Today during lunch a coworker was talking about the 2024 election. He said since Biden and Harris didn't seem to have 100% support of the Dems just who would carry the Dems banner. I couldn't come up with any and neither could he. Just who does the Dems have warming the bench?

There are a number of people who would make a good president on the DFL ticket. If you want the name of a woman I would vote for, I like Elizabeth Warren. Frankly, I don't know if there's a "favorite" out there right now.

The Democrats could almost run Donald Duck and win if the Republicans run Donald Trump.

No one who runs for President ever has 100% support of their chosen political party. Like any incumbent President, Biden is running for re-election unless he actively chooses not to.
It will be far more interesting to see who stands up as candidates for the GOP and whether they have the financial support to make it until the selection.

I read that. Makes me think they are advertising for candidates to come and woo them.

I heard two talking heads discussing the Koch’s the other day, pointing out that the last time they got involved in the primaries was when the tea party whack doodles were threatening the GOP ability to win. So now they are getting involved for the express purpose of keeping Trump from winning. Another prominent GOP conservative fundraising group, the club for growth, is hosting a bunch of possible GOP candidates next month in Florida- but didn’t invite Trump. Trump always claimed he was so rich he didn’t need money from wealthy donors, but will he really run if it means he has to sink his own money into the campaign?

Biden probably stands the least chance of winning. ergo, any other candidate you can think of. in case you are drawing a blank, start here: www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-63654388

Klobachar, Booker, Warren and Buttigieg had a decent run in 2020.
If we need an old white guy - we’ve got them too.

Interesting a female candidate must be "hot" in order to be considered a viable option for a candidate.
And then there is Trump.
Nice sexist double standard there.

I remember some jackass on a call in radio show rejoicing about how she was sure to get elected because she was so cute. Didn’t quite work out for Alaska Barbie did it.

We need a good looking figurehead. Why? What are the advantages to having a “beautiful” person in charge? Do they also have to be qualified? I mean - Obama was very good looking, did that make him a better president in your eyes?

Or do you want the second definition of figurehead: a nominal leader or head without real power. Or are you comfortably uninformed again.

I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here, and wondering WTF a woman being beautiful or not has to do with her intelligence and capabilities for being a good leader. Maybe you are being facetious? I hope so. Because if you are serious, if I expressed my thoughts about what you said, I would probably get a deserved ban from this little community. I can’t think of one President that I considered “good looking”, not even Obama. And if we choose our leaders based on how “good looking” they are instead of their character, integrity, and what they stand for, we deserve whatever bullshit we get, if we as a nation are that shallow. And if “good looking” matters, idk how the FUCK Donald Trump’s funny looking ass got elected to lead our nation. The FUCK?!

Rip wrote the following on the Nikki Haley for President thread: Rip would vote for her just because she's hot. That is such an informed and well researched reason to elect a female president of the U.S.. Keri and Nikki are better looking than that old plow horse Hillary.

In 2016 my husband said he thought Hillary would have a better chance if she lost some weight. I called him a misogynist fuckface and told him that was the worst thing he has ever said. He spent about 6 months reflecting and apologizing. He hasn’t mentioned any woman’s weight or a professional woman’s looks since.
He still has opinions about entertainer’s looks, but he is kinder than he was 20 years ago. He points out ugly men and beautiful women.
