I am referencing migrants at the southern border, not people coming in with a visa and already meeting Federal standards of vaccination requirements to fly here. Up until the last few months the migrants at the southern border were entering with no vaccination records. in that case, i would like you to back up the 1M. but my other objection stands: the vaccination rate in Mexico is 62%, so how much worse is it having Mexicans here than US-ians? It is my understanding the migrants at the border are not necessarily just from Mexico any more. Unless our government can give us the vaccination rates of all migrants coming across we have to think the vast majority are not vaccinated, other wise we would be told there is a huge vaccination rate crossing over to here. Undocument migrants with no vaccine, no problem One citizen in anywhere USA and they are killing all of us is the problem.

Why are we worried about immigrants being vaccinated when we are not worried about citizens being vaccinated?

Why are we worried about immigrants being vaccinated when we are not worried about citizens being vaccinated? Posters here are more worried about citizens not being vaccinated than migrants, because no one protests about this on the boards. Unfortunately not enough people worry about allowing unvaccinated people from entering the country. That is allowed while posters here refuse to speak to or see in person extended family members who are unvaccinated..... Are you concerned?

Most of my neighbors are unvaccinated and unmasked. Very few are first generation immigrants. Am I concerned? Not much right now. The case levels in our area are low. But I watch the case loads, and if they go back up with the new variant I’ll go back to wearing a mask because- science- but I’m 100% sure if I do get Covid it will be from a MAGA neighbor or coworker or family member who has refused to get a vaccine or wear a mask or avoid super spreader events because- freedom. I won’t get it from an immigrant.

Using your number of 1 million unvaccinated migrants, it represents a 1.5% increase in the number of unvaccinated individuals. Hardly worth worrying about. Posters on here continue to state that I have no right to know if someone else is unvaccinated, so why do you even bring this point up. We could decrease the number substantially by vaccinating those who are waiting at the border. I am sure the GOP won't have an issue with that. Finally, if we want to decrease the risk of additional spikes, vaccinating the 60+ million citizens who refuse to be vaccinated will have a much larger impact than worrying about those at the border. Continue with your straw man arguments.

Posters here are more worried about citizens not being vaccinated than migrants, because no one protests about this on the boards. no, we are no more worried about them getting vaccinated for THREE reasons: 1) we are only talking about 120000 people per year, or about 10000 per month. that is a very small percentage of the US population, as pmd pointed out, and it is not the explosive issue that the GOP thinks it is. 2) since they are vaccinated in approximately the same proportion as US citizens, i am about as concerned as i am with US citizens, not more or less. 3) since the majority of unvaccinated Americans are AGAINST the vaccine, it seems more likely that Americans are the problem going forward, creating a biome for further mutations, than immigrants.
