I will warn that one of the emails was from SafeOpt allegedly on behalf of a retailer. I confirmed the retailer does not have my email address. I have never subscribed to an email list for them either. Never bought from them online but did spend some time on the website.
I have ideas how this company may have scammed access to my email address which makes me very unhappy. Perhaps a sophisticated way to steal your info if you "bought" using their email?

Retailers buy email lists like they buy snail mail lists. The + trick I mentioned earlier can be helpful in tracking who sold your email addie, too.

Compared to the other posters on this thread, I guess I should consider myself lucky as I haven't had any problems with getting e-mails from every Tom, Dick and Harry after I've looked online for something.
My gripe is with all the ##% ##%% ads I have to put up with no matter where I go for weeks and weeks after I've looked at something even though I didn't purchase it.
My latest PITA Ads concern a comforter I just looked at from Kohl's. Now, I'm being bombarded with comforter ads from Macy's, JC Penny's, Home Depot, Sam's Club, and five other outlets I've never even heard of, all showing me the exact same color and style I had looked at previously at Kohl's

Since our cat died, we have a chipmunk and red squirrel problem. DH looked online at what kind of traps and/or bait are out there.
He's getting some fabulous ads now.

It never ends. I have Hidden Ads on FB by the dozens every day this week. They're worse than cockroaches.
