Well, I submitted Monday night late...like 11pm or so. The refund is now showing pending in my bank account with a post date of 2/22. Very, very slow, wouldn't you say? I'm thinking back to the dark ages of paper-filing in the 80's and early 90's and how long I had to wait then!

Even if you mailed it on January 2. Mail it in and wait for the paper check. No way to track it. I think it was longer than the 8-12 I was telling clients the last years I worked as a tax preparer.

I filed on Sunday and my state refund is in the bank today. I have not checked when it was posted. Now I have to write a check to the feds.

I am quite shocked that my state refund will be in my account tomorrow. That will officially close this tax season for me.

I know it'a an old thread....
But, my taxes got filed 3/13/2023, both the federal and state refunds hit my checking account 3/27/2023.
I had bigger than anticipated refunds - because I added to my withholding thru all of 2022 - but had much less rental income and much bigger rental repair expenses in 2022 due to hurricane Ian. I guess there are pros and cons to trying to be "proactive" and adjusting withholding amounts each year. probably should have stopped the extra withholding amount in Sept.2022... I stopped the additional withholding amount it in January 2023 (still don't have a tenant) so I will have "less non W2 income" in 2023.

I need to submit our fed/state returns. I have one more thing to add to feds. If we don't itemize we owe the state. Our state withholding is set to single and no exemptions.
I started to check my grandma's state return today. They had a note about increasing identity protection measures and not to contact them unless you'd been waiting at least 10 weeks.
I had to paper file her state return. There was no way to include a copy of my executor appointment letter through the e-file channels and it was required.
For the feds, I just had to fill out some information. Might have something to do with her neither owing or getting a refund.

I filed on Sat, March 4th. Received State on Fri, March 10th and Federal on Mon, March 13th. My new tax guy is great. And so much cheaper than the big commercial tax companies like TT and HRB.

It's been so long since we got a refund I couldn't say if this is longer. We are to get $1000 back this year, had to pay state. Have no fed to pay on estimate next year as we still have $7k in credits from the solar panels. It was something like $26k total to use over 5 years, so that's been good.
Our rental income is down too. Sold 2 and have one not paying. Going to cost us to evict her. We stopped by attorney today to let them know we will be gone a month. I think they are going to go to court next week, have to meet with him first.
