Met fasting goal and kept under calorie target for two days in a row. Sometimes, I gotta take it day by day.

I'm up 5 lbs. That sucks so bad! It was fast again so I'm really hoping it's water weight. We started our metabolic reset today. My fingers are crossed.

Only 2 days into March and I’m not doing so great. I’m traveling for work, and while I got my exercise in this morning, my food intake has been all over the place. Its hard to always make great choices when you have to eat out 3 meals a day and the options aren’t usually healthy.

flamingo, I concur regarding the meal choice difficulties while traveling. I am recommitting to this thread this late in the game. I hope it's okay. I am doing well in other areas of life except my health. Covid found its way to our home late January, and we were down for several weeks. During that time, I realized the time to make some changes is more necessary than ever. Oh, and water. Must get in a healthy amount of daily water. Now that my lungs seem to have recovered, my stamina is returning. I'm slowly adding things back: Monday: Stretches, yoga, leg lifts Tuesday: The above, and added crunches Today: I walked out to the mailbox and around the building here at the office, and I'll do the above this evening And count me in as a Moon Cheese fan. It's no longer available in local stores, so DH has bought it a time or two online. We enjoy the gouda, cheddar, and parmesan flavors.

I have not made the gym this week for the cardio. I drove there Monday, saw the parking lot and just noped out. I did down load the app on my phone for steps, and for the time I had it on me at work I made 9.7K steps. I still have my weights that I am doing at home while I veggie out on the computer, so I am doing more of that. I just really don't want to be around people by the time work is done. Looking at the work calendar and the start of soccer, I think April is going to try and kill me. And honestly, I don't know if I am making excuses for not being as focused on my goals for me, or just prioritizing based on what I can handle at this point.

3 days in a row meeting targeted fast time and calories. It’s an interesting feeling, not immediately sabotaging myself.

I'm still working with the nutritionist. We had a video chat on Monday and we have moved now to healthy afternoon snack. I'm a pro at breakfast now, and lunch is good 4 or 5 days a week.
This week I was able to get back to exercising. Did it 3 times so far. I'm not going to exercise today, but I have to clean the house and that keeps me moving.
The nutritionist explained that for the afternoon snack I need to follow the same criteria as for lunch and breakfast. Do the same snack every day. She said we're creatures of habit and when we start changing things is when we start getting ideas of donuts or croissants, etc. Lol.
So my afternoon snack is a piece of toast, a cup of green tea and a small peach.
I feel very proud of my progress. No, I do not eat healthy all the time, but compared to before I faced the problem, its been a huge improvement.
My next doctors appointment is April 25th and I hope my weight, my blood pressure and my A1c are all better by then.
As for the nutritionist, I dont know what to do. I bought a "package" that included a first assessment and 3 follow up sessions. I have my last follow up on Monday March 14th. She's been great at giving me ideas for meals and set me in the right direction. We'll set up a plan for healthy dinners next time. But I don't see much value on seeing her every two weeks after that. I don't have much to talk to her about. She gave me the right education and maybe I'll do a follow up here and there. But for support I have a therapist, who is more prepared to talk about my issues with food. The nutritionist seems to believe I will continue to see her every two weeks, she even said Monday at 4 is your time I already have reserved for you. I dont see the value on continuing that often.

I finally went a whole day not eating Moon Cheese and I dropped 2 lbs. I know it's water weight, it was water weight going on too. The weather is warming up so I'm going to do my walks as well.

2,600 steps yesterday. My immediate goal is 5,000, and eventually 10,000. We'll see.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

I would shoot for 7000 steps, 4000 minimum per day, unless your job gets you more anyway. There was an article that said there is no research supporting the 10,000 number. It was just a nice round number chosen for marketing purposes.

Had an epiphany a couple weeks ago. After 20 years of disordered eating while in the military and continuing that disordered eating for a few years after I retired in 2016, once I finally stopped those behaviors and stressing over the size of my waist, my weight actually plateaued and has been the same for the past 3-4 years. I only just realized that last month. I have weighed 2014-2025 (up and down continuously) since 2018 and I'm actually good with that. That being said, obsessing over two pounds or .2 pounds is just not good for me so I'm going to just enjoy this life because it's the only one I've got. And, realistically, I wasn't magically happy all the time when I was less weight. I was just smaller. I've also realized that it is perfectly okay to take up space in this world despite all the messages from marketing that say you're failing if you're not taking up as little space as possible. I told my therapist about the epiphany and she suggested a podcast: Maintenance Phase. If you're looking for something that does NOT tell you you need to lose weight, this is the podcast for you. I will still go for my walks and still go to the gym to lift weights because my bones and such need those activities for longevity but I'm gonna continue to eat the Haagan Dazs and enjoy every bite. Good luck on your journeys, all!

5/5 days of reaching targeted fast, 4/5 days of staying at targeted calorie level. I want to form some good eating habits so I don’t need to think about it so much!

I wonder if all the activity she got working kept her healthier, and then she lost that built-in exercise. Just thinking about this makes me so sad.

I’m sure it kept her active, I exercise on my own, but if I didn’t definite make plans for it I could go all day with getting minimal movement. Modern society is arranged so you don’t really have to move a whole lot.

Overall this has been a good week. I haven't regained weight, just sort of "hanging around" a 2-pound range, up and down. So, I can't complain.

Update: Start Current Weight 213.5 215.0 Abdomen 44" 44 1/2" Exercise - 1/6 Dairy Queen - 0 (MIL 90 y/o keeps drumsticks in the fridge. No one knows how 2 or 3 are missing.)
Last 2 weeks have been bad. Traveling last week out of town visiting family. Eating out almost every meal and no exercise makes for a bad combination. The week before was just useless.
Wife and I are going back on "Fitness Pal" today tracking everything. (Poor woman went from 115 to 118 and is freaking out!)
Something needs to click so I can get a good start and maintain it. Elvis has left the building. (Embarrassing as it is; I'm still here.)

I'm going to need to join and get more serious about my weight and lack of exercise. I was maintaining at 212 but they changed my meds a month ago so instead of eating lots of salad and losing weight, I'm up to 218. This new med makes some people retain water. How depressing. But I do feel better and have the energy finally think about going out and cleaning a part of my garden. I think that will count as exercise as I haven't done it in over a year. My short-term goal is to get under 200lbs. So I'll rejoice when I get to 199. Also on the positive side, my labs were good. Sugar and sodium were down.

161 today, so down 3 from last Sunday. I don't think I am going to set the goal to get to the gym this week. Well maybe Friday since it is a work from home day and I only have an 8am meeting. Food intake was good last week, well besides yesterday but that was special event eating and doesn't count , and working out at home was pretty steady. Soccer practice starts outside this week for 2 nights, so I can walk around the field during that. So I think keeping those things will be my goal this week. I do still need to figure out what I want to meal prep for the week.

2/07 = 206.8 LBS 2/14 = 205.5 LBS 2/21 = Forgot to weigh before leaving on business trip. 2/28 = 207.1 LBS So many bad food choices last week. Broke the pattern over the weekend - it just wasn't enough. I also use the zero app to track my fasting (which I also lacked on the trip). 203.4 this morning, heading back in the right direction!

For today, my weight is up--likely due to stress eating Wed and Thurs and traveling Friday and Saturday. I did get in cardio today. Here's my step counts from last week.
