discussing COVID and the newest varient (probably DELTA too)
What do you think he will say. What will he say that will bring the country together? Is there anything he can say to do it?
Surprised we have not heard of stationing the hospital ships in NYC, Boston, L.A. and possibly Miami in preparation for potential hospital availabilty needs in the next two weeks. How about temporary hospitals built by the military as Trump did. If this stuff is that scary, Biden has to get this going, like last week.
What do you think we will hear tomorrow?

We are currently below what happened last winter. The beginning of the pandemic really hurt parts of the East Coast and overwhelmed areas, hence hospital ships and field hospitals. I don't think we are near that anywhere here on the East Coast at this time, but IDK. Cases per day counts while higher than I'd like, are still below 150K or higher a day. Death rates are up, but that usually happens when case counts go from the liveable 50 to 60K a day to the around 115K cases a day.

He's going to say that he is signing an executive order renaming the vaccine: The Trumpcine! The party of Trump will gladly get vaccinated and maybe we can put this behind us. Too bad after a year of the vaccine being out and he could have done so much good, now he is promoting it...sort of: Trump touted his administration's contribution toward developing the vaccines as part of Operation Warp Speed. "Look, we did something that was historic," he said. "We saved tens of millions of lives worldwide. We, together, all of us, not me." He added that without the vaccine, millions more people would have died from the virus. He then told his supporters to "take credit" for the vaccine, saying they shouldn't "let them take it away." "You're playing right into their hands when you're sort of, like, 'Oh, the vaccine,'" he said, referring to those of his supporters who have expressed hesitancy about or opposition to the vaccine. www.yahoo.com/news/trump-tells-supporters-youre-playing-185424560.html

Caught most of it. He was actually pretty good, but not really a lot of meat on the bone so to speak Basically after the first of the year the government will have everything you need to combat Omnicron. Not sure what we are supposed to do until then. He did say it was ok to gather for Christmas if vaccinated. Will not shut the country down like in 2020 and 2021 Says the kids can go to school even if some children in the classroom test positive Wonder what the teachers Union will say about that one. Oh yeh, they have to be vaccinated to protect the children!

Forgot these points Moving military medical personnel into the hot zones hospitals to help. Activating a thousand ambulances to transport hospital patients that do not have a room due to overcrowding to a hospital somewhere else that has available beds

I think his supporters should go for Moderna and J&J. I believe Pfizer opted out of the govt program.

None of what you suggest should be made available. They have been repeatedly warned. Too bad. Not sad.

Can't read the article and didn't find which variant he had the first time. Good warning for those who think surviving Covid will give them strong lasting immunity. NJ only counted three months post recovery as being "safe" or equivalent to being fully vaccinated in the nursing home space. Not sure what it was based on, but obviously they had some data that drove that decision. It would be interesting to know more including what his underlying health conditions were.

"Thanks to the prior administration and our scientific community, America is one of the first countries to get the vaccine," Biden said Tuesday. "Thanks to my administration, the hard work of Americans … our rollout made America among the world leaders in getting shots in arms." In an exclusive interview with Fox News on Tuesday evening, Trump reacted to Biden acknowledging his administration’s efforts. "I'm very appreciative of that — I was surprised to hear it," Trump told Fox News. "I think it was a terrific thing, and I think it makes a lot of people happy." Trump then repeated that he was "a little bit surprised." "I think he did something very good," Trump said. "You know, it has to be a process of healing in this country, and that will help a lot."www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/trump-reacts-to-rare-praise-from-biden-over-his-administrations-covid-19-vaccine-success/ar-AAS3dRT?ocid=uxbndlbingDid the world come to an end?

Trump said Covid cases would soon go down to zero. I am ok with the current president/vp being surprised. Avoiding the surge required doing the same things we have been encouraging instead of putting your head in the sand like the prior administration. Since you are so smart, what should Biden have done to prevent this dirge?

You can know things mutate without knowing when or where. It's not like the virus sends out a memo that it is going to mutate in the next 30 days. You also can made some guesses on HOW it will evolve but you can't know until it does.
That COVID would mutate to get around the vaccine was a hypothesis. The spike protein was chosen because it was the smarter bet given that if it evolves too far in the wrong direction it can no longer infect cells. That didn't mean that we got it perfect on round one. This is a novel virus we don't really know anything about how it evolves till it happens. We can only make educated guesses based on general principals and then wait to see if we are right.
There are viruses like the flu that evolve rapidly, there are viruses like Ebola that barely evolve at all. Knowing a living organism evolves is not the same thing as knowing when, where and how and being able to craft policies ahead of time.
You're seeing the scientific process in real time which is why people "keep changing their minds" all the time. We're adapting and adjusting as new information is gathered.
This should be considered a GOOD thing because that's how science is supposed to work. If that was not how science works they would be draining your blood, sticking leaches on you and performing an exorcism instead of giving you monoclonal antibodies, mRNA vaccines and a potential propholactic drug from Pzier that just got approved.
Personally I like that Kamala and Biden admit they don't know what they don't know. I want transparency. I want someone who acknowledges this is a messy imperfect process. Viruses don't care about policy. We missed our shot to get in on the offense, now we can only play defense.
I don't want a president that throws out the entire pandemic playbook because it was written by a black guy, calls COVID a hoax, stokes racism and violence against an entire ethnic group, doubles down on unproven treatments, suggests we look into injecting people with Lysol and tries to get one of the top infectious disease experts in the world fired because he won't suck the president's dick.

if you are living in a Fact Desert, everything is a surprise. It seems it surprised our President and Vice President. They both said it did. And yet the NIH siad it would in early November. Well, Trump wasn't surprised that COVID was serious in Feb 2020: “You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump told Woodward during a Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu.” “This is deadly stuff,” the president said. Though this conversation happened in February, it was not reported until now. At that time, Trump was saying that the contagion was no more virulent than the seasonal flu, that the government had the virus under control and that it would soon disappear. “I wanted to always play it down,” the president told Woodward in a March conversation. www.foxnews.com/politics/woodward-book-trump-covid-weaponsEver wonder how different this crises would be it he could just tell the truth once in his life for this country? Nah, I'm sure you don't.

“We believe that the former president being out there and stating what is factually accurate about the about the efficacy of vaccines — of getting boosted — is a good thing,” Psaki said, adding that the Biden administration believes “it’s a good thing to have a range of voices out there, Democrats, Republicans, celebrities, non-celebrities,” who are advocating for vaccination. “This is not a partisan issue,” she continued. “This is about saving lives, communicating accurate information, pushing back on against inaccurate information. And, in this particular case, the former president did that.” www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/white-house-calls-trump-s-message-on-vaccines-a-good-thing/ar-AAS66g7?ocid=msedgntpIf they keep praising Trump, he'll be a Democrat the next thing you know!!!!
