I can barely keep my eyes open. I've been like this for a week and not sure why as I've been getting to bed at a fairly reasonable time. I think it's just everything going on at home. I've had contractors there everyday for almost a month straight now. Not that it should make a difference to me since I'm at work, but I think I'm getting mentally drained from all the upheaval and decisions...not to mention worrying about what this is going to all cost. I may bail early tomorrow, put on a movie and just crash all afternoon. I have to be back to the school at 1am to pick up Carrot and I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay up that long without an afternoon nap first! I was the same when I had the tub to shower conversion done. People in my space for days on end and so many questions. It was so tiring.

There are dozens of little yellow flowers on my tomato plants. I hope they're the little black cherry tomatoes....as sweet as candy. One of my favorites. My tomatoes have outdone themselves this year. Remember that I’m on the gulf coast and earlier planting than you! Enjoy.

Just after I posted I got a call asking if he should put a hole through the decking for the downspout or wanted to just leave no gutters on that little piece of roof. I was out with Carrot having lunch and deferred to him. I am so done with making decisions.

If you are talking about the roof over the sliding patio doors, I think you would want a gutter on that roof. You don't want the rain coming off that roof in front of the slider.

So we all know I'm nosy right? Since I basically spend my time stalking Zillow lately, I've noticed that the buyer that made an offer on my old house backed out since it went from contingent to active status. I'd love to know why.

Yep, that's the roof and we're going with putting the gutter back up and putting a hole in the deck for the downspout (per Carrot's decision!) That's what I originally assumed would be done, but when he called to verify and said he gets people that don't want him putting holes in their new Trex decking I started second guessing myself. Thank you for the affirmation!

Is your realtor a friend of yours? Around here all the realtors know the skinny on what's going on with every house sale it seems. Of course, we have a gazillion realtors and not a lot of houses for sale.

I'm over today. I think I'll have a cocktail and try to take a nap.
I hope things improve soon. I don't like this.

I'm having a weird day today. I found out my old high school crush passed away. It didn't happen recently, it's been awhile, but I only heard about it now. It's a strange feeling (no, I never thought we'd get together now). It's like the earth opened up, and took away part of your history. Plus, I don't even know the details of how he died. I always think it's a shame when anyone doesn't live to be old enough to retire. I hope his wife & kids are doing o.k.

I had to read the obit twice because I couldn't believe it was actually who it said it was. We never really got off the ground relationship wise because we were too dysfunctional but the attraction was definitely there. He would have been my first if we'd had protection that night. It doesn't help he was a year younger than me either. People younger than me aren't supposed to die. I have no idea how he died either. It was a closed funeral and wake for immediate family only. I asked my mom about that and she said sadly that is often times a code for suicide or another situation that would lend itself to awkward questions the family doesn't want to deal with in the moment.

I used to see her at networking events back in the day, but haven't in a long time since I'm not a producer anymore. ETA: I still asked her to spill the tea if she finds out.

Closed funeral for immediate family is fairly common not necessarily suicide. Family maybe just doesn’t want to deal with a lot of people

Yes, it IS surreal when you find their obituary. Unfortunately, there was little to no information in it.

My classmates are busy planning our 55th reunion for the fall.
They have put out the list of the deceased and asked if anyone knows of anyone else and the dates of death for some people. The list did not have the names of several people who are deceased because they only watch the Des Moines papers. Not everyone stayed in Des Moines.
The worst thing was they had a woman listed as deceased who is alive. Her cousin is in the FB group. They sent out the updated list and it still included her. So they told her again.
I know for the 50th several people told them dates of death for people who died a long time ago. Like the one who died in our senior year. That was in the yearbook. My friend's date of death was not listed and I gave it to them for the 50th.
We also have a classmate who died in Vietnam. I have known that since it happened in 1971. So have many others. He was listed as being killed in a car accident. Someone went to his Find A Grave, but that wasn't enough. The committee searched the Des Moines paper's archives for the obituary.
There are also websites for the names that are on the Wall. His name is on the Wall. I have looked for his name on the Wall the two times I have been there and also at the traveling wall.
One person commented today that it seems they can't keep straight the people who were not in the clique. Sure looks that way.
I enjoy chatting with them on FB but I do not enjoy them in person in a large group. They break off in to the clique and the non clique. I am not putting myself through that misery. I did it twice and I'm not doing it again.

There have been many graveside only services for my family members. That is what I plan for myself.
I do not like the cost involved in the funeral industry.

I just heard from my "big brother" former co-worker. he's actually working walking distance to my house today. he's doing some of the controls programming for some of the utility infrastructure of the development that keeps getting closer. I'm gonna drive over after my telehealth call with the ortho to talk about yesterday's CT scan. while we chat here and there, I haven't seen him in person in almost 9 years. wow!

Anyone watch The Boys on Amazon Prime?
Some of my co-workers have talked about so I checked it out. I’ve been semi-watching it and listening to it while I’ve been working for the past 2 days.
Talk about some fucked-up-ness!!! OMG!!!! 😱😳

I’m enjoying an unexpected free cocktail on my plane ride home. The flight attendant just handed me TWO vodka bottles with my soda, maybe I looked stressed? Lol. I mean, I did have multiple stressful phone calls at the airport before boarding, but they were more of the “wtf is wrong with my difficult coworker” variety than actual “omg work is so stressful for me.” But hey, I’ll take it!
For some dumb reason, I scheduled physical therapy for 8am tomorrow. I won’t even get home til after 8 tonight. I am really mad at past me for doing this. But it’s too late to cancel without penalty, so I’ll suck it up

Some parts are so messed up, especially last season's first episode (and some others), but we usually enjoy it. I just love Billy Butcher. And I hate Homelander, but the actor plays that part so well!

We are now under contract at 417 Lawndale Drive, Pearisburg, VA! We have also been approved for the HELOC so we can pay cash for the new house. We will be changing the flooring from carpet and LVP to Laminate. That will be done after the closing on 7/30. Yay! We will now be close to DD and the grandkids.

We have been waking up early and scrambling to get DS to the camp bus stop (25-30 min away) every morning, and doing the same drive or having sitter pick up in the evening. It’s a pain compared to the local branch and we only do it for one week, so he can do harvest and cooking camp (only offered at this location). There has been no harvest or cooking for two of the three days this week. I am really peeved.

Brought Jerseyguy home from hospital today It’s HOT here, even with air conditioner it’s 86 inside I put on a blue and white seersucker sun dress. Much cooler than shorts and a top But I seem to have misplaced all of my sandals except for very old Clarks red pair. But they’re my favorite Love Clark’s shoes even if no longer made in the UK

I had been using emery boards on my nails, with poor results, as I found they make my nails ragged. I'd have to do it again and again. Now I've discovered glass nail files, and they're SO much better!
