I'll be curious to see if my DH gets anything. His are paid off but I'm pretty sure they were in default at one point before we were married.

DN1 keeps getting student loan consolidation offers from them. I don't know if that means his loans are through them or not.
At least his wife has no student loans.

From what I'm hearing getting thrown around on the college boards, the 66,000 loans in this settlement were private loans made to students that attended for-profit schools.

I saw those were the loans being canceled. There's another smaller pool of money for others.

Whomever they're for, that's an average of $28,000/household which is an annual salary for some people.

Whomever they're for, that's an average of $28,000/household which is an annual salary for some people. The average means very little if a quarter of the households get un-payable, out-of-control student loans forgiven and the rest get $260.
