For whatever reason, DH has been keeping up on this. My personal favourite self-righteous argument for why she shouldn’t be confirmed was because it was a “blatant attempt to stack the court”
Like do you have to drug yourself to be able to say such a thing with a straight face and indignant quiver? I can’t even imagine how to pull that off.

Republicans must be clutching their pearls. I can't imagine that anyone thought they could stop her confirmation. They still wanted to talk a bunch of shit - just like Dems did for Gorsuch and ACB. (Some people may have thought they stood a chance to end Kavanagh's appointment). Trump got three appointments instead of the two rightful slots he had. Republicans are still high fiving themselves for stealing the seat from Merrick Garland, and getting ACB confirmed in record time. I think RR got 3 appointments in 8 years. Now, if Biden pulls a FDR and expand and stuff the court, that would be exciting!

Now, if Biden pulls a FDR and expand and stuff the court, that would be exciting! Just to clarify: However, the most well-known attempt to shift the size of the Court is President Franklin Roosevelt’s 1937 “court packing” plan, which would have expanded the Court to fifteen seats. While many commentators view Roosevelt’s plan as a failure, it arguably moderated the Court’s anti-New Deal rulings and thus should not be viewed dismissively. (emphasis added) link So actual expansion wouldn't be "a FDR". FWIW: Great history at link.

Can someone explain to me what is up with the people of Kentucky that they have elected not one (Moscow Mitch) but TWO utter assholes to the US Senate? Rand Paul sure was "classy" again with his stunt today.

The ads have started here - several about particular bills. I have no idea what any of those bills are about - but I do know that various groups wants me to think they are scary as shit without telling me why.
