Some of the stressed out or angry crazies are targeting certain groups of people more than usual. NYC has had a rash of women being killed or severely beaten. So, no surprise to me this happened down south. www.yahoo.com/news/attempted-murder-two-white-men-133000363.htmlA Black Federal Express driver says that he was shot at by a white man during his shift. The 24-year-old man has given pictures to the authorities of the vehicle he was using for the deliveries showing the bullet holes from the alleged shooting.
According to the Mississippi Free Press, D’Monterrio Gibson was on the clock working when two white men attacked him on Monday, Jan. 24. The men were identified as Gregory Case, father, and Brandon Case, son.
The young man works for FedEx and was delivering packages in the Jackson suburb of Brookhaven, Mississippi, around 7 p.m. when a white pickup truck drove toward the residence located close to the designated address on the drop.
Gibson recalls the events of that night, saying to the Free Press, “In my mind, I’m thinking [the driver] is leaving to go to the store or something like that, but then they get extremely close to me and start blowing their horn. I proceed to leave the driveway. As I’m leaving the driveway, he starts driving in the grass trying to cut me off.”
I drive down about two or three houses. There’s another guy standing in the middle of the street pointing a gun at my windows and signaling to me to stop with his hands, as well as mouthing the word, ‘Stop.’ I shake my head no, I hide behind the steering wheel, and I swerve around him as well. As I swerve around him, he starts firing shots into my vehicle.”

Yep. Maybe I'll start a thread on the other stuff I mentioned. Just the other day, a traveling nurse (male) set a coworker on fire in the break room of I think Hackensack Meridian Hospital in Hackensack, NJ (Bergen county). She has third degree burns. He was found later having committed suicide. She was in her 50s, he was low 30s. One or two women have been pushed on the subway tracks in NYC to their deaths. A young woman in Brooklyn or the Bronx (I think) was recently killed by stab wounds by some man she did not even know. An Asian woman just came out of a coma from a severe beatdown to see her husband. Random violence against women is way up in NYC.

Saw an article this morning with caption saying the same thing...but I didn't stop to read it.

any thoughts that this might go away sometime soon should be dispatched immediately. These folks are similar to the opportunists that prey on people in NYC. They do this because they can. Because they assume they will get away with it.

I’ve read that FedEx put him on unpaid leave because he didn’t want to drive the same route the next day. So nobody even took him seriously at first, then his job demands he go right back to the same route the next day and give the same fools another chance to actually kill him. It’s all terrible! And shame on FedEx!
Apparently, people made a big deal about it and FedEx agreed to pay him. Why not just do right by him in the first place?!

I've heard that FedEx doesn't treat their people very well. They are contractors not employees. UPS they are employees and there's the union.
It's not right but I'm not surprised.

FedEx Express employees are employees of FedEx. Full benefits. The vast majority of FedEx employees in the U.S. are Express employees (200,000+ Express employees?). FedEx Ground has contract employees. Their rate of pay (benefits if any) is determined by the contract employee who employs the contract employees. The courier in Mississippi was an Express employee.
