After Trump’s contentious courtship of the Saudis, $2B for Jared Kushner
In a political career rife with flip-flops, few rank as high as Donald Trump’s 180 on Saudi Arabia. For more than a decade, Trump had held up the kingdom as a prime example of U.S. foreign policy cozying up to nefarious allies of convenience. Almost immediately upon being sworn in, though, Trump shifted in a more Saudi-friendly direction. He held fast to that posture even after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was implicated in the gruesome murder of Washington Post contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi. He proceeded to override Congress’s objections to U.S. involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen and pressed forward with arms deals it had rejected. All along, the motivation was apparent — Trump made clear that his overriding motivation was money — but the benefits weren’t. Trump’s solicitousness of the Saudis appeared to help them more than it helped us, and it ran decidedly counter to his “America First” foreign policy. At the tail end of his presidency, a Washington Post headline summarized the situation this way: “Trump threw Saudi Arabia a lifeline after Khashoggi’s death. Two years later, he has gotten little in return.” Trump now appears to have gotten something in return — for his family. The New York Times reported Sunday that Trump’s son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner secured a $2 billion investment for his Affinity Partners private equity firm from a fund led by the Saudi crown prince. This despite the fund’s advisers heavily criticizing the proposed deal. Among the reasons cited by the advisers: Those objections included: “the inexperience of the Affinity Fund management”; the possibility that the kingdom would be responsible for “the bulk of the investment and risk”; due diligence on the fledgling firm’s operations that found them “unsatisfactory in all aspects”; a proposed asset management fee that “seems excessive”; and “public relations risks” from Mr. Kushner’s prior role as a senior adviser to his father-in-law, former President Donald J. Trump, according to minutes of the panel’s meeting last June 30. But days later the full board of the $620 billion Public Investment Fund — led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler and a beneficiary of Mr. Kushner’s support when he worked as a White House adviser — overruled the panel. Especially as the GOP pushes to raise questions about Hunter Biden allegedly profiting off his father’s name and power, it’s not difficult to grasp how sketchy this is. The Times noted that ethics experts said the investment could appear as payback for Kushner’s help in the White House, or as currying favor should Trump be elected president in 2024. The serious reservations raised by the fund’s advisers heighten questions about why the deal would go through. I wanna know what happens when the Trump family defaults on that loan. The Saudis don't exactly strike me as being "understanding" about a loan not being paid back.

It’s hard for me not to laugh when I see Trump Jr whining about the criminal Biden family.
Your sister siphoned millions off the inauguration committee charity fund, your dad has a stable of lawyers on call because he gets sued so much, and you, Mr Trump Jr. met with Russians in a NYC hotel in an attempt to get dirt on Hillary.
And what has Hunter done? Worked for foreign companies? Struggled with a drug problem? Owned a lap top?
At least Hunter admits he has a drug problem.

And prosecute them to full extent of the law. And as you know, Trump was correct about the Russian collusion claim and who was responsible for it. get over it.

You mean that Russia was partly responsible for trump winning the first time? Add that to Comey's unorthodox investigation and Hillary would have won.

Are you intentionally oblivious or is it just natural. Change your name to Clueless. Or Ignorant. Either word works for you. I suppose you call yourself a Christian too. Sooooooooooo far from it. Well, my Trumpian relatives would claim the Trump’s are just doing business deals, which are always just good capitalism.
The fact that the Bidens have money, since they’re strictly politicians (although Hunter isn’t, but they’ll skip right over that) any deals they made must therefore be corrupt.
Also, I would like to point out that the bags of cash the Trump’s are sitting on in TN’s cartoon above left off the New York tax dodge, Ivanka’s siphoning off money from the Inauguration charity, Trump siphoning off money from his charity (that ended up having to be shut down due to his misappropriation of funds), the whole Black Sea resort that laundered money for Russian oligarchs and the scam he used to cheat the rest of his family out of his dad’s inheritance.
And that’s just off the top of my head.
But yeah, sure, Hunter BIden had a really big salary from that gas company, didn’t he, so that must be illegal?

It drives me nuts how they can justify anything the Trump family does as good business, but anything the Biden family does as criminal. I still don't understand what the crime was that Biden or his son committed. Hunter never served under his father's or Obama's administration. Is he not allowed to be his own person and work wherever he wants? I know there was a lot of conspiracy attached to Burisma, but none of it seems to actually amount to anything! And if Hunter gets into trouble for something (I guess tax evasion??) that would be on him, not Biden! If I got into some kind of legal trouble, my mom wouldn't then lose her job, just because she's my mother. Maybe I haven't read enough into it, but the whole thing just seems to be incredible reaching....grasping at anything really!

"Bazinga!" indeed. And the below is just for the next two plus months. 2022 is shaping up to be a legal nightmare for Trumpworld. Here's a timeline of upcoming court cases and legal obstacles.April 15 — The Trump Organization is required to meet this deadline to hand over a batch of outstanding discovery documents to the New York Attorney General's office for its investigation into potential financial misconduct. April 20 — For the same case brought by the New York Attorney General's office, the Trump Organization needs to give the judge a progress report on how it's complying with subpoenas for other documents. April 25 — Judge Arthur Engoron, who's overseeing the subpoena case between the New York Attorney General's office and Trump's company, is scheduled to hold a hearing to make sure all his orders have been complied with. May 2 — Jury selection is scheduled to begin in a trial regarding a civil lawsuit brought by a group of protesters against the Trump Organization. The protesters sued in 2015, alleging the company's security guards roughed them up during a demonstration outside Trump Tower. A video of a deposition Trump was forced to take this past fall is expected to be shown at the trial as evidence. May 2 — A special grand jury for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' investigation into Trump will be empaneled on May 2 and continue for up to 12 months. This announcement on Monday comes after Willis formally requested to have a special grand jury that would give her the subpoena power to obtain documents and compel witnesses to testify. May 6 — Federal prosecutors need to meet this deadline to respond to Stephen Bannon's motion to dismiss the charges against him for refusing to comply with subpoenas from the House of Representatives January 6 Committee. After allowing Bannon to respond, the judge is expected to rule whether the charges can stick and when to set a trial. May 10 — Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is scheduled to give a deposition for a lawsuit brought by a group of people who say the Trump Organization pushed an alleged pyramid scheme. May 12 — Eric Trump is scheduled to give his own deposition for the same lawsuit. Ivanka Trump will also be required to testify, though her deposition date hasn't yet been finalized. Their father is set to testify the following month. May 13 — A federal judge has ordered the government to provide a status report on the cooperation of Joel Greenberg, a former Gaetz associate who has pleaded guilty to federal sex trafficking charges. Greenberg could potentially be a key witness in the Justice Department investigation into Gaetz, one of Trump's most loyal supporters. He'd been scheduled to be sentenced in March but his attorney requested a delay while his client continues to answer federal investigators' questions. May 20 — The Manhattan District Attorney's office has until this date to respond to motions from the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg to dismiss the criminal charges against them. It'll be an opportunity to lay down any new evidence they've gathered since filing the indictment last July, as well as to dispel reports that the investigation is faltering. June — Willis told the Associated Press in January that she is expecting to decide whether to charge Trump in Fulton County, Georgia, by the first half of 2022. June 16 — Two days after his birthday, Trump is scheduled to sit for his deposition in the lawsuit brought by plaintiffs alleging the Trump Organization pushed a pyramid scheme. As Insider's Yelena Dzhanova reported, they sued after saying they lost thousands of dollars from joining a company called ACN and trying to sell its telephones with video capabilities. June 29 — Litigants will get to see a copy of Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" tapes. June 29 marks the deadline of discovery for the ACN case. While Trump, in "Celebrity Apprentice," vouched for the ACN Videophone, litigants are trying to figure out if other footage shot for the show demonstrated otherwise. ACN lost an attempt to bring the case to arbitration, and a jury trial is expected to be scheduled for late 2022 or 2023. More months of legal problems for trump in the link below. 2022 is shaping up to be a legal nightmare for Trumpworld. Here's a timeline of upcoming court cases and legal obstacles.

Interesting. They’ve asked for tax records involved in a paternity case for Hunter Biden. And it says Hunter Biden has paid of a big tax bill he owed. I hope they figure out if he or his old firm owes any more money. Let’s compare that with this article, one of many (so many articles when you goggle Trump tax fraud!) this is an investigation of not just Trumps kiddos, it’s also against Trump himself, too. It claims Trump Inc. and his two sons were involved in a fraudulent multi level marketing scam. news.yahoo.com/trump-2-eldest-sons-scheduled-215044808.htmlLet’s compare the two situations - Hunter Biden, and possibly his partners, being investigated for tax fraud while his dad pointedly does nothing, because he doesn’t want it to look like he’s attempting to stick his thumb on the scale of justice to help his kid, compared to - well, Trump, his whole company and two sons being sued - and this is just ONE Of the lawsuits currently against them. So I hope you have reserved enough gloating to cover all the Trump lawsuits.

Bazinga? Bah humbug you mean. We are STILL waiting for the Lootin' Loser's tax returns despite several judgements that they need to be produced . And just in case you really are suffering from severe short term memory loss like many of your posts imply : Hunter Biden is not the president nor an advisor to the president. He is just Biden's son.

I admire how Joe Biden is staying out of this. If his kid did something wrong, he’ll do whatever the penalty is.
Hunter has also been transparent with his drug addiction struggles. Unlike other children of famous politicians.
