Nothing else matters but the bottom line. He is a total failure rating of 36% make him the worst clown ever first of all, public approval only matters one day every four years. overlooking that fact, it would be well to note that the following presidents polled lower at one point of their presidency than Biden: Clinton (about the same), GHWB (28%), Reagan (about the same), Carter (28%), Johnson (about the same), Truman (33%), W (24%), Trump (about the same), Nixon (24%). so, IF what you are saying is true, then three of the top 10 presidents of all time are "failures/ worst clowns ever". it should also be noted that EVERY PRESIDENT SINCE KENNEDY did the same or worse as Biden at some point during their term in office except Obama. if you are a reasonable person, you would either change your yardstick or toss it out.

You must have failed capitalism and ace communism and socialism if you are interested in a side bet, i will bet you $1000 that he will not reach 24% polling average. i can explain why, if you want. but if you think about it for more than a second, you can figure it out for yourself.

I know things are higher. I do drive a bit less but I can't see much has really changed. we eat out some, we buy what we want. But since we don't have debt our fixed costs aren't that bad except for drugs. I have quit buying clothes, but that's because I don't like what I see, but I've been buying shoes more, adds variety. Since I buy a lot in bulk, I do notice the next time I buy how much it has gone up. But all in all we are ok. I'm sure many are just barely getting by and I feel bad for them.

With 15-20 years to go until retirement, we aren't doing anything differently. Still throwing as much money as we can at the market, for now.

Your history shows over 1500 posts. If one had the time to go back and review, would there be even one worth reading for anything other than comedic relief? Being both wrong and (seemingly) borderline-illiterate in most every post can't be good. Trust us. Well, now he makes Jimmy Carter only the 2nd worse President.

I like this chart. Really helps to put things in perspective. I am late to this thread. Where is the chart?

Jimmy Carter on his worst day as either president or person is as far ahead of Donald Trump on his best day being either as a major-league baseball player is compared to a Little-Leaguer. Biden too. Maybe even further, since there may never in any job anywhere have been someone with such a prolonged record of abysmal behavior and performance as Donald Trump. The average mental patient would have been less damaging to this country than Donald Trump.

I like that I keep tons of random spreadsheets for years and years, they're fun to go back and look at. Found this "goals" one from 2017 and it makes me feel better about my retirement plummeting from nearly 900K to 700K this year. I was only at 343K just 5 years ago!

I am noticing that everything is going higher.
Our local grocery and even some in the city have produce that doesn't look very fresh. This is not the norm, so I am assuming it's not selling as fast.
Since I have meat I don't buy any. But looked at Fresh Thyme, 1 pork chop was $5.06. Imagine feeding the families people are going to have with no abortion, and possibly no contraception. And only the poor will be heavily impacted is my guess. If some have the means they will get birth control pills and abortion if needed. They just won't talk about it.
I expect a big underground market for birth control pills. Wonder how your doctor will deal with that? They won't be able to talk to them about it.
I expect inflation to continue for some time until the supply chain is working better and products that are in short supply come back at reasonable prices.
I wasn't before, but am trying to spend a bit less now. We have at least another $1500 to spend or more when we take grandson back. I priced a train which I would like, but it's also about $2600 round trip for all of us. And surprisingly many are booked 100%.

Because getting red in the face, screaming and throwing food at the wall screams strength to some people. Do not know why.

BTW, I find this so funny because I remember Paul telling us how Hillary was having meltdowns and therefore in his opinion, she was unfit. Now you don't even need to read those books Trumpers called hit pieces, it is in the news about at least some of his tantrums.

Yesterday I sent off an e-mail to my advisor with my thoughts on simplifying my investments. I still have too many moving ports. I'd be selling out of a "sector rotation" program that picks the 4 ETFS they think have the most momentum (choices include energy, consumer cyclicals, consumer staples, healthcare, etc.) and periodically they get out of one and into another. Overall they haven't been doing any better than the overall market lately. This would generate a $9K capital loss in the after-tax account. I'd buy some simple market ETFs- SDY, VTSAX and a little ONEQ (the latter is NASDAQ- out of favor now). I own those already in another brokerage account. At his suggestion I'd already gotten out of a lot of growth and tech investments and had enough cash sitting n the sidelines already so I see no need to hold onto any of the proceeds this time. I'm still waiting for the bottom of the market! We'll talk after the 4th.

Carter is an incredible human being. 98 years old and still getting out there and doing everything he can to help people. I wish all politicians cared that much about this country and the people in it and not just the power.

Carter has also shown that he cares not only for the people of this country but the people of the entire world. Not many presidents will have the post presidential legacy he has.
I believe he still lives in Plains, Georgia. Don't know if he is still able to teach Sunday School but you know if he can, he is.

I wish all politicians cared that much about this country and the people in it and not just the power. I always thought it was great he was involved in Habitat for Humanity. www.habitat.org/volunteer/build-events/carter-work-projectWe have been deeply honored to have two of the world’s most distinguished humanitarians as dedicated Habitat volunteers for more than 35 years.
Throughout their involvement with the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter have been tireless advocates, active fundraisers and some of our best hands-on construction volunteers.
The Carters demonstrated their commitment to social justice and basic human rights over and over again during their time in the White House. Their resolve has only persisted since moving on, most notably through the Carter Center in Atlanta. They have also worked on numerous Habitat builds both in the United States and around the world alongside passionate volunteers just like you.

Unfortunate that Carter was not a more effective president, but he is easily our best ex-president when you measure what one does after leaving office.
Laughable also that the gutless chicken hawks of the GOP deride someone as "wimpy" who graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, became an officer, and volunteered for submarine duty during his service. How many Trumpists ever served this country? Cruz? Hawley? McCarthy? Gaetz? Gosar? I'd bet those are all hard "no"s along with MANY others. And Rudy was apparently as big a draft-dodger as Trump. Bluster will never equal courage, and Republicans would do well to mind the difference.

I saw someone post on my facebook, how noone has any money and can't even afford food??
Several of us responded, we have NEVER seen as many cars on the roads around here and in our nearest bigger city. When some entertainment is offered it is packed. And all our restaurants are always full and seems as many people are doing take out.
Walmart isn't selling as much nor other retail stores. I just bought grandson a ton of clothing for this fall. Lands End was 70% off, a lot of Pennys was too. If you have some money the deals are great. We have a lot of food put back so we are good. Right now here is fresh veggie and fruit season. Melons really produced here this year, seeing cantaloupe for $1, think watermelons are $3.99 or so.
I found some chicken drumsticks for $1 a pound and bought DD and I some tenderloins for $3. If you will cook and are selective and shop stores I think you can do pretty good.
Of course ins, meds, all those things are high and going higher. Still we are fine.
Gas is finally going down, saw some for $3.83, expect it to go lower. Think it's still pretty high out where hubs is right now. He is heading home in the morning.

"Our local grocery and even some in the city have produce that doesn't look very fresh. This is not the norm, so I am assuming it's not selling as fast." This is true. Two weeks ago, the employees had Aldi threw out boxes of produce because they weren't selling.
