'We will go to war': Boogaloo Bois regrouping to seek vengeance for Mar-a-Lago raidThe anti-government Boogaloo Bois are regrouping ahead of next year's presidential elections after law enforcement nearly wiped out the militant movement, according to a new report. Hawaiian shirt-wearing members of the loosely organized group were implicated in a number of shootings, particularly around protests over George Floyd's police murder, and implicated in plots to sabotage power grids and a conspiracy to kidnap Michigan's governor, but social media companies finally disrupted their communications and the FBI started rounding them up, reported Vice News. “The fact of the matter is the FBI won,” a once-prominent Boogaloo from Texas recently posted online. But some members who drifted away from the movement are returning, while new members are being recruited with fantasies of an "armed revolt" against police and other government agents in what they see as a fight against tyranny, and their once hard-to-define ideology has been whittled down to a 22-page manifesto. “The difference between now and 2020 is they have their ideology figured out,” said Katie Paul, director of the watchdog Tech Transparency Project. “I'm extremely concerned because with these new Boog groups, there's no longer any effort to appear to be careful in terms of what they're posting. They're going straight to the ‘kill tyrants,' ‘kill congresspeople’ memes.” The group's reemergence seems to coincide with the FBI search of Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort looking for classified materials, which triggered a wave of violent threats from his supporters, and they remain angry at the bureau for infiltrating their ranks and believe federal agents fomented the Jan. 6 insurrection. “The people that were arrested, the people that were charged, they just made us more angry, they made us more hateful towards the government,” said Mike Dunn, a former U.S. Marine who joined the movement three years ago but left after the crackdown. “That hatred for the U.S. government is just sitting there. We’re thinking. We’re learning to be smart.” Dunn worked for a while at a county jail after leaving the movement and recently returned from fighting against Russia as a volunteer soldier for Ukraine, but he was drawn back into the Boogaloo Bois to fight against proposed gun safety legislation, and he said at least 100 members were training for armed action if that law is passed. “We all die there in the street, at the hands of the National Guard or whatever," Dunn told Vice News. "That would spark a revolution in the state of Virginia, which would spill over into other states. I don’t see it as a lone wolf act of somebody blowing up a building or an attack on anything, but as a defense of liberty, creating martyrs in the name of the Constitution and freedom.” “We will go to war,” he added. “We will fight, we will die, and we will kill.” 'We will go to war': Boogaloo Bois regrouping to seek vengeance for Mar-a-Lago raid

This reminds me of the man who assassinated Lincoln - John Wilkes Booth - who was astonished when he was not honored as a Southern martyr after the assassination. He thought he’d be carried through the streets by jubilant crowds. Instead he got hanged.
I try to be a Christian, but to be honest, if 100 boogaloo Bois got mowed down by the National Guard in the DC streets, I think my response would probably be ‘Huh.’

I won't argue that there will be death - but there are 330 MILLION Americans. Do they really think that 100 or 1000 or even 10,000 Bois will inspire a bloody revolt across America that can be won? Are they hoping the National Guard and the US Military will back them up??
I'm not sympathetic enough to their plight to feel that Boogaloo Bois (or any of the militias) deaths would be meaningful. Many of the things they say they are fighting for - seem kind of petty and "small picture" to me. I don't think they really want to live in the America they are supposedly "fighting for" I don't think it will be as wonderful and great as they think it will be.
(reminds me of some Libertarians who all about buying into Galt's Gulch in Chile... their utopia sounded cool... but I was like - there's no infrastructure (water, electricity, fuel, sewerage) there's no schools or a hospital or even actual roads and I'm pretty sure you aren't going to be able to build more than shacks using local building materials. And you don't have any food... subsistance farmers don't lead really comfortable lives (but they probably will be the ones who survive most "end of civilization" scenarios). Not to mention you'd have no way to protect your holdings from the locals or the local government. The response to that was - but we'd have fresh food and nature all around us and everyone would have purposeful work, we could rebuild civilization and do it right this time! Yeah, no.
Sorry, but sometimes fantasies and "personal dreams" are best kept that way - because those fantasies and dreams are down right horrible when they become real life.
All the talk of what the militias want to accomplish the America that the extreme Right wants - looks and feels a lot like some fantasy "personal dream" thing that will be really horrible when it becomes their real life.)

I am trying to imagine what a revolution would look like. Rural areas are fighting for their causes, and urban areas are not fully in agreement. I am sure you can find some extreme conservatives in cities, but will they give up their house, job or life for their beliefs? So, in every state you will have people fighting for one thing, people fighting for the opposite thing, and a shit ton of people who don’t want to get involved.

Add to that that a lot of the MAGA crowd are late middle age or older.
How many of them are going to be willingly to join a militia constantly on the go, engaging in hand to hand skirmishes, going without food and sleep?
And then face down modern military weapons?
Big talk, probably not that many who are action.

I wonder how many of these big talkers have actually had a gun pointed AT them...and they didn't have any defense against it? Even if they are ex-military, they may never have faced a loaded weapon. I have faced a loaded weapon...when I was a cashier in a grocery store being robbed. I know what it feels like & it isn't fun.
Talk is cheap, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty...many find out quickly just how scared they really are!
And the idea that their actions would create a total country civil war...that's nuts! One other thing that many of them don't realize...just how many of us 'liberals' are armed & have lots of ammo also stock piled. We are ready.
