Tonight I saw a news clip of Pelosi talking about something. I wasn't really paying attention except I noticed as she was talking and her hands were moving all over the place. She looked like a puppet and someone was pulling the strings. I had to laugh. I flashed back to when I was young. We had a great aunt Grace who was Italian. Her hands were always moving when she talked. You didn't stand close to her.
At one family gathering I remember someone bet her she couldn't talk without using her hands. I think there was a $5 bet. After a minute of talking she couldn't do it so they gave her another chance. Now they taped her hands to the chair. It was so funny because she almost couldn't form complete sentences or thought without her hands moving.
We all laughed.

And who can forget Trump mocking a reporter with a disability. I bet the VanWinkle family laughed at that too.

I guess Rip wanted to diss Nancy today. It takes too much effort to put real puppets hands allover the place unless you cheat and just shake the entire puppet. Really weird thought there Rip. Lots of Italians live in my part of NJ, so to me its normal. I know some styles grate on certain people. Like Tenn's first video post, it bothered me that Trump needed to hang on the podium with one hand and gesture with the other. As if it was too taxing to stand fully upright by himself.

But his supporters cheered. Says a lot about his supporters. When Trump was in office, and someone on Facebook would say what a great man he was or something similar, I would post this clip in response. FB eventually banned me from posting it; I forget the exact reason.

Not sure why you felt the need to post this. As an Italian-American, I think that this post is offensive and based on ethnic stereotypes. But that seems to be where conservatives are these days, since they have no interest in policy

I’m not Italian but I talk with my hands too. I’m not sure what the issue is.

It's a way to criticize a powerful women and to utilize tired negative stereotypes. As I said, if you have nothing of substance to your arguments, you need to find some way to criticize people.

My apologies. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just remembering my great aunt. What a lady. Quite a character too. Flamboyant. She was like our Auntie Mame. www.imdb.com/title/tt0051383/. Family lore is she worked with the OSS, British intelligence and Italian Mafia during WW2 in Italy against the Germans. There is a picture of her in some mountains with other men carrying guns. How or where she got her money is still a mystery to this day. She died in her sleep at 97.

It might not have felt offensive if, perhaps, the subject line were changed to, say, "LOL...people's hand gestures". Also, this isn't really a Politics topic, but more "YM Off Topic" or "Everything Else". Just a suggestion. Your Aunt sounds like she was a real badass!
