I've been working on my dissertation since January 2022. Though ABD is a totally unofficial term, I suppose you could consider me that as of June 2022; that's when my doctoral classes were complete. I spent the last year just finishing the dissertation. I'm just waiting for the actual graduation paperwork to finalize for my doctoral degree.

Happy Sunday! I currently have 13 chores/tasks on my list for today. I don't think I have to leave the house though, so that's nice.

Just finished one big chore, collapsing the boxes that were forming a large pile on the deck. DH puts them out there so they'll get rained on and therefore easier to cut up and flatten, but it was getting ridiculous. Anyway, they're all flattened and stacked, ready to go to the recycling center.
Next, make beef stew. I should be drafting a query letter but don't want to right now, so I'm procrastinating. I need to clear some boxes of Stuff by my vanity that we found in the basement before we brought DD here. That will take a while. Also, sorting clothes.

I just realized that I haven't posted in a while. I am keeping busy and attempting to get things better organized as the next few weeks are going to get even busier. My first craft show of the season is this coming weekend. I need to pack up the new items and ad them to the inventory. I have been updating items in the etsy shop. I am not sure if I can share the link here but if anyone wants it please PM me. What I have listed is only a small sample of the total items I have made.
The past weeks and today:
*Donated/trashed several items *Maintained previous progress and kept up with household chores. *Attended classes *Finished the last kit but I made several changes to the design. Part of the original was a little more ornate than I like so I simplified the strip area. *Kept up with laundry and dishes. Two loads were completed today.
This week goals/activities: Some of these will be continuing for a while as they are ongoing activities.
*Continue organizing and decluttering *Use up a few craft items that I have (other than beading materials) *Maintaining laundry, dishes, household chores *Shredding of old papers *Classes -- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday *Grocery -- mainly perishables. Continue to* reduce items in freezer as things are getting hot in the freezer. *Change AC Filter *Craft show inventory *Get all items collected and packed for craft show -- backup chargers, snacks, items, tables, notebook, cash, square, etc.
Upcoming:
* Medicals tests -- Blood Work, mammogram * Get medical ok for eye surgery (Need to get blood work done first) * Start Passport Renewal Process -- Got the photos done.

I’m done with the 5 day COVID quarantine but still have a nasty cough. The only thing that helped was some horchata from a nearby restaurant that was so soothing! I’m not sleeping well thanks to the cough but may try to workout (slowly) today to ease back into it.
The weather is nearly perfect so if I continue to get better I plan to do a little yard work before the weather cools too much.

I am on Day 11 and still testing positive. I have the nasty cough. I am still not seeing any people. I'm still contagious and it isn't right to knowingly expose others.
The CDC changed the guideline from 10 days to 5 days under political pressure, not from science.

Get well, TheOtherMe . I'm sorry it's hitting you so hard. So am I. Before I lose my energy today, I've got a load of laundry in the dryer. I also went and got chai tea for the first time since I got sick. It is hitting the spot. I am still testing positive this morning.

I would love to stop coughing and get a good nights sleep. Hope you’re feeling 100% again soon TheO!

The cough is killing me and does affect my sleep. My fever still comes and goes. It's definitely not done with me.

A quick update as I was out of the office Monday and yesterday. I'm a bit behind and need to step out soon for a lunch appointment. My home office project: -2 each small and medium totes of memories were labeled and put into storage. -Went through one of two boxes of tax and other documents. Tossed older than 7 tax stuff into the To Burn box. -Asked my mom if she could use some photo albums once I purge them. -Messaged my photographer friend if he collects "antique" cameras. I have at least 2 I'd like to rid of. -Put several items into giveaway and donation boxes. -Two stuffed animals will be added to the bag to donate to the police station. -Pulled at least 6 books hoping to sell them to Decluttr dot com. -Brought up the half empty CD tower from the basement which I'll fill and give the current storage box to DH to use. Which leads me to: Speaking of basements, after our annual Halloween party in case someone needs it (which no one ever stays over as we practice DD safe partying), we are going to turn our guest room into a fully dedicated home gym. DH bought the used elliptical bringing our large exercise equipment to three. We'll map out the most logical way for things to be arranged. I also want to dedicate the right-hand closet in that room to store hand weights, towels, bottled water, etc. Some of the storage cubes from our previous home's walk-in closet are already in there and hold random holiday items. I'm looking forward to this project. Hugs to everyone. I'll catch up later.

Got my friend off to eye surgery today. She is doing really well and I am so happy that she was able to get it done. The other eye is going to take longer due to issues. Got excellent news that the painters are able to get the interior of my place done next week! So looking forward to being able to actually place furniture and pictures where I want them and not have to worry about being a month behind and having to paint when all my stuff is inside the new house. So next week is will be good for me. Plumber, Painters and Electrician for the win!

So, just spoke with another BFF and we will be emptying the storage unit Friday and doing a round trip just so the storage is empty, and everything is in the garage at the shore house. So it's going to be a late night tomorrow but I am up for it.

Much to my chagrin I forgot to bring the shoes and bag to drop off at FedEx today. Oh, well, next time I'm that direction. debthaven how is your friend with the burst appendix doing? snapdragon that is kind of you to help your friend get to/from her surgery. Good luck tomorrow! Speaking of friends, we're planning a color ride Saturday. 5-6 of us will pile into my vehicle and take off for the high country to look at the changing of the trees. We'll take a picnic and do some other sightseeing. Upon returning home, our neighbors are going to order supper via Door Dash. Other than that, just the usual chores and football this weekend. Have a good one, everyone.

I will be watching a Colorado volleyball match tonight and again on Sunday afternoon. I don't know how long I will watch on Sunday as they are likely to get blown out.
I won't be watching the Colorado football game.

I'm still just plugging along getting stuff down now and again and as usual the to do list overwhelming. Today was hopefully the end of a nasty little project to get a VIN and year corrected for my RV. About a month after I bought my RV I notified that the manufacturer was changing the VIN and that the RV was really considered a 2020 and not a 2019. I signed the necessary papers and the RV dealership put the new VIN tags on the RV when it was in for it's initial warranty service. A year or two later I noticed on the registration that it said 2019 instead of 2020. I tried to get it corrected then but DMV said I couldn't put in for a title correction because the title was being held by the loan holder. The loan holder contacted the dealership and they said that it matched the paperwork, even though when you put the VIN into a VIN translator it came back as a 2020.
This was in the middle of the pandemic, places where closed and I was also looking to move. I just dropped it. This Spring I decided to sell the RV and discovered that not only was the year on the title incorrect the stickers on the RV had the wrong VIN. The VIN on the vehicle didn't match the title. I finally got in touch with the manufacturer and after getting passed around to a couple of people ended up with someone to help me. This lady said that the VIN I was giving her off the title according to their records belonged to an RV that hadn't been sold yet. It has taken several weeks and also involved getting the dealership involved, which had been sold and is now operating under a new name. Thankfully the title clerk was still working there from the original dealership and she vaguely remembered this whole mess up. Yesterday I received the new paper to take to DMV so they could issue a new title with the correct year. I also received the new VIN stickers for the RV and they will now match the title. Today I went to DMV and became the most hated person there. I was at the counter for over half an hour while the customer service rep reviewed all the notes in their system about my mess, then consulted with his manager. In the end I should have a new title in hand in about 3-5 weeks. Since I was at DMV I also got my real ID. So two projects taken care of today.

We just got back from NY! I saw my sister, my nieces/nephews/their kids, and my 3 best childhood friends. It was a very good trip. Iggy aka IG we literally got home an hour ago, so I haven't had news, but I assume she's better. I saw her the night before we left, and she was already better. Thanks for asking! We have a lot of laundry to do, unfortunately it's raining here. (There's a lot we don't put in the dryer.) I also have a lot of prep to do for school next week. Lots of progress is being made I see! snapdragon you're getting so close to moving there full time! TheOtherMe and startsmart I hope you are both feeling much better by now.

I didn't sleep in the plane because it left NY in mid-afternoon, so I just took a nap. I did the laundry but a lot of it still needs to dry.
Next week someone is coming for an estimate to reinsulate part of the roof. The following week someone is coming to sweep the fireplace insert, and then someone else is coming to service the boiler. No news from the upholsterers.
It's good to be home!
I Shitepiled this afternoon. I want to be all caught up before school on Monday.

Iggy aka IG apparently my friend is back in the hospital because her wound isn't draining. What a mess. She texted me, I tried to call her back, but she didn't pick up. DH has the car tomorrow for a theater thing but we will try to see her this weekend.

I am finally feeling a little better and got a ton of small chores done today. The latest of which is making homemade ice cream for an event this weekend. I am hoping my ice cream maker does its job, it is loud and I’m going to leave it for awhile before checking.
I finally vacuumed up most of the mess the cats made in my office alternatively digging in a potted plant and destroying some leftover batting from a quilt.
Woke up to a booming thunderstorm this morning and watched the storm from my vintage chaise lounge with the cats. It was really relaxing and I am looking forward to Fall.

debthaven, does it make sense to just put the photos in a box and mail it to you in France? That's probably what I'd do. I think your DSis needs TheOtherMe's organizer.

Thursday I ended up getting 2 new toilets and the faucet for the tub replaced. It was a chunk but it's done and I won't have to worry about when I put the condo up for sale about them being a issue.
Yesterday one of my BFF's and I emptied out my storage unit and drove down to the shore house put everything into the garage and left for home. We got back around 1 AM this morning.
Today I am not sure what is up yet. I misplaced my glasses and eventually found them on top of the shoes I wore that were next to everything I was looking in.
Closing out the storage unit for sure is #1.

You're getting so much done snapdragon ! You are a good friend, and you have good friends. We were going to visit our friend in the hospital but she was operated again today. I'll go after work tomorrow. My Prof classes start this week, so I'm back to 3 full days/week (2 at school). Exceptionally I'm on Zoom tomorrow (not enough classrooms). I have a very busy 5-week "chunk" till late Oct. Laundry all caught up, everything put away. (DH finally unpacked.)
