We finally figured out the loan situation. DH and I have yours/mine/our accounts. (I'm not interested in debating that, it works for us.) DH is paying 60% of the renovations, and he doesn't need a loan. I'm paying 40%, and I do.
So in the end *I'm* borrowing 7K from DS2. We'll write up the formal paperwork next time we see each other. I'm planning to pay him back in 14 months tops, hopefully sooner.
ETA: The new windows look fabulous!!!
