Nothing because those kids don’t matter. right, it is just the white Cis kids that matter. preferably Christian Republicans. Don't forget rich. You must be white, straight & rich to matter to the current Republican Party. No other life matters to them.

It's easier to transition if hormones are given before puberty. Public funds are used to transition in Quebec. It's a question of mental health, not cosmetic surgery. I'm fine with that. I don't know what's going on the Evangelical States of America, but it's scary. Canada needs a wall. You guys are nuts. Feel free to ignore us all and pretend we don't exist. Better yet, maybe block all the Americans here. Lol I don't think you appreciate just how impossible you (as in Americans) make it to ignore you. Or how pissy you get when you are ignored.

As far as I’m concerned, medical care under any form and circumstances should be given to all provided that is necessary. That would mostly leave the butt lifts and boob increases to the “elective” side that would not be funded by public. But as you know, opinions differ and education and health care seem to be rather unimportant compared to “what country will we invade next” or “how can we boost corporate profits?” As a young man, before I actually became an “American” I was always in awe of “how great this nation is! How do they do it?” After living here a bit over 25 years, I can’t stop but wonder “ how in the world did this nation become the most powerful?”That's how I felt about big Telco, three to six months in. A: Countries are made of people. Some countries have had more time to get in their own way?!

I had to read it for a class recently, and I was amazed at how prescient he was.

Tik Tok and the internet has made some of them stars though because they feel no shame. Slightly OT, an actor made the comment about how to make a good Tik Tok video in his opinion (watched and shared a lot). Do something that you think, IDK should I really do this? It's stupid. This is what makes a good Tik Tok video in his opinion. The population of Canada is less than the US, so if idiocy was equally as prevalent, there would be fewer Canadians out and about acting like jerks than Americans. And part of the problem is some in the US have embraced the stupid idea that we are superior to others simply because we live in a democracy that was founded in 1776. I think most good world travelers are not assholes and do go to enjoy what the rest of the world has to offer whether it is food, culture, natural beauty or whatever. On the other hand, there are entitled rich roaming the planet who think just because they are wealthy, they are more special as human beings than they are.

haven't you arrested those stupid rednecks yet? Many of them, but they're still jerks. Good for you on the arrests. And towing the vehicles. I hope they are being charged a fortune to get them back.
If they have commercial vehicle licenses, and it was up to me, I'd suspend those as part of their punishment. Don't wanna do the right thing and used your truck to blockade those that do get it right? Okey, dokey. No more long hauling for you. No license to drive commercially means you can just go find a job doing something else, you rights-whining, freedom-bitching backwater dweller. And take Mike Lindell and his 10,000 pillows with you, so that landing in hell is nice and soft.
I am so sick of these dumb butts on both sides of the border, crying about their lives being trampled on. It is not and never was about you as one person, you cave-crawling, amoeba-brained anarchists. It's about humanity, society, all of us. You don't occupy the planet alone. Though dumping the lot of you on an island, all together so you can infect each other while spewing baseless conspiracy theories does have a great deal of appeal.

i got an email from BestAmericaNow that was promoting a convoy to DC to protest mask mandates.
how much you want to bet that by the time they get to DC, there is NO mask mandate ANYWHERE?
if that happens, i am guessing they keep the money. but that doesn't seem to phase the cult.
they seem perfectly content with the regular grift.

we didn't have a democracy in 1776. we simply didn't have an elitist monarchy then. it took us another 11 years to get a LIMITED Democratic Republic. Considering the percentage of the population left out in the establishment of this democracy I feel that this modifier is warranted. Now granted those exclusions were a sign of the times but , if you look at all the (anti-)voting laws that have been passed in the last years it very much looks like the rich white dudes think this is the way it still should be.

I read an opinion recently that said we didn’t really become a Democracy until 1965 on the passing of the Voting Rights Act. Of course those “rich, white dudes” at the SCOTUS have already scuttled portions and seem to be turning a blind eye to the current Repo-Con effects re: voter suppression. Oh well, it was a great 57 years.😥

i have argued on this board and elsewhere that we reached our peak in 1973, the year our public debt reached a post war low, inflation adjusted FMW reached and all time high, and income disparity reached an all time low.
that was the year Nixon resigned, i believe.

I think we are still working on the Democracy and meritocracy now. In 1973 I became a teen. I want to affirm the best is yet to come even though its been ugly. In 1973 a woman with a PhD could not be considered a member of technical staff at AT&T. Only a senior technical associate. I forget when it changed, but I think it could have been as late as 1980 or so. America was founded to be better. It still has not fulfilled that promise IMO. Sweden, Denmark, Singapore and many other countries are way ahead of us on many things.

i was ONLY referring to the aspects of society mentioned in my post. gay rights didn't exist in 1973.
but there is no democracy without economic democracy. my sociology professor taught me that in 1986. i have never forgotten it.

He also thinks all the money they raised should be used to reimburse the costs of policing them, cleaning up after them and compensating citizens adversely affected by them.

I agree providing the trucks belong to owner operators. Truckers may be owner operators leasing their owned trucks to their employer and running under their employer's authority. Or they may be on their own operating under their own authority with their owned vehicle. However, they may be company drivers. In that case they are borrowing trucks that belong to the employer and run under the employer's authority. An employer shouldn't be out a $100K+ truck just because an employee took the borrowed truck and didn't bring it back. In that instance IMO, the employee should be terminated and charged with theft and the truck should be returned to its rightful owner.

Or let the truck be impounded and the company can sue the driver for its value.... And there is no reason it could not be sold back to the same company who then sues the driver for that cost.

Suing sounds easy enough, but actually getting the money is a completely different story. Plus impounding the truck is putting the company out of money that the truck could be making because of a driver's bad decisions. It also puts the customer out of luck on their items or with a long delay. Plus the company who's freight is being held hostage during the time it takes to do all that.
