How do you clean your house? With one eye closed. Late to this thread but had to comment. As long as I don’t have my glasses on my place is spotless. But made mistake of going into bathroom with glasses. Set off cleaning bomb, backed out and closed the door. Will update how cleaning went.

My son has an I Shark and said how they like it so I bought one a month or so back. It's the pet version which I guess does a better job. I REALLY like it. I have an old I phone so can't set up the zones and stuff and use the app. Maybe will get a new one for Xmas But it will still map the house and clean, but the best part is this one dumps the dirt and goes and finishes the house and dumps as needed. You only have to the bigger canister every 60 days but I do about once a month. We figure the fuller it gets the harder it is to empty, who knows. I have 2 cats so it keeps the cat hair under control. It will go over throw rugs, but doesn't do a great job on the nubby ones, does on the rest. It has sure helped as I was running the sweeper everyday. I do need to get the dust mop out more often and go under places it won't go. I like that this cleans under the beds and the dining room table. We now have all hardwood and ceramic tile, so does a great job. I will get out the vacuum maybe every 2 weeks and go around, but it picks up way less. I wish they had a robot that dusted furniture, that is one of my least favorite jobs.

Get a static duster that has an extending handle. This is fast on most surfaces without moving and dusting each item and one swipe on the back of doors and door jams, done. I use it on top of curtain rods, the curtains or drapes and the walls, picture frames.
I run it across the chairs and couches. The fronts of the cabinets, TV screens and backs. It's soft. I have used it on areas that are hard to get a vacuum hose near without moving heavy furniture.

Seems alot of the features break, including the microfiber head coming apart in the washer or leaving coming apart on surfaces you are cleaning. Artemis - assuming you got a good one. Seems a risky purcahse.

I try to be clean but sometimes it's not like I want it to be. I told hubs at some point I will get someone to clean for me. So far I'm still ok with doing it. But the day will come I'm sure.
We have talked about selling the rentals but now we are starting to do it, I feel kind of lost doing it. Like we won't have a purpose.

I've worried about you for that reason. You have to find a new purpose. Every community has needs for volunteers and you are smart, compassionate and tech savvy (Excel etc). There are many ways you can those around you, wherever you live. Your DH will need to find his own path and purpose going forward

We will have grandson, that will fill a lot of time I think. If we can get an acre or so in the nearby country and hubs gets his garage, he will be happy. And I think son will come around often. Hubs may be able to redo his kitchen for him or something. DIL wants to learn to can. Problem is there you have to have a greenhouse or the wildlife will eat everything, so not sure about that
I've looked at tons of houses and though a couple might do, nothing has met hubs and my needs yet I've seen. If we can get one for the right price we will have him a garage built. Not a one has really been even close to this one so difficult. We have a really nice home, has all the amenities anyone could want and hubs has added so many convenient little things for me.
But we have always been lucky and I think if that is what we are meant to do it will work out for us.

You are definitely right to check the reviews Rukh O'Rorke . Obviously some of them are biased but it's always good to read them. Unrelated to cleaning, but our couches are really sagging. They are very old. There is apparently an AMAZING new product that solves the problem!!! Except reading the NEGATIVE reviews, it doesn't solve it THAT well ... looks like we might be better off going with plywood instead of their "miracle solution". If I hadn't spent some time reading the NEGATIVE reviews, I wouldn't have known that. Our couches are leather, and the leather is still in great shape. So I'm willing to invest a bit of money into them, but I'm doing my research to know what the best option is. I'm narrowing it down between the miracle solution I found on Amazon/old-fashioned plywood/getting a professional in. But I would have likely gone for Amazon's "miracle solution" if I hadn't done my homework, and I probably would have been disappointed.

Just get a Swiffer on the extension pole. I think I paid $13. I would prefer the washable/reuse one, but I do like my swiffers! I do have a good static duster. I didn't mean to recommend a dud product. Mainly to show what it looked like. I do have a swiffer, also. I have art work that a swiffer won't work on. My static duster head does not come off for washing. I shake it to get dust out.
What ever works quickly, I am for!

House cleaner took the day off for her bday which means she doesn't come again until 1/11. She should be scared but so far my family has done very well at the daily christmas break chore list so the house is way more put together than it's been in months\years. And I'm running robovac Timmy on a daily basis now.

I'm waiting for H. to go for tennis (if the courts get dried) so I can clean after 3 weeks. I usually dust and keep the bathrooms clean during any week.

I miss my I Sharp, but not sure how well it would do on carpet.
Today I need to mop the bathrooms and it's all clean. When I get back home another house to clean, about 3 times bigger.
With just DD and I plus one kitty this is a snap.
