finnime as you say, you'll see this summer. Worst-case scenario you plan it for next year.

Decluttering the refrigerator of leftovers. I'll call it "lunch". I need to go through a box in the kitchen of foods and kitchen tools, to consolidate it get it out of there. B uses a walker to get around and I'm afraid it's sometimes in his way. Sort of crazy, the last boxes we packed and what we wound up with taking. I haven't yet found several things, like Franklin the Dog supplies, but instead found half-full boxes of sandwich bags and foil. Why they didn't get pitched, I couldn't say. I defnitely need to open a box of my clothes and dig out summer wear. This week will be riding into the 80's and probably 90's. I am somewhat concerned that our new home has no central AC. I've had central air my entire adult life. I do hope that the location, on the water in New Englad, will moderate the real heat, and we have plans to install an attic fan, too. This summer will be a test of how bad it really gets. the temperature is definitely more moderate here than even 30min inland. 🙂 I also had a box in the rental, it was my "coffee table" in the basement living room (it was actually in my FB memory this am, with Punk in the pic❤️🐾) that was labelled "the last box packed" 🤣 it had all kinds of shit in there, half a roll of packing tape, a corkscrew, pencils, a sunscreen can. basically a little of whatever minutiae one needs on a daily basis.

Our church is doing a rummage sale. My clean out started with my looking for a specific necklace that I have yet to find. We painted a year ago so a lot got stashed. I had a lot of left over birthday/Christmas gifts for the grandkids. They want checks instead.
The oddest donation will be the snake chaps. How did I end up with those? Probably 15 years ago, a friend was with us for hiking in TX. Someone gave them to him so he gave them to me for my birthday. They were worn a few times.
Everything that goes out is good!

Today's to-do's - Bake banana bread, cook bacon
- Vacuum
- Consolidate and move boxes from kitchen
- Upload OPM statement once DH gets it
- Clean out car
- Find earring(s)
That's enough for one day.

I set up some donation boxes last week while unpacking and took 4 large boxes to Goodwill. Unfortunately, we took a trip to Kansas this weekend to pick up the remaining stuff at my parents' house, so now I have more to deal with. At least most of it is DH's or the teens'. This week, I need to keep plugging along. I either need to get rid of more stuff or get creative with storage. Probably both. Especially the kitchen. My addiction to mason jars is not helping. I miss Washington, but liking Texas so far. I don't feel like this will be our permanent home though; the youngest will be done with school in a couple of years, then DH and I can go wherever. But I'm going to enjoy it (and maybe attend a couple of Dallas Cowboys NFL games ) while we're here.

We are completely overscheduled with the Job 2 interviews. I complained (as did the others). They let me be on Zoom all day today and tomorrow morning, and replaced me for tomorrow afternoon.
I am very happy about that, especially since a bunch of proofreading just came in. I have been feeling very overwhelmed.
So I only have to go in 2 days this week instead of 4.
Off to catch up on laundry.

Washington State, megaptera? That's a big change. But as someone who had to live in a place not of my choosing for much of my adult life, I adopted the phrase "bloom where you're planted." It sounds like you're finding things you will enjoy while you're there. Seek out the things to do that make your area unique. And explore.

I ended up editing P's text tonight to have a lighter day tomorrow. It took an hour. It's been a long day, but that's done! Since Job 2 replaced me tomorrow afternoon, I can accompany DH to his doc appt for his knee.

This past weekend was so busy that last night I was so tired I couldn't hardly move. Saturday I got some general household chores done, change the sheets, clean the litter box, and some laundry, before the kids came over for the day. Once they got here DD and I did a quick once through of a local craft show and then picked up a couple of take and bake pizza's from the place next to where the craft show was being held.
After that we got the chicken coop put together and placed in the yard. My chickens should be ready to move in to their new home in a couple of weeks. DSIL replaced the regulator on my gas grill and he did some weed spraying in my pasture. DD and I did other odd jobs while keeping the kids out of the pasture where he was spraying. Everyone was so tired and hungry there wasn't hardly any pizza left over. Sunday I was on my own so I got out the chain saw and cut back some branches on a couple of trees that hung down too low and were whacking everyone in the face. I then got out the string trimmer and got the grass cut down around the play equipment and in an area along the roadway. This included picking up some downed limbs and tumbleweeds. After that I lit off my burn pile. It was about 5 ft by 7 ft and probably about 5ft tall. It took several hours to burn and I was out there with my hose for most of it. Once the big stuff had burned down and it was just smoldering I did come in and get something to eat. I don't know what it is about burning that just wears me out.
It's too windy today to spray so I think it will probably be a lawn mowing day.

Have been missing in action for a few days. It has been a busy time. The craft show this past weekend was a success. I don't make a lot of money doing these but make a little to eneble me to purchase supplies as I need them.
House cleaning was done this morning so that is off my list.
So happy I hired out the heavy stuff. This is the also the last week of classes -- both the ones I take as well as the one I teach. I have started walking early in the morning weather permitting in the nearby park to make up for some of those classes I will be missing over the summer. I did sigh up to take them again in the fall. Also the class I teach will go from 60 to 90 minutes as my students felt that there wasn't enough time in an hour long class. It won't be that long every week but when needed. Many hours especially in the morning will be freed up once classes are over. Also I prefer to run all my errands in the early morning hours before the heat and the afternoon thunderstorms move in during the summer.
I managed to throw out a lot of items from the garage this motning and also reorganized some things as well. I am beginning my yearly process of downsizing the number of items in the freezer. It is that time of year again. Hope to get enough eaten or able to move to the freezer section of the fridge so that I can clean and unplug the one in the garage.
This week: Classes -- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday A/C MAintainence -- Need to reschedule (they couldn't come when scheduled last week) Craft Projects -- Two ongoing several in the standby stage. 4 are for classes in a few weeks. Have a list of about 15 others I want to do. Home appointment -- Friday. Errands -- Post Office, Grocery, and I am sure to add to this list.
Til later

[snip] Tranquil Truck project: ~I was out of town over the weekend, so the vacuuming/dusting hasn't happened yet. In the interim, a bird did its business on the passenger side window, so I need to clean it, and the entire truck could use another bath. ~The glass mobile repair company said 8-5 today, and the tech called saying he'll be here between 2-3. So glad I raced to get here at 8.... [snip] Upcoming: ~ This afternoon I'll (finally) buy a stick vac for the floors~Attack the ever-growing stack of filing ~Clean windows ~Tend to a semi-struggling plant Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. As always, I start lists and finish only half, LOL. So I captured the above as a self reminder. I've been busy/out on weekends, so haven't had time to vacuum the truck. It is on my calendar to wash the exterior tomorrow, however. The windshield is repaired, and the stick vac was purchased and utilized here at the office. It's surprisingly efficient. I finally addressed the cubby cluster here at my office desk: ~Ordered contacts then tossed the empty box ~Called regarding a medical co-pay invoice to confirm what it was for before payment ~Opened several envelopes to confirm they are indeed CC junk mail and shredded them ~Shredded a few other things ~Organized, calculated, input, then filed receipts from my March trip ~Online chatted with one company, and called another, to remove my address from their mailing lists (an issue since Christmas shopping months ago) ~Speaking of Christmas, tried, yet again, to register my Ninja air fryer. Meh. I'll confirm the model number tonight and if it still doesn't work, I give up. Cubby cleared except for one more task, which is an errand later this week.

I got a bunch of cleaning done over the weekend and prepped for my big client meeting today. After picking up a few things at the store I got one of the garden arches up and secure and then flipped the pool into place and started filling it. I still need to touch up the paint on the top of the pool so I hosed the outside down and am letting it dry.
We had big thunder and lightening storms over the weekend so everything is well watered and growing. Having my compost bin set up is great because I have a space to all the debris that I pick up around the property.
The grass is growing quickly with all the rain so I need to stay on top of mowing.

You guys have been very busy! Congrats on the new homes megaptera and Knee Deep in Water Chloe ! I am working a LOT this week but I was on Zoom yesterday and today. I'm going into Job 1 for ONE hour tomorrow! A 1.5h commute (round trip) for ONE hour! I'm exhausted and not feeling well, I may cancel. Things should get easier after this week. Gd willing this is my last full spring semester. At 27 weeks long, it's truly the semester that never ends. I agreed to do some hours next spring semester, but MUCH less.

startsmart, glad your compost bin is already coming in handy. debthaven, I don't blame you. That commute time for one hour of work is illogical. ~Stick vac box into the recycle bin ~Ninja air fryer is successfully registered ~Did a total of 6 errands today. I'm scrambling to get everything finished before the 90+ degree weather hits. But then, it's supposed to snow Friday so who knows.... ~Grocery order prepared for pickup ~Went to submit a Sam's Club order but discovered my CC is expired. Like, WTE? And to my knowledge didn't receive a replacement. So, called the company.... #firstworldproblems

Thank you Iggy aka IG . I feel terribly guilty about the idea of cancelling, but hey. I planned to offer a Zoom instead (even though she's allergic) but I don't have the materials I need for her here at home. I considered investing in them, but I rarely teach beginners, and don't plan to have to do it again. I have what I need, but at school, not at home. What crazy weather you're having!!!

Your math is right laterbloomer but to be honest it's not one semester, it's a semester and a summer term that overlap, plus interviews of prospective students. I ended up asking L to do her class on Zoom, she refused. The organizer said if L refuses to be on Zoom, she can wait till Sept. Job 1 student classes are over, so we're rarely there now.

Well, I think my kitchen is done. For now. I'm sure there's more to get rid of, but at least everything fits for the time being. Until the next latest, greatest kitchen gadget comes out that I'm going to need. (I did resist the InstaPot craze, so there is hope for me. ) We put out a lot of boxes for recycle pickup today. I need to go through the stuff that just gets stored. Seasonal stuff, sentimental stuff, like kids' old school papers, etc. I'm still not ready to go through DS1's (who passed away in 2018) stuff yet, but everything else needs sorting through. This is my most challenging area, so it might be year long, slow process. I bought a beautiful planner at the beginning of the year. I started out using it, but then quit. I need to get back into using it; I think it helps motivate me to get a few things done during the day. Hope everyone is having a great week!

And that is okay.
We unknowingly rushed my dad on mom's clothes. He kept asking us to get rid of her "things". We wrong thought he was talking about her clothes. He was talking about everything in the kitchen.
We left everything alone until he had to be out of their apartment and we had no choice.

A not inexpensive package of salmon was omitted from yesterday's pickup order, so I went in this morning to resolve it. It took no less than 3 employees, 2 phone calls, and a manager to refund money. Good grief. All I want to do is eat healthy. Got the exterior of the truck washed, and it looks great! And I swear she runs better when she's clean. It's going in for a routine service tomorrow.

I decluttered and cleaned the vanity underneath one of my sinks. Bonus: I found that a nice, display-worthy wicker basket I've had forever, that was trying to contain the stuff in that vanity, fits perfectly on a shelf on my bedside table. The vanity is a double sink one with drawers in the middle. The drawers will be next and probably more time consuming. Then I'll clean under the other sink and I'll be done with that vanity.
I also called the gardener who last year revamped my back patio area. I'm going to have him remove the few bushes I had him leave last year (don't know why I did that, not a wise decision as it turned out), trim back the ground cover to expose the paver trim, and do general patio cleanup.
After being stuck for a bit, I'm making progress. I'm also chipping away at the stockpile in the freezer and pantry.
I have to bake some cookies for two events I'm going to this weekend. Luckily, I can make a few batches and kill two events with one stone.

I vow to declutter today the car. From our many errands and exploits, it has empty water and soda bottles, old mail, and various other trash, plus miscellaneous supplies that haven't found a home yet from the move. Somehow the car is always the last thing I deal with. Probably because we always need it again the day I plan on cleaning it out.
