Has anyone called the number for those TV ads saying they will "review" your medicare coverage and maybe see if you are eligible for more benefits like more money back monthly, free dental, transportation etc? I just don't want to get on a mailing list or constant phone calls.

Once they have the caller's phone number the caller is doomed.

They are ads for Medicare advantage plans. They do give more benefits, but may limit your choices in hospitals, doctors, and medications

They are ads for Medicare advantage plans. They do give more benefits, but may limit your choices in hospitals, doctors, and medications Agreed. BF works for a call center that has a contract with the US Government to answer questions from Medicare beneficiaries. He's had his share of calls from people who were aggressively sold Medicare Advantage and later regretted it. Dental benefits are limited (and have a narrow network). Plans that are "free" are subject to income requirements. We tried to talk Dad out of Medicare Advantage but he bought it anyway. Fortunately he decided within the initial trial period (3 months?) that he didn't like it and switched back. After the trial period, a Medicare Supplement plan is not required to take you or they can accept you but charge more due to pre-existing conditions. That alone was enough to turn me off of Medicare Advantage. And don't give ANY of them your contact information unless you're serious about buying through them. The site Boomerbenefits.com is one of the best I've seen at explaining all the options but they're an insurance agency as well.

If you would like to have a knowledgeable and unbiased person review your Medicare options, check to see if your state has a SHIP program. They will offer guidance without trying to sell you anything. SHIP Program

Just a quick comment on Advantage plans: Not all of them are crap. DH and I are both on Advantage plans. We have a strong network that includes all our doctors in it. The dental care is more than we had on our ACA plans. Same for the vision care. We both ended up on the plan because no one in our area would offer secondary coverage for disability Medicare. DH had the option to go to regular Medicare and a secondary plan this year and chose not to. We're very happy with our plan and currently have no reason to change.
