PS- Trump killed half a million on their side, and it didn't matter. Explain the COVID outbreak as it tragically unfolded in the US was entirely preventable. with aggressive testing, masking, and selective shutdowns, we could have stopped the disease in its tracks. because Trump took pretty much the worst path imaginable, 1M Americans died unnecessarily. half of them were "his people". i never would have imagined his response. it is the response of a distant, uncaring father, who watches his children slip into addiction, mental illness, and disease while he counts his money and shines his trophies. he is the Anse Bundren of our national family story. those of you that are lucky enough to have good parents should know enough to avoid people like him. those that are not should recognize him for what he is. if he wins again, he will do what all dictators do, and try to erase our collective memories. but i will not forget. nor will the majorities that voted against him. so long as we all shall live. we, and his atrocious record, will have the final word on his character. and the verdict of history will be just as i (and others) have said: that he was the worst president since Johnson and Buchanan, and possibly ever. and those that vote for him despite our warnings will have to live with that awful choice. may our grandchildren properly place blame for these tragedies where it belongs.

Initially the early deaths were primarily democrats, and his response was lackluster and in some cases harmful, as medical supplies bought by blue states were intercepted and confiscated by the federal government. He could have easily encouraged masking, distancing, and vaccine usage, but instead he allowed his party to rebel against all of them. You can see how later in the pandemic after vaccines were available, the deaths shifted from primarily democrats to become primarily republican. www.pewresearch.org/politics/2022/03/03/the-changing-political-geography-of-covid-19-over-the-last-two-years/

the number one thing he did wrong was failing to to get a strenuous testing protocol in place. i remember his language of the time, which was basically "we don't really want to know how bad it is". what....the...hell? i mean, it makes sense if you are trying to downplay the seriousness of the virus, which is what he was doing. but it makes no sense in terms of disease control.

I just read an article that says a lot of the evangelical christians support him because they think he will trigger the end times. So basically they believe he's the anti christ. And they think this is good. Who the hell purposely tries to trigger the end times?

Who the hell purposely tries to trigger the end times? those who want the rapture, of course. i wish they would get it over with and rapture their asses out of our country. edit: can't say i disagree with the anti-christ part. not everyone can kill a million people and maintain viability as a candidate.

But wouldn't enabling the anti-Christ be something that PREVENTS you from getting raptured? Cause Trump sure as hell isn't Jesus so he's got to be the other one. Honestly he is one of the few people who actually made me stop and wonder if there really is something to the apocalypse thing because damn does he fit the description. I thought it was the people who stood with Jesus and against the Anti-Christ who get paradise. I must have read the wrong version of the Bible or something.

I think their thought process is that they are saved and will be raptured which means they get to go immediately to paradise without having to actually die. The fact that the voted for the Antichrist won’t negate their Godly life. So they are all in.

Democrats should talk about this loudly and often. I am special. I got an annulment, so my first marriage doesn't count.

I think he was likely responsible for many more deaths than a million. I know I lost 2 cousins, hard core Trumpers I'm sure. Both died of COVID, how stupid can you get? We lost quite a few in our small communities. And I'm betting they all voted, so that should help next time.
I thought only 144,000 would be the chosen ones, are there supposed to be more? That sure isn't many.

That sure isn't many. it is just a round number. i agree with you. i gave him a pass for about the first 100k. after that, it is all on him. and yes, that includes the number of deaths under Biden. the key is to get people to buy into the vaccine, and his people never did.
