From another place that is on top of this, the feds house sexual offenders separately. So it's not a real issue unless he just pisses people off enough. Not surprised! I guess if there's a sex offender housed with him that really hates child abusers.... Unfortunately based on what he was convicted of there's worse in there. Though his hubris has been his downfall. This fucker literally asked the feds as they raided his car lot if they were looking for child porn.

Uh yea, when the dad runs for political office after his son is arrested for csam then it's a fucked up family.
At least some of the kids are out from under... barely.
Still fucked that one daughter had to sue to get money to pay for their child's birth that was filmed, yet he's spent hundreds of thousands on the pedo son's defense.

I know some prison guards who have stories.... there were a few of those Catholic priests that finally saw time in prison, who were killed by other inmates. these weren't federal prisons, but still maximum security MA state prisons.

He's still fucking smiling in his new intake photo. Fucking despicable bastard. Bet he won't smile much once he is in prison...and he finds out what happens to folks who harm kids in there. If he sees prison time. The courts aren't known for taking this too seriously.

That depends on his behavior and activities in prison.

Federal prison means at least 85% of it. Though I've seen several people say that sex offenders do not qualify for early release. If he can get early release it's 10 years and change still. Plus the 20 years probation after.

The conviction rate for the feds when it goes to trial is ridiculously high - it's over 90%. They don't arrest you until they have you dead to rights. It's why so many plead out. Just the arrogant take it to trial.

Prosecutors asked for 20 years. His lawyers asked for 5 years. The probation will do him in if he makes it to probation. And while prisons are filled with hardened criminals, most of those criminals don't take kindly to those who hurt children. Its a well known fact. He might not survive prison TBH, unless they house him in isolation. He's famous and hurts children, so he's a target! I doubt he's going to a prison filled with hardened criminals. I'm guessing he will go to a low security prison - he'll take up tennis and maybe take some college classes. He's probably already got 7 or 8 months of time served? based on the start of this thread... maybe more like a year of "time served" already. I'm guessing he'll spend another 12 or 18 months (learning tennis and taking some classes and whatever other things he can do to improve his after jail life) and then he will be out on parole. Once he's officially in prison - this all quietly fades away from public view for him and his family. And then it's just another day in the Duggar Dynasty World. Maybe he'll run for a political office when he gets out - on the Republican ticket....

He was remanded before and during the trial - I don't believe house arrest counts in the feds so he time started at the end of his trial. His prison options are Seagoville or Texarkana with the judge favoring the one in Texas. I don't think they're quite as cushy as the white collar prisons. Plus they have to be locked down a bit more and kept from gen pop.

My cynicism is mostly based on the following: 1.) he's got a well known family 2.) he's got a wealthy family 3.) he's white and male 4.) he's got a wealthy family with political connections (wasn't one of the Duggars considering running for an office/elected position?) Yes, I spouted off without facts on the prison time he'd spend and where he would spend it.... but I'm pretty sure no matter what prison he goes to he isn't gonna get beat up or hurt. I'm pretty sure he's not going to get the same "prison experience" as the more hardened prisoners or heck even the average prisoners. He's got a famous, wealthy family with some political ties. I'm am skeptical that prison "levels the playing field" for anyone who goes to one.

www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/tex/ This says it's " A low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp." Seagoville says the same thing... the Wikipedia indicates that there are other inmates serving time for "sex" related crimes. www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/sea/ Do you think he will get a pass to go home for the Holidays? Or for special family ocassions? He's going to be in prison with others who have committed White Collar crimes. FWIW: I am GLAD he is going to prison. I just don't think he's going to get 'punished' by his fellow inmates or that fear and anxiety will disrupt his sleep.

Seems to me former Illinois governor George Ryan did not get a pass from prison when his wife was terminally ill. I can't remember if he got a pass for her funeral. He was certainly politically connected and was not dangerous to society in the way Duggar is.

He's part of a reddit sub about all this an mentioned he has an article coming up where he researched the two choices and talked to BOP etc. I'd keep an eye out for it to answer some of your questions. And also if you want more info about anything else.
