Doubt RMDs will be suspended again like in 2020, or if they were it would be another terrifying event

I really don't have a plan. Tax laws can change so quickly that I don't feel like it matters what I do. And if there is plenty of money left when DH and I are dead, the taxes are the kids' problem. I told them I plan on spending the last penny then dying, so if they get anything i consider it a win. but if you spend you last penny....you're still going to get your next ss check - and maybe a pension from your 'new' job? - so you will never be penniless, and there fore can never day. you just made yourself into a vampire.  |

I have zero idea how much they are leaving each of them - it could be $1,000 or $100,000 or any other number. (I think my Dad has somewhere between half a million and 12 million - in other words - my parents keep their situation to themselves). I told my kids that they will get the money from my parents and not to expect anything from me. Of course, that will depend on if my parents give them a little and me a lot, or vice-versa. Or, the way they are hanging, myblarents outlive all of us and need to take money from my estate. |
