Procrastinating. I returned a mail order package that didn’t work, called in my prescriptions and made sure we have money for the dog sitter on Thursday when I drop Harriet off. I should start the paperwork for my Medigap plan and prescription plan, but have no interest. I have a rotisserie chicken I need to pick the meat off of for dinner tonight. I don’t want to get my hands messy. I need to clean the bathrooms….but I don’t wanna! We leave early Friday am for Salmon Arm. Luckily, I made reservations 6 months ago, we’d never get a reservation now. I guess I should call my sister too, since I cut her off the other day. Which of the things I don’t want to do do I do first? I used 3 ‘do’ in that sentence. gloves. I bought gloves when I started shredding 3 and 4 birds at a time. 200ct box is under $20 from Amazon.

Dodged a bullet. Thought I posted something in teams, but it never posted. Hopefully, it doesn't show up.

All right found out Gwen got her Dtap and Menigitis shots last year so she's good to go. Either we forgot to update with the school or they lost them. Either way the doctor's office gave me a copy to give to them. She was due for her second HPV shot so we went ahead and did that. DH is going to take care of the dog sometime this week. I said just charge it and I will reimburse from savings. I always do that anyhow that way he can go any day of the week when it suits his schedule. I got the pet hotel booked it freaking doubled in price since last year. We don't trust FIL to be able to take care of her and she's scared of my dad. I don't think in three weeks we can get her acclimated enough for her to let him take her outside 2-3x a day. Plus that's a lot to put on my dad's plate right now. So we're sucking it up. I do like our vet as a vet but I was less than pleased when we used them for boarding. I've been happy with PetSmart no need to shake it up and tempt fate. I finally found a place to take Gwen for her birthday. Now I need to get a move on scheduling horse back riding for our vacation. Waiting till we are actually there doesn't work anymore, I may have already waited too long. We'll see. The kids will live if we don't go. Still depressed but at least I got a few things checked off my list. I feel a teeny tiny bit less overwhelmed. FWIW DD9 watches a neighbor's dog while they are gone. They pay her $20 and a bag of gummy worms. She thinks she's rich. She lets the dog out on a schedule, feeds, fills water, and usually spends an hour snuggling him and reading to him each day. They get a great deal, she gets responsibility, and a bit of spending money. Another neighbor just asked about pet sitting on our fb page. They were looking for someone to host the dog since the grandma will be staying with the kids and they want the dog out of the way. That won't work with our 3 cats, but DD is in line for future family trips. I keep teasing her that the real money would be in poop scooping but she says gross! Maybe in a few years when money means more

Quick question for those who have had chemo - do you have to drink and cook with bottled water the rest of your life? A friend on fixed income mentioned she needed to cut back somehow, and I asked her if she had considered using tap water instead of a case+ of bottled water weekly which runs around $6 which is over $300 a year. She said because of chemo following her cancer surgery about 16 years ago, she could not drink or cook with tap water, and had to be careful not to get it in her mouth or nose when showering. I've heard of that for organ transplant recipients who are on powerful immune suppression drugs but not for others.

Maybe in a few years when money means more Yeah I trust exactly zero of the neighborhood kids with my dog. Plus Charlotte doesn't do well with strangers having been abused in the past. She's not aggressive but she will be very stressed and hide. We want our home to continue to be her safe space so we're not going to bring in people to watch her she isn't already comfortable with. I just don't think we have time to get her fully acclimated to my dad. She's known him now for three years and we are just getting to where she will approach the door when I am standing there talking to him. We have a ways to go before she'd go potty for him. She handles boarding just fine so we suck it up. I found out the price increased because the built in the play time/walks into the price. It used to be additional but people were not purchasing the extras so their doggies would sit in their rooms all day except for the routine care involved in boarding. The price now includes 30 minutes of play time each day (group or individual depending on your dog) and multiple walks. I said that's fair once she explained it to me. It's actually cheaper if I recall correctly. No way I could have swung 7 days of individual play a la carte. I usually did two, one in the middle of the week and one towards the end.

I've heard of that for organ transplant recipients who are on powerful immune suppression drugs but not for others. Most bottled water IS tap water. Nearly 64% of bottled water in the U.S. comes from municipal tap water sources. Which means we often pay for water that we could drink for free from our tap. Companies that sell bottled tap water, collect the water and treat it before bottling. However, your tap water is treated by water treatment plants and must meet a high standard of water quality, as defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Bottle water companies do not have to meet these water quality standards. So, while bottled tap water has been treated, your tap water has been treated and tested to meet a high standard of water quality – and is FREE! waterpurificationguide.com/brands-of-bottled-water-that-are-actually-tap-water/

Well, maybe for $60+ per poop, (or more) and if I didn't have to actually handle it. As in push it into a scooper with a small rake or something. Then, if there wasn't too much, I'd think about it. Yuck!

This reminds of one of the most epic parental takedowns on FB that I have seen. The mother of a girl that DD is in school with posted something on FB about going all mamma bear and that some kids were being so mean to her little darling. I have seen her little darling be a raging bitch, and DD has been on the receiving end of it. DD dealt with it herself. A girl in HS (a few years older that DD and little darling) posted, "Well, maybe if "name" didn't body shame other kids, people might be nice to her. Yes, little darling is big on body shaming larger girls, including my DD. My DD has told her, "I might be fat, but you're a stupid bitch." Yeah I was in the room for the latest of it they are blaming Abby for. Kid B was being a bitch to Kid A. Abby told Kid B that if she could not share with everyone then she wasn't welcome in Abby's bedroom anymore because we told her that her room is a no fighting zone. Kid B stormed off on me, I followed her saying get back in here I am supposed to be watching you for your mom. "Don't care I am going home!" Okay fuck it you little shit. Abby and her other friend went back to playing nicely in Abby's room. They all went over to Kid B's house and that is when they sprung the intervention on DH. They didn't even bother to ask the actual adult in the room about what happened. Whatever. I don't need that shit. It definitely sounds like Abby was doing what most parents would expect of her. I think you are right, once she is back in school and dance starts up, she will be fine.

LD is the class clown at daycare, whereas he wants to eat everyone walking by his house. I just checked my daycare's website, bc I didn't think they do boarding. woof. am I ever glad I have people fighting over me picking them to watch my dogs when I go anywhere. two dogs is $200/24h. that includes the day of daycare ($70) plus going home with one of the daycare handlers. so no crates, overnight lockups, or anything like that. definitely not something I'd do for a long trip, but it is fantastic to know it's there if I need it in a pinch.

They also have filters for showers too. Filtered faucet water into a filtered pitcher for drinking like double caution? Just a thought. I’ve only known one person on chemo and she just drank tap water but this was some time ago so maybe things have changed. Let us know what you find out

Comcast Cable is out in my area so I have been leisurely watching a four hour YouTube video of a front of locomotive view of a train traveling from French Hautes-Alpes area (Briancon) to Marseille. Pretty scenery.

No. I went through chemo, and had to be very germ conscious, because it beats your immune system. But even during chemo, there was no mention of drinking bottled water.

Bottled water is also on sale all the time - we recently got 4 cases of 24 packs for 94 cents each. Otherwise its 3$ max or 2 for 5$. We usually have 3-4 cases on hand as we are in earthquake land.

That would be the only reason I could think of for this request. Most people have massive numbers of microbes in their mouth and nose already. Those microbes serve a purpose to protect you against much more pathogenic microbes by squeezing them out of nutrients.

I don't think we get sales like that. I usually buy spring water versus bottled tap water. The local grocery store spring water just came down to $3.69 a case. Prior to the gas price rise they used to be $2.99 or sometimes 2.50 on sale if you bought at least two. Because of sales right now Poland Spring is usually a better deal for me. I have however seen it as high as $5.99 a case not on sale.

Thanks all. We are on a fully accredited municipal water system with extremely rare boil water advisories, maybe 3 in 20 years. I am going to gently suggest she re-visit the issue with one of her many doctors.
Edited to add: The $6/case is delivered price from WalMart because she is disabled

I am going to gently suggest she re-visit the issue with one of her many doctors. Yeah, I was going to suggest that, too- find out what it is that they're concerned about. Maybe boiling water will do it, maybe buying a filter pitcher. I just hate to see people buying piles and piles of plastic bottles if there's no need for it. I hadn't planned to spend anything today- just take my recyclables to the recycling center- then I got an e-mail from the grocery store with a good price on cauliflower- today only. So of course I had to stock up on a few bath bombs since I'll be seeing the grandchildren in a couple of weeks. Oh, and I was passing CVS and needed to refill my prescription, which at least was "only" $76, compared to my first refill this year for $480 because the deductible applied. And I had a coupon for 40% off one item so I bought a box of N95s for my trip. But hey, I totally avoided Amazon Prime Day!

My sister just returned from Greece and dropped in to give me a little Greek gift. It's a very pretty bracelet with a small charm, to ward off the evil eye.

I buy 2.5gal fridge packs at BJs (so, never on sale, but..) it's $6ish for a 2pk of these. I don't buy 1/2L bottles unless they are on stupid sale, which is 3/$10 for 24pks in my area. hugs, and thank you for looking out for your neighbor.

So many plastic bottles especially the small water bottles. Does no one trust tap water ? Or must you bring water bottles when out of your house?
Trying to use less plastic. DIL now has a store in her town that Has liquid detergents etc that are sold by filling containers you bring to store. She also found a shampoo bar that she likes but not conditioner yet.

lurkyloo - I was driving in that storm as it made its way to you. It was really scare, and trees were coming down everywhere. Glad everyone is safe! Quoting instead of liking I too drove through it (high winds, raining so hard you could hardly see) to go pick up DS from camp. At the time I was kicking myself for not leaving earlier, but that might have wound up with me driving through the actual microburst that was ripping up enormous trees (weather people have decided it was a bow system not a tornado. Still frickin terrifying.)

Verbal offer made and verbally accepted Should get the electronic version tomorrow and be able to give notice Friday They bumped it up enough that it’ll be a very slight raise even after accounting for increased cost of health insurance.

Our water is very hard and not tasty. Our kitchen sink faucet design does not accommodate one of those faucet filters and there was never any room in the prior fridge for a Brita pitcher. In addition, some of the town's wells were removed from service last year for testing above EPA limits for several man made chemicals. Are we certain they really removed them from service?
DH very rarely drinks plain water. He prefers Propel. With the new fridge we got and the water filter on it, I get a lot of water from there. However, I do like bottles when traveling and for my bedroom at night. I don't want to knock over a cup on the nightstand. I'm blind as hell without my glasses or contacts.

So many plastic bottles especially the small water bottles. Does no one trust tap water ? Or must you bring water bottles when out of your house? Trying to use less plastic. DIL now has a store in her town that Has liquid detergents etc that are sold by filling containers you bring to store. She also found a shampoo bar that she likes but not conditioner yet. actually, no. I tested the water in my childhood home on a college co-op job, and was pretty horrified. I don't drink tap water, and neither do my dogs. and I'll own that bougie detail about my life.
