They said on the news tonight that the Taliban had already started going around knocking on doors asking if unmarried women or girls lived there. But they didn’t say why and I’m kind of scared to ask.
Do they want to rape them? Or force them to marry Taliban warriors?
Very worried about the women. How do you go from 20 years of being able to work, have a job, even go to a hair salon, and then have to go back to being men’s chattel?

I pondered this while watching January 6th. If I could get to my money, I might be in decent shape. If our fake money system implodes and I am left with nothing, I would do what I could to get my children out, and then just let whoever come and kill me. Why would anyone come to you and kill you? On Jan 6, the people trying to take over the government were people that wanted to create a country that I would hate. And I would likely tell them, or actively work against them. Might be arrogant of me to assume I would be so successful they would come for me.

There is a place HERE to discuss what is happening there. Now on this thread about potential reactions here, would this type of behavior make you more motivated to fight against a takeover?

Maybe I would get less spicy as I get older - although the older I am, the more I would risk my life. I have already lived a great life.

Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, and Harris would be on the first jet out of DC headed to Cuba or Haiti where they would set up a ghost government taxing American citizens for their insurrection fight. (I guess if everyone else can take political shots at conservatives over a serious question, I can make one about the democrats too) I wonder what women in power in DC actually think would happen to them in the aftermath, assuming you are asking about a Taliban takeover which I realize that is probably not your question Please note, no one stormed the airports around DC on January 6th to get out of Dodge...... That's kind of troll-ish. Like when someone mentions their finger hurts - and someone suggests they cut off their hand - cause then their finger won't hurt. Or when someone volunteers to stomp on their foot - so then their finger won't hurt as much as their foot. Not very helpful and kind of dismissive. What I want to know is why you went with Cuba and Haiti - when perhaps Panama or the Cayman Islands would have been better choices (you know where you think they keep all their ill gotten gains - cause if they are smart enough to offshore their money - surely they are smart enough to NOT go to Cuba or Haiti. ) Cuba because it is only 90 miles away and a Communist country fiting for these democrats and their political philosopy. Haiti because it is as dysfunctional as any country can be befitting of the democratic leaders in D.C.

I am thinking never. in fact we helped overthrow their democratically elected government many times in the last century, throwing the country into the hands of dictators.

The total straight line flight distance from Washington, DC to Cuba is 1,212 miles. No Cuba does not fit their philosophy, but some people have a hard time realizing Communism is different from Socialism, etc.

I was not saying Haiti has benefitted from us. I am saying it is a befitting location for the democrats and their dysfunctional socialism... Incidently, after this last earthquake I propose we move every Haitian to America, annex the country of Haiti and just make it a National wildlife park and call it a day. Obviously no country has been able to rebuild their infrastructure system since the last earthquake and Haiti will never accomplish it.

I was also pointing out that Haiti has been neo-fascist forever. it is why they are among the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere, why their entire half of the Island is deforested, etc. in other words, it is our interference/influence that has made Haiti a living hell- the kind of policies that Trump has recommended, and continues to recommend. in other words, it is what the US would (and may) look like if the GOP had it's way for the next (50) years or so.

Years ago I told everyone here (I think it was here, might have been the old MSN Board) I grew up and still live in one of the most multi race ethnic sections of the country in Lake county Indiana, home of East Chicago, Hammond, Gary, etc. Not afraid of muti race living, then and not now. Unfortunately those cities are a shadow of their former glory, although Hammond is hanging strong to this day. Live in the integrated suburbs these days, as better school systems, and not under democratic regime graft. We are next door to Chicago after all If the housing market in northwest Indiana was as hot as most of the country, we would sell in a NY minute. Property is not going up 25% a year here......although Chicagoans are buying up a lot of homes because they want to escape Illinoisand Lightfoot and can live like kings here when the sell out of Illinois. Yep, wintering in Florida these days, and I think everyone can tell you that Florida is not white bread crackers either. I worked hard for 44 years and we are reaping the benefits now. Will not apoligize for it. Working to update my tan this week so when we do go to Florida I will look like a local rather than a northerner...... Not against some Afgans moving in here either. I remember what happened to locals in Vietnam who worked for our government and did not get out because our government did not get the job done then....... Man I missed your sarcasm in the last year

Great place to visit, but would not want to live there.............they do have great prices on draft beer in the music plazas connecting their various neighborhoods.

That's not a discussion of issues, its a fantasy paragraph based on biases. You were the one that posted all Haitians should come here. While I disagree with what Tiny posted about Indiana, you are the one that needs to be the better person. Posting crap gets crap back and that's totally on you.

Rational, balanced comments usually get those back in return too. To quote an old, old commercial, "Try it. You'll like it." (Or maybe not, but give it a shot anyway.)

What are the rules for when it's OK to use an ad hominem attack and when it's not? Is it bad that I used an ad hominem against Indiana (and indirectly you if you live in Indiana) because you can counter back? Is it ok to make fun of/back stab people/groups when they can't counter back? Does someone being a better person do the latter? FWIW: I know a lot of people who would snicker behind their hand at the "inbreeding" jokes about Indiana and "southern anywhere".

I'm strangely OK with this. I think it might improve Indiana... 11 million Haitians.... there would be better food in Indiana and some different culture and music and such. There's plenty of room in Indiana -- the locals might not even know they were there (as the locals don't get out much - that dating ones sister thing and all.). Really tired of the adhomen attacks here. Funny how democrats or liberals partisans would rather attack the person or a region than discuss the issue. Try being a better person than that. I know you as well as a few others can do it. I should invite you to another board I post on. I get pilloried constantly by conservatives and they make the liberals here seem thoughtful and empathetic.
please spare me the pouty victim crap. four years of Trump, bro. it was barely survivable for us liberals, while you conservatives ran around waving your freak flags.

Since Red Dawn is one of my all time favorite movies, I have to believe that's what would really happen if we were invaded😊
