...and in the kitchen. Candace Owens argued that Disney dressing Minnie Mouse in a pantsuit is an attempt to 'destroy fabrics of our society'Candace Owens spent part of her latest Fox News segment arguing against Minnie Mouse wearing a pantsuit. The conservative commentator chatted with Jesse Watters about the character, who will occasionally wear a blue blazer and matching pants during Disneyland Paris' 30th-anniversary celebration this year. "I mean look, this is why people don't take these people seriously," Owens said on Wednesday night. "They're taking all of these things that nobody was offended by, acting like they have to get rid of them and destroy them because they're bored. They're absolutely bored." Representatives for Disneyland Paris did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. Owens went on to argue that "they're trying to destroy fabrics of our society," though she didn't specify who she was referencing. "They're pretending that there's issues so everybody looks over here," she said. "Look at Minnie Mouse! Don't look at inflation, Jesse. Look at Minnie Mouse. The world is going forward because you've got her in a pantsuit. Never mind that you can't get anything at the grocery store and you can't buy a piece of bacon unless you've got $30 in your pocket." Despite Owens' claims, Disney is only temporarily dressing Minnie Mouse in pants, and at the time of writing, the company will only be doing so in France. The outfit was created by Stella McCartney in celebration of the theme park's milestone anniversary, as well as to mark the start of Women's History Month in March. The outfit includes multiple references to the character's famous dress, including a polka-dot pattern and bows. Speaking with D23, Disney's official fan club, McCartney said the new look serves as "a symbol of progress for a new generation." She also added that "responsibly-sourced fabrics" were used when creating the outfit. "What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity, and that she inspires people of all ages around the world. Plus, she has such great style!" McCartney said. Complete article here: Candace Owens argued that Disney dressing Minnie Mouse in a pantsuit is an attempt to 'destroy fabrics of our society'

Minnie is too busy running her own bow shop to listen to a bunch of conservative snowflakes. She also races cars so she can run them over on her way to work. Daisy can come behind in her car and finish them off.

The conservative snowflakes are trying the sex roles sell shtick again.
Tucker Carlson can't get aroused by the green M&M, because he apparently feels sexy women should wear high heels. So same shit 1960s+, 2022 with Candace. I am female whether I wear a dress or pants.

So why does Candace Owens run around flapping her pie hole instead of staying home with her family as god intended?

Who told her to talk about Minnie's pant suit rather than inflation or supply chain disruptions? She's the one that decided it was more important to talk about Minnie's pantsuit

Gee, I just bought 4 lbs. of bacon at Costco...(it's packaged 4 - 1 lb. packages wrapped together)...for less than $4.00 a lb. She needs to get out more. Also, I didn't find any other items missing off the shelves. The only thing that was not in stock was t-bone steaks....at least the only thing missing that was on my list. So I got NY strip steaks instead....at Sam's!

I forget the number because it's been years since I worked there but Minnie has over 100 different costumes and several of them were pants. Minnie wearing pants isn't new. I don't know why these snowflakes are acting like it is.
If my childhood photo albums were at my place I'm pretty sure I could upload a photo from like 1990 with Minnie in pants. At least I'm almost positive her space suit had pants.

It's so weird how they accuse unnamed other people of doing exactly what they are doing, and fume in outrage!
I mean, seriously, doesn't that quote flip right around to describe THEM? Who was offended by Minnie Mouse getting a new outfit (in ADDITION to her iconic dress)? Who is acting like they have to get rid of it and destroy it?
Projection, much?

I think the true mark of equality would be Mickey Mouse in a skirt, heels and beehive wig, a la drag queen. Who better to represent the community of people who get paid to look more fabulous in a dress than I ever will?

We call this cancel culture.
There is nothing wrong with Minnie Mouse ... leave it alone.
Anyway, who doesn't love polka dots?....... Its from a different, more innocent age.... and its just fine.

We call this cancel culture. There is nothing wrong with Minnie Mouse ... leave it alone. Anyway, who doesn't love polka dots?....... Its from a different, more innocent age.... and its just fine. I call it evolution, much like humans. Minnie was initially created to be the love interest of Mickey Mouse; concept art for Mickey showed a female mouse alongside him. Minnie was designed in the fashion of a flapper girl. Her main outfit consisted of a short flapper girl dress that often revealed her distinctive patched knickers. In the 1929 cartoon The Karnival Kid, it was also revealed that she wears black stockings which were also fashionable among flapper girls. Her shoes are probably her most distinctive article of clothing. For comedic effect, she wears oversized high heeled pumps that are too big for her feet. Her heels often slip out of her shoes, and she even loses her shoes completely in The Gallopin' Gaucho. When she walked or danced, the clip clop of her large pumps was usually heard clearly and often went with the rhythm of the music that was played in the background. Along with Mickey, she was redesigned in 1940. Her hat was replaced with a large bow, and bows were added to her shoes as well. Her eyes were also given more detail. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, her look and personality became more conservative. Minnie almost always wears red or pink, but in her early appearances, she could be seen wearing a combination of blue, black or green (when not depicted in black and white). During the second half of the thirties, Minnie did not appear as often in Mickey cartoons. This was mainly due to the growth in popularity of Mickey's new sidekicks, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto, whose appearances in Mickey cartoons had more or less replaced Minnie's role. Minnie's appearances in Mickey cartoons thus became less numerous, but she did have a few major roles in some Pluto and Figaro cartoons during the 1940s. Minnie made a sort of comeback in the 1980s when she was re-introduced in Mickey's Christmas Carol and then got her own starring role in Totally Minnie.[16] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnie_Mouse

Its only evolution if it has progressive growth ..... and in this case its a matter of opinion. She wears a cute spotty dress ...... nothing wrong with that. Plenty of people love wearing dresses.
I have no time in the day to worry about a cartoon in a trouser suit....... to appease someone's extreme sense of equality.
Its a problem that isn't there.

There are real life problems for women, even in Western Countries with support of the law and HR
Higher incidences of domestic violence Not being able to go out at night for fear of attacks. Stalking, rape, verbal abuse. Lack of employment opportunities
We tackle some of this stuff... and that surely would be evolution.

Not sure if the bolded is your comment, but are you aware that it is a Stella McCartney designed outfit for some milestone Disney event in France? (And its over forty years since her redesign to the polka dots. Not sure if she was even a character at Disney the time I went. 70s? )

I am not less of a woman if I prefer pants and shoes that aren't high heels. The bolded happens to women who don't fit the mold. And has for years.

I take it you just leaped into the conservative talking heads freak out and didn't bother to read the suit is a special design along with multiple other outfits to celebrate Disney's anniversary. Her traditional dress has gone no where. Nobody "canceled it. She's wearing something new to market the anniversary. Disney has partnered with designers before with other character. This time it's Minnies turn. Just wow.

A fictional female mouse in a trouser suit is to appease an extreme sense of equality? I want what you’re smoking.

Dear fucking lord it's not cancel culture. There was no uproar at Disney to do this - in part because Minnie has had pants as part of her wardrobe for decades. This is not new. There's no reason for people to get their panties in a twist. All Disney did was partner with a fashion designer to highlight the upcoming anniversary. Which happens all the fucking time. It's called marketing.

I think we found Candices target audience.
So if we evil liberals have this power can we demand Mickey and Donald get a dress?
I feel like there are so many better ways to outrage people than a female character in pants. This isn't 1950 people.
