We were spoiled rotten by the fishermen in my family. I never realized how expensive salmon was because we never had to buy it It's pretty expensive here too. And it's all frozen and flown in. I was telling my sister yesterday that I wanted to take a trip to chiver78's neck of the woods to experience fresh caught fish for once in my life.

My brother catches plenty if he goes. Somehow, it's still expensive here. They ship from the coasts instead of depending on locally caught. (For salmon, not necessarily other types of fish.)

We're fishing for salmon right now on the West coast. About 4 miles from my house. I'm glad the kids are mostly gone. We had so much salmon when they were home. They loved to fish!

Dd school is enrolled in this program this year. www.fns.usda.gov/ffvp/fresh-fruit-and-vegetable-programThey already served veggies from the community garden at lunch, but this is snack provided to all kids in the afternoon. Peer pressure can be great for this kind of thing imo.
