<snip> I am curious on what others have done to make things more healthy. Better sleep and less stressing over arbitrary numbers on the scale. It's more about how I feel and what I can do vs what my gravity level is.

I fry with mostly avocado oil, though if I deep fry shrimp for hubs or have smelts I will use canola as it takes quite a bit. Avocado would be too expensive in that quantity.
I would eat chicken and fish a lot, but hubs don't like it and DD is getting where she likes it less. I have salmon once, sometimes twice a week, so I bake it. It's good with some sushi ginger, tastes really good on top of it. No problem with veggies, like them raw or cooked and all kinds of them. Same with fruit.
Been using Truvia for my coffee, not bad. And I buy canned fruit with only natural juices added.

Weekly check in
Hit step and water goal last week. I think there was one day with eating after 9:00. Still need to work on the bedtime.
This week is going to be busy and stressful at work, so I am setting step goal at 42000. My other goals include the following: 1. Average water intake of 40 ounces 2. No eating after 9:00 PM 3. in bed by 11:00 on work nights. 4. Attempt to curb stress eating.
01/01/19 177.2 01/01/20 165.2 01/01/21 169.0 01/01/22 167.2 02/01/22 166.8 02/07/22 169.8 02/14/22 168.4 02/21/22 168.6

Well, the scale is back where it's supposed to be (doggone Valentine's cheesecake), but I got back to my low point a lot faster than at Christmas. I'm chained down with paperwork for the next few days, then we'll see if I can get any lower than where I'm at now...

Scale at 208.8 this morning, down a pound from last week. I really thought it would be more, but hoping it shows up next week. I remember that from back in my WW days, occasionally there was a delay in progress. I also need to find a way to get back to the Y. Just haven't found the time lately yet. Or maybe that's wrong - I haven't made the time.
We're also supposed to start going back into the office part time soon. I can't decide if that will be good or bad for weight loss. Guessing its whatever I make it, right?
Shooting for being a couple pounds down next week, and continuing to hit my water goal. Also going to work in some activity, and slowly but surely ramp up to where I know I need to be.

My weight is up and my activity is down. The weight, It’s inflammation—I can feel it in my fingers. I did get cardio in yesterday plus an abdominal work out. My right side sciatic nerve and discs have been in a lot of pain lately because I’ve not worked out my core since last summer.

Wow! The scale surprised me this morning by dropping another pound. The reason I'm so surprised is, I didn't get my last workout of the day accomplished last evening. My joints have been very sore with all of these drastic weather changes. I guess maybe because my food intake is lower, that helped? I'm puzzled, but happy.

Last week got to 163, this morning finally hit 158, will see if it stays there for a few days. So still working on loss.

I meant my weight last week went from 159 to 163 then back down to 158, so I went backwards for awhile.
I HOPE I'm on a roll again.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I use olive extract in water to help with my sinuses and inflammation. The joint of one of my fingers is pretty off right now which means inflammation and lack of hydration. My diet is also very different right now, so that isn't helping.
If I hydrate enough and use enough olive extract, it usually makes my inflammation go down. I know with food sensitivities, etc. this may work for no one but me, but maybe it will help someone. I actually used a little of it in Moon Shadow's water when he was having tilting issues.
Congrats to all those losing weight and getting healthier.

Still don't have the food consumption completely corralled. I did cardio and abs again tonight though.

Back from a 3 day work trip, in which poor food choices were made. Time to pick myself up again.

I didn't make the gym at all. I had work to play catch up on each night and something else going on. M was going out to eat with a friend I haven't seen for awhile. T was soccer, Wed I stayed for my school kids who asked me to come to a wrestling match, Th was the oldest cooking for the open house at the Career and Technical center. Tonight is just recovery from the week. Really going to need to do better for March. Did okay with the food part, but I may blow that up tomorrow at the town festival. I don't think I gained any, but I am not going to lose like I was without staying steady at the gym.

I reason that I get enough exercise walking Franklin the Dog vigorously. Lately as I've been clearing the house I've also been hauling heavy Stuff and running up and down the stairs. Safety tip: do NOT wear reading glasses while descending the stairs, especially when you are carrying anything. I've got the bruises to give proof that it's a terrible idea.

I download and app on my phone for steps, so we will see what it says about work. I am not planning on sticking to anything today with the festival. Well we will walk there, but I plan on rolling home.
Part of it is I know I rocked Jan, but in my head that made a new personal goal for me. Logically I know at the end of Jan work load went up, soccer became a bigger thing, and I need to adjust. Mentally it is hard for me.

I had my doctor's appointment on Monday. I weighted 2.5 pounds less than on January 25th.
I've been good with the healthy breakfast and healthy lunch. I have been lazy with exercise. Today I'm cleaning the house so I'm moving. And Monday I plan to start again with the 3 miles a day workout. The next appointment with my nutritionist is on Monday, and I want her to focus on a healthy afternoon snack, which is the next step. Then we have another appointment on March 14th, when I want her to focus on healthy dinner. She's going to have to go above and beyond with tips and advice there, because dinner is my true downfall.
As my therapist said, slow and steady. Quick and sudden changes mean failure for me. He actually wanted me to do 3 healthy lunches a day, but I've been able to do 5-6 so far.

The doctor told me my blood pressure is high. It's not terrible, but high. She prescribed the lowest dose for it and we'll check it on April 25th when I have my next appointment. She said high BP can cause damage to the heart, the kidneys and the brain, and she had to bring it up and discuss. So hopefully we'll be able to control it.
She also gave me a referral to the veins doctor. I have an appointment for April 26th, which was the earliest available. He won't be able to do much, because I travel in early May, but at least I'll have the first appointment and maybe I can get whatever tests he needs before traveling. That way, when I come back I can start treatment and solve the issue once and for all.

I really need to stop Moon Cheese. I eat a whole bag once I start. This makes me gain all kinds of weight overnight and causes gastric distress the next day. I'm telling you all this to try to motivate myself to really stop eating this stuff.

164 this morning which surprised me. I wasn't expecting a big gain and figured I may have still lost a little. But wasn't expecting another 4lb week. It did make me feel a bit better about not making the gym last week and being exhausted, I guess the extra bouncing around the school for the 2 new kids at work is making up for it some. Or is just stress.

We’re back in the office this week (part-time). I’m going to use that to my advantage. I want to make myself plan out meals and snacks, get up/moving, and continue to hit water goals.
For this week: - plan all breakfasts/lunches - walk at least 15 min every day - hit water goal (80 oz) every day

2/07 = 206.8 LBS
2/14 = 205.5 LBS
2/21 = Forgot to weigh before leaving on business trip.
2/28 = 207.1 LBS So many bad food choices last week. Broke the pattern over the weekend - it just wasn't enough.
I also use the zero app to track my fasting (which I also lacked on the trip).

I tracked last week but went over my calories 4/7 days.
Yesterday I was able to fast for 22.5 hours, a record for me. Today my goal is 20 hours, as that seems more sustainable. Most days I’m struggling to reach 16 hours, so I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I’ll roll with it! Since I have a smaller eating window I need to be certain I get enough protein in, and veggies.
I’m exercising 4-5 days a week. Not at high intensity, because of plantar fasciitis, but still exercise that doesn’t put too much impact on my foot.
Still no scale so I will rely on jeans to judge weight loss.

Well, if stress is a diet, I'm on a rigorous one. I have occasional bouts of IBS that also use up calories, and are spurred by stress. After this week is over, then I can have the luxury of healthy living.

After this week is over, then I can have the luxury of healthy living. Moving is such a stressful event, even when it goes without a hitch (which doesn’t happen, there’s almost always a hitch). The week is well on the way to being over! IBS bothered me for years before and after my gall bladder was removed. It subsided over the past few years, wish I knew what caused it to change. Now I have the opposite problem!
