and
I'm guessing most of the kale actually got eaten (or went bad due to age in the fridge and throw away) by now. Most "green leafy" bagged veggies aren't much good a day or two after their "sell by date".
I like kale and do buy the bagged kind. I usually have a "menu plan" I'm working - and so the Kale will get used within a few days of purchase and then eaten over a handful of days. I try to buy bags with "sell by" or best by dates at 10 days out into the future.
(I make kale "super salad" with blueberries and walnuts OR Lentil curry with kale (and sweet potatoes) OR Italian soup with white beans and kale or some other vegetarian main dish that calls for either kale or spinach. )

And a tip for buying bagged leafy produce....buy the bags with the least air in them. Those will last longer. And I worked in a produce dept. for 2 yrs. If the bags have started to expand, the leafy greens have started to let off gasses as they rot/deteriorate.

Not in my state. Yay! I usually buy the loose stuff unless I go for the baby Kale.

You might consider throwing out the skillet too!
