really about her education - it's more about who she knows that would back her with money so she'd get elected. Cause really - if you don't have money or cannot get backers with money - you aren't going to win an election (ok, beyond your local elections). And generally the way you get that 'network of people' is either thru your family or the people you hang around (your school/college) or by owning a business and then interacting with your local government and my "stereotype" of someone who hasn't graduated HS - is they aren't necessarily going to be hanging out with connected people in HS and they miss out on the connected people they might have met in college so that leaves starting a business and getting connected with local government. I'm guessing a business that generates enough money to make the owner a "force" that would have some sway in local politics would be something that requires time and effort AND MONEY to grow the business. When did Boebert have time to run for political office (and who paid for it)? I'm wondering where her money came from for any business she was connected to? Was it hers? her family? her husband? someone else?? You don't go from being a teen mother to having enough money to run for a political office without being connected in some way to people WITH money. OK, where I'm going with this is that it IRKS me beyond measure when someone who has money - gets up and claims that they got where they are today thru hard work, sweat and tears. They forget to mention how lucky they were to have connections and MONEY. And then they imply that anyone who has the drive and does the hard work and puts in the sweat and tears could accomplish what they did.... and don't add in as long as that person also had connections and MONEY. They appeal to that "Americans can make a lot of money and get ultra rich if they just put forth some effort" spiel.... That makes me angry. coloradosun.com/2020/09/14/lauren-boebert-congress-guns-trump/

Lauren Boebert buried on Twitter after calling out left's lack of responsibility
Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert tweeted Monday that, even though President Joe Biden is almost halfway done with his term, "he’s STILL blaming Trump, and some people STILL believe him." “Personal responsibility is something the Left really has no concept of,” she added. But her tweet was red meat to Boebert's critics, who accused her of having no self-awareness. "How's that family tradition of knocking up underage females going, Ms. Personal Responsibility?" former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann replied, referring to a recent news story on Boebert's teen son who impregnated his girlfriend. "Trump is still blaming Abraham Lincoln!," another person tweeted. "Personal responsibility is alien to the Republicans." "Don’t you have some laws to vote on?" tweeted another. "People in Congress spend more time blaming each other for s--t these days instead of doing s--t to benefit the people."
