I switched over to Fox for a few minutes. And as expected, they're outraged! TFB.

Months ago his lawyers negotiated the return of some boxes. However, at the time the national Archives claimed that more boxes with classified materials were missing. They should have gone after those missing papers long ago.

let the frog march begin. March? The poor man is disabled. Have you already forgotten about his debilitating bone spurs? You know the ones that kept him out of Vietnam? At least let him use his golf cart

They may not be looking for anything that would make him a criminal. Officially, I believe they are just pressing him to return the documents that belong to the archives.
If those documents reveal crimes on his part, that would be a bonus. A big exciting wonderful bonus.

Nothing like this has ever NEEDED to happen to a President of the United States before, because there has never been such a blatantly corrupt and criminal President of the United States before.

Wasn't Nixon "compelled" by the courts to give up the tapes? Nixon was just smart enough (or surrounded by smart people whom he listened to) to know when he was backed in a corner.
I don't think we should prosecute Trump unless we have seriously big, bad shit on him, and Republicans can at least somewhat be in board. As much as we all would bask in the glory of him being in jail - with him still having a significant following it would be dangerous to poke that bear for something that could be deemed petty.

Yea, yea, yea. As expected. Posting the first paragraph only. link provided to read the rest. Republicans erupt over FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raidA growing number of Republicans are erupting over news of an FBI raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, accusing federal agents of unfairly targeting the ex-president for political purposes, with some suggesting that the law enforcement agency be “defunded.” Republicans erupt over FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid

I imagine they have pretty good evidence. I read the article, apparently, when they viewed where the docs were posted after the return of files, they saw Top Secret items. They asked them to secure the room and a padlock was added. Sounds like trump did not give them all back, like surprise. I imagine this is a pretty solid case FBI and DOJ. I sure hope so.
And I noticed in trump's statement he did not say former president.

I've said before, if this ends in any way other than with Donald Trump being executed, it will be insufficient. If that punishment has ever been appropriate for anyone in this country's history, it is for this man.

I'm sure they did and wouldn't surprise me if someone was in there looking through that stuff before it was locked and knew exactly what they are looking for.
I want them to make sure he can never get in the WH again. He did all his crooked stuff in the open for all to see. But being the antichrist, his followers were deluded, to seeing only what he wanted them to see. Yes, he needs permanently deleted, but doubt that happens.
Also think more of his followers are falling by the wayside, but not enough. And with what they are doing in each state to suppress voter turnout, and then possibly getting the AG's to throw out votes he very well could get in again.
They did misjudge by letting the Supreme Court get rid of abortion. That may rock voters to dems like it did in Kansas, think they were too sure of themselves on that one.
Not even God can help us if he does get back in by crook, and it will have to be by crook. We are done for. Would split the military and the total justice system. I would guess civil war, not for certain. He would suspend all laws and it would become a dictatorship in short order.

They were saying this AM on MSNBC that when Nixon left office Ford granted him the ability to take his documents with him and house them in a private library where he could delete the stuff he didn’t want in the public record. Because of that Congress passed a law that Presidents must preserve all their documents and not take them with them post-presidency. So it is 100% illegal for a president to pack up classified documents and take them home with him, thanks to Nixon.

I also went to visit Fox to hear the snowflakes gnash their teeth about how horrible this is.
Invading his house!! When he isn’t even there!!!
They’re trying to create some kind of charge to keep him from running again!!!
Where did all that rage and indignation go when Hillary was discovered to have sent some documents that were later called ‘classified’ through her private home email server?
Remember ‘lock her up?’
Now hauling classified documents away in boxes and stashing them at your club, only returning them (or at least some of them) when told to - that’s perfectly fine and not at all jail worthy?
The GOP hypocrisy is limitless.

Had Republicans had a Come-To-Jesus intervention with Trump when they knew his public and private behavior was crossing the line for a president of the United States, the F.B.I. would not have been knocking on Mar-a-lago's door with a search warrant. Republicans have only themselves to blame. Republicans speak out against FBI raid of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate
Since news broke that the FBI searched former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday, a growing number of Republicans have spoken out against the raid. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., took to Twitter, posting a statement that read in part: "I've seen enough." "The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization," McCarthy continued. "When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned." Rest of article here: Republicans speak out against FBI raid of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate

I think it would be great if the National Archives came out with something like the following: We would like to thank the FBI for their assistance in retrieving documents that legally we are required to retain. We now believe we have all such documents and consider the mattered closed. And the FBI: We received a request from the National Archives to carry out a legally issued search and retrieve warrant. We fulfilled that request and consider the matter closed. And both repeat that message as often as necessary. If they do that, this will just become part of the noise that Trump spews and only his minions will remember. If it gets fed, it has the potential of helping Trump in his efforts to be seen as a victim of political prosecution.
