So remember how Trump dumped Mo Brooks, running in Alabama, when Mo started sagging in the polls? Mo has surged in the polls here at the end of the race, coming in just behind Katie Britt, something like 31 and 29%. Britt won’t get the 50% she needs to win - there will most likely be a run off race between the two. www.politico.com/news/2022/05/22/trump-mo-brooks-alabama-senate-00034249Brooks was the only candidate who supported the idea that Trump was robbed in 2020 - and that’s how Trump repaid him. And with a strong lead over Trump’s pick Perdue, Kemp (running for governor in GA) has already switched to campaigning against his future Dem rival, Stacy Abrams. Guess we’ll see what happens - voting day in GA.

PA GOP is very unhappy about that - thanks to Trumps meddling the have a candidate running for Governor who has pledged to conduct a 2020 election audit (because that’s what it took to get Trump to back him). PA thinks Mastriano is unelectable.
Similar circumstances in GA where stone faced Perdue starts every stump speech with ‘Trump won the 2020 election’ but in GA, the current Governor Kemp is leading him by 32 points. he damned well should be. Lawrence O'Donnel framed this race as the only thing standing between democracy and dictatorship. i think that is a bit dramatic, but i see his point. You lost me at Lawrence O'Donnel, the king of Russian collusion disinformation.

Well, you cannot remember when we were doomed when Kennedy was elected President in 1960! Now we have another Catholic President, and we know we are doomed! (in case anyone wonders, sarcasm, people, sarcasm) Except for Biden, religion aside, his policies and mental capacity have doomed America to third world levels

Talk about your third world levels.

Raffensburger is a straight up law and order guy. He refused to be bullied by Trump into doing something he knew was illegal and even scolded the GOP about trying to circumvent the rules. He told them if they want to win more voters then they need to run better campaigns. So Trumps vengeance based campaign against Raffensburger and Kemp both failed in a bigly way - both won by more than 50 percent against Trumps hand picked minions so we don’t even need a run off to determine the winner. Let’s see if old Sour Grapes Trump urges Georgians to vote Democratic in the fall, just to try to make these two losers, even if it means we get a progressive blue Governor. My bet is that he will, because Trump places Trump above party, every single time.

Has any one person lost in Georgia politics in 2 years more than Donald Trump? Losing 2020 presidential election, 2 recounts, 2 senate seats, and now primaries for Governor and SoS.
ETA: This factoid is brought to you by the number 2.

www.racetothewh.com/senate/2022Democrats are up to 55%. tossup states are still Nevada, Georgia, PA. Democrats are still favored in three of the four. Republicans have to WIN two of the three to flip the Senate. their best chance is NV, and Georgia (in that order) their odds of winning Georgia is about 2:3 right now. it's not good. but it is certainly something they can clear. anyone with feelings on the Georgia race should chime in. i took OH out of the tossup category. for now.

I see a recount in the future for the "Jesus, Guns, Babies" candidate. Trump loyalist who lost Georgia governor primary with just 3.4% of the vote is refusing to admit defeatcandidate for the GOP nomination for governor of Georgia refused to concede defeat even though she received only 3.4% of the vote on Tuesday. Kandiss Taylor, a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, came third in the race. She received significantly fewer votes than David Perdue, who had Trump's formal endorsement, and incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp, who won by 73.7% and secured the nomination. After the results were clear, Taylor complained that the election was "rigged" against her, The Daily Beast reported. Hershel Walker, the GOP candidate who is trying to win back one of the GA senate seats, is a former football star. He also beat his wife, had some business deals go bad and admits he has mental health issues. His opponent is a former minister. Both are black. Walker was hand picked by Trump and very easily won his primary, but Warnock, his opponent, has not begun campaigning against him yet (no commercials yet) and I think when he does, he will have a lot of shit to throw at him. Plus Hershel is not a good public speaker. He mumbles, he is not inspiring. He refused to participate in the GOP primary debates, not sure if he will agree to debate in the main election. His problem is he is not a politician and not used to public speaking. Warnock, on the other hand, after years of being a pastor of a large church, is a very good, compassionate and inspiring speaker. I suspect the far right MAGA voters will not find many reasons to vote for Hershel. He’s black, and so is Warnock, so he has that against him. If a MAGA voter can’t bring himself to vote for Kemp for governor, he’s not going to bother to come out to vote for black guy for senate, so I think the GOP vote will be suppressed. Right now, Walker is only leading slightly, 49 to 45, so he can’t stand to lose many votes. We’ll see.

Whoa, my Trump-approved R rep has come out IN FAVOR of gun control! Of course, the party has declared him persona non grata, and is scrambling to primary him out. Everything is wacky, because the gerrymandered maps were thrown out at the last sec, so they've all *just* figured out which new district they each want to run in, and the primary date was pushed out. Jacobs' district was the one cut and parcelled out to different adjacent districts. My area got added onto Higgins' D Buffalo district. Woohoo! So Jacobs is now running in Tom Reed's (mostly) old district further south - Tom Reed was embarrassed by a sexual harassment case and announced he wouldn't run again but would finish out his term, then abruptly quit last month. Conservatives seek primary challenger after Jacobs gun reform comments

A Trump minion is now claiming it’s not possible that Kemp won the GA GOP Governor primary because GA was the only state where Trumps endorsements didn’t count, which makes it suspect, according to Emerald Robinson, who used to work for Newsmax until she claimed the Covid vaccine contains Luciferase, a tracking device. Now she works for Mike Lindell.
Another Trump toady said yesterday that it’s not possible that Kemp won 74% of the vote against Trumps pick at 22% - because no one has ever won by that big a margin (they have) so it has to be rigged, because who doesn’t love Trump better than every other GOP candidate?
Georgia, apparently.
