Yay for your continued progress NastyWoman and for the $233! You should treat yourself to something as a reward for all that hard work lol. I went to Costco a few days ago - that took care of the money LOL

I was at Costco on Monday and spent $165. Mostly for food or weather related things but I managed to get a really decent shop stool for $40. It's strange I went to the one that is closest to the shore house and the sales tax was 9.5% instead of 10.1%. A small change but that will add up in the long run I'm sure.

I thought today was going to be a scrambled mess because the cleaning ladies were coming tomorrow. I was wrong. It's a week from Friday.

Yesterday I took an online health assessment via our health insurance provider's website. Doing this and two other things should result in a $150 debit card. Last night a few neighbors came over and we started planning out annual Halloween party. The midweek spruce up included putting out fresh towels and filling and starting the dishwasher. Added another item to the Goodwill box.

I did a load of dishes and actually put them away.
Tomorrow, I have a contractor coming to look at the crack in my foundation. Just talked to BIL and the guy is about his age and lived a couple of farms away when they were growing up.

Drop off current Goodwill boxes. Pick up library book.Schedule October bills.Add items to online shop.Descale water filter.Bedding laundry.Clean out fridge before weekly grocery shopping.
Progress, but the donation boxes are still sitting in the dining area. I always have this irrational thought that I will change my mind about an item 10 seconds after I leave Goodwill. Our potential move is still 8 months away, but I must be more prepared this time. (In our last move 1.5 years ago, we dragged a bag of stuff that needed to be shredded halfway across the country with us, because we didn't have time to deal with it before we left. ) I've got a few big areas to work on; this month I'll focus on the excess craft stuff. Goals for this week: Drop off Goodwill donations. Clean out and organize pantry. Laundry. Scan paperwork. Make laundry soap. Finish current craft project. Have a great weekend everyone.

Just talked to BIL and the guy is about his age and lived a couple of farms away when they were growing up. Norm called and he has a social conflict that wasn't on his business schedule. He wanted to come at 8 AM tomorrow, a Saturday. I am rarely up by 8 AM so I told him 9 AM is the earliest he can come. I just hope it's not a ton of money. I'm going to have to cash in a CD early unless he is so booked up that it will be late November when he can do the actual work. It's either that or use the Heloc and pay 8% interest. None of the CD's are paying close to 8%

Today I decided to tackle my office so I can work in here more over the Fall. So far I’ve
- cleaned and decorated the fireplace mantle for Halloween - organized my small containers of fabric and candles with new bins I got on sale - tackled the shite pile and got it halfway done - Moved the chair I’m sanding upstairs because it’s very messy - Found the bags for shipping and got a gift ready to send - reset my desktop so the sound works again - started moving old client files to Dropbox to free up space - moved all scraps upstairs to the fabric bins
I have another bin of papers to get through and half of it is writing projects I need to figure out how to store better.
Since I reorganized my fabric I have 15 plastic shoebox bins free and 3 photo boxes free. I may work on reorganizing the office bookshelves which are a bit chaotic right now.

The crack was a very inexpensive fix. I did not go look at it again and had not looked at it for a long time.
We go in the room where it is located and I can't see a crack and neither can Norm. He goes over to where I told him it was and it has been filled with epoxy. I never hired someone to do that. I told him the drain to the shower was moved when I did the remodel of the bathroom. He said they probably fixed it as it was a small job. He had an app on his phone that let him "see" in to the crack and he said there is epoxy all the way down the crack. So that is fixed and it was no charge.
He said he felt bad for rescheduling the appointment yesterday and he was late this morning because one of his sons got drunk at a party last night and they have told their kids to stay and they will come get them. So he said this was a couple of blocks off the highway on his way home.
So no cashing in CDs.

TheOtherMe -- that is wonderful news about the crack in the foundation Currently working on laundry -- last load in the dryer and should be finished in a few minutesand first load of laundry is completely finished. . Dishwasher has been unloaded earlier this morning. Once I finish with laundry I think I will sit down with my latest project, put on some game and try to make some progress on the project. I would like to finish it within the week as I have a craft show next weekend and would like to have this in my inventory. My long list of projects were finished earliet so now I am only working on one project at a time. Dryer just binged so I will check in sometime later.

To look at the crack, we had to go in to the Forbidden Room in the basement. I then had to leave it open a while because I saw the cats go in as we were walking up the steps.
Finally got back down there when I know both cats were upstairs.
This evening Maddow sat in front of the door howling to get in for about 15 minutes. He did not get his wish.

Glad the potential house issue disappeared, TheOtherMe. And glad to know your cats are keeping you on your toes. Saw a cartoon on FB that you'd like: God is on his throne at the gates of heaven. A dog and cat sit facing him. He asks the dog, have you been a good dog? And the dog replies, Yes, I have. I sit and I beg and I pay attention to my people and I am loyal. He then asks the cat, have you been a good cat? The cat replies, You're sitting in my chair.

Maddow did this several more times after that post. DN3 and his stepson dropped by and the stepson always has to go to the basement to play with the cats. He is very good at getting them out from the maze of their furniture. Then DN3 wanted to see the crack so he went down. I told him not to let the cats in that room.
He didn't but that led to the more rounds of demanding the door open.

The reason for DN3's visit was to take boxes from my garage to start packing for their move. They have had a couple of realtors out to see about listing their house and have been told a lot of stuff needs to not be seen.
They don't have a garage so the boxes may come back here full of their stuff.
He said they want to be moved before the baby arrives.

Hi! I had a wicked cold two weeks ago and then had to catch up last week from not getting much done the week before. We took our trailer out this weekend for the first time since February!, so it’s been quite relaxing. I’ve finished my coffee and am going to start cleaning the trailer to take it home. Here’s my list for the remainder of the day.

The drywall is fixed and so my painters should be in to finish up this week.
Spent a few hours with one of my BFF's yesterday at the waterfront by her place. It was a beautiful day and the ramble we had was fun.
Paid the electrical work on the shore house bill.
Need to start boxing up more items.

Sorry to hear about the crack, TheOtherMe . I also hope it's not a huge ordeal, both the repair and expense. Nice lists, megaptera ! This weekend: The usual laundry and other chores Did 5 loads of laundry, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, scrubbed two toilets, emptied two garbage cans, refilled the TP and Keurig, and prepped produce and boiled eggs for the week. Watch the neighbor kiddo's football game Done. They won! We all went out to lunch afterward. Decorate for Halloween Got the upstairs mostly complete. I did bring up all items that will touch food to be washed before our annual Halloween party. Enjoy a bonfire while burning old tax documents, etc. DH built the fire, but no documents were addressed. Bake brownies in the Traeger Oops. I forgot about this one, LOL. I put it on this weekend's calendar. I did bake banana bread in the air fryer, however. Happy weekend, everyone! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend.

Iggy aka IG DH and I had a big fight this weekend, so frankly, it wasn't very pleasant. DH is a HUGE concert fan. He asked about 6 months ago if I wanted to go to a concert last night. I said yes, because at the time, I thought I had to leave at 11 this morning. As it got closer, I realized I had to get up at 7.30, work from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm, and that the concert was standing room only! No seats!!! So I said no ... thankfully, DH found a friend to go instead. I am too old to want to stand up for 3-4h at a concert, or to go on a "work night" if I have to get up early the next day. Plus, I absolutely HATE HATE HATE crowds and crowded places. I try to make an effort sometimes, for DH. But I absolutely LOATHE having to decide whether I will go to a concert 4-6 months in advance. Even if I say thanks but no thanks, DH will purchase a ticket for me anyway ... and then I feel obligated/guilty if when I don't want to go. I know you guys go to concerts ... how do you work it out, if you don't mind me asking?

I am no longer attending concerts in large part because of paying for it so far in advance. I don't know what is going to be happening in my life a year for now. So I've seen enough fabulous concerts, that I have no plans to attend any more.

Today ended up being a “clean the bedroom” day as I watched the news. I made up my bed, rearranged some shelves, put away summer sandals and got out the slippers, vacuumed, rearranged a few pieces of furniture and put away my clean clothes.
I do still need to fold some blankets and mop the bathroom but those are quick.
Over the weekend I quilted the 2 table runners and now I’m looking for binding so I don’t have to buy fabric. The pillows are next and then the lap quilts. I have to piece the backing of one of the lap quilts which I’ve never done before.
On Thursday I dropped off dead lightbulbs at Home Depot for recycling but I also need to do a donation drop off soon. Old sandals are going out as well as random glassware I don’t need.

debthaven I am so sorry you two fought! I am glad he found a friend to go with him. Yes, we love concerts! Our favorite is a specific smaller venue, though we have attended HUGE concerts in SLC (indoors 20K capacity-I was in awe when we walked in and took it all in!) and Denver (18K outdoors so it didn't seem so bad). Thankfully, most of the ones we go to have seating. If I remember correctly, we arrived after the opening band had already started at the one that didn't (3,900) so there was less standing required. Although, if begin the evening sitting, I end up standing up and going up front when the mood strikes. And yes, I am usually stiff the next day, LOL. I will say recently I saw a show at a new to me venue with the option of either standing up front or bring a low-profile chair and sit in the grassy area. I would've rather stood up front, but my friend treated me, so on the grass it was. Not my jam. Regarding crowds, I don't care for them either, so I have several drinks to take the edge off. And then I hydrate with water and keep a cup of ice with me. Plus, DH is NFL size, so I feel safe. Regarding how far in advance, I already bought tickets for February 2024, and DH bought some for next month.
